Okay they got my attention! My teenage son loves hip-hop music, the fashion, and the culture. My generation (Generation X) set the bar high for hip hop music, the culture, and the fashion... To be honest Vinnie's didn't disappoint in style, but when I arrived with an online order that was totally incorrect I was concerned about the quality of customer service I would receive. I was WRONG. I explained that I did not receive what I ordered and showed them the merchandise, the salesman apologize and when I asked for an exchange they found exactly what I was looking for, have you ever arrived at a location ready to fight and it wasn't necessary? That's how I felt. This young man was courteous and professional and check this while I was awaiting an exchange my son was shopping with another professional young man who helped him find a very stylish denim jacket and when my son arrived to the counter with the jacket in hand to check out the young man at the counter said, "you know I got the jeans to match that".... I was done...an up sell... my son looked like he hit the lotto...my money was spent nothing else I could say...GREAT customer service. I got nothing but AWESOME service that day as we exited they ALL said "good bye" and wished my son a good upcoming freshmen year in college. I'm not even gonna tell you how much I spent that day. Vinnie's has been a staple in the Prospect Heights/Park Slope area for quite some time. It's a small hip-hop boutique that sells t-shirts, jeans, shades, etc. They have a wide assortment of Brooklyn shirts, and that's what brought me here. I've been here many times, but on my previous visits, they didn't have the t-shirt I wanted-- last night I was able to finally pick it up! As I walked up to the storefront, I thought the store was closed because it was around 7:45PM, but an employee opened the store and greeted me. I knew what I wanted and he immediately went and retrieved two shirts so I could try them on. He was extremely helpful and friendly, which all the employees were. While awaiting the credit card receipt me and the owner struck up a conversation about my pending Disney trip, the store itself, rapper Fabolous, etc. I couldn't have been more pleased with my experience here. While I'm past the stage of the majority of items here, I will definitely return for some more Brooklyn t-shirts and some of their Legend t-shirts when they are restocked. read more

Aye yo, Vinnie! Yo threads be fly, yo! I was strolling around the area surrounding Barclays Center when I came across this hip hop clothing shop. I must admit, I was hesitant to step foot inside at first, as I figured it was one of those stereotypical places peddling "Word Up!" and Brooklyn Reppin'!" type of merchandise (*insert city here* for wherever you are from, and you will know what I'm talking about). However, after a couple of passes, I just thought, why the heck not? And popped my head into the store. I soon realized that despite all the Brooklyn themed clothing, Vinnie's is actually a local boutique with fresh, fitted styles. For us West Coasters, the best comparison would be the Oaklandish brand, which is very appropriate, since there are many parallels between Brooklyn and Oakland. Their in-house labels are Paulie's and Born Fly, but Vinnie's also carries other brands such as Notorious Brooklyn. The shop itself is very organized and well maintained with of course, a slammin' sound system. In addition to clothing, there is also a fly kicks section in the back. Now, the part that I was dreading... As with many boutiques, there are NO price tags, so you have to ask the salesperson to check the potential damage. After spotting an article or two that caught my fancy, I was bracing for the worst - either a Crater Lake sized hole in my poor wallet, or worse yet, having to walk out empty handed. I flagged down one of the salespersons - who manages to balance carrying a grip of street cred while being equally polite - only to find out that everything is very reasonably priced! T-shirts start in the $20~something range, and depending on the rarity of the designs, other articles are typically priced accordingly. Best of all, none of that floppy sleeve, maternity dress syndrome plaguing American clothing shops today is to be found at Vinnie's. All of the t-shirts are slim and fitted, so leave your chicken and beer gut at home! *Disclaimer - I only tried the t-shirts, so other items may fit differently* All of the employees are extremely cordial and easy to talk to. My shopping experience was positive as every time I visit New York I always make sure to pop in and buy gifts for friends and family in Australia. The clothing and apparel are of high quality and tasteful urban fashion. The customer service is exceptional and the staff are well informed on product knowledge. Definitely worth the trip to Brooklyn if you're looking for premium/highend streetwear. The fitteds, tees, jackets, denim and kicks - all of their shit is fly and they have everything is sizes. So it's not your typical boutique geared towards smaller guys. I've shopped at Vinnie's Styles twice and neither of those times was for myself. Although it isn't billed as a men's clothing store, Vinnie's sells really cool, mostly men's apparel and accessories. True Religion, G-Star and quite a few other really hip (hip hop) and happening brands can be found at Vinnie's styles. There are some sweet labels here by underground designers too. Vinnie's jeans selection is impressive and you're definitely gonna spend large money. Vinnie's is not for the budget conscious. The staff is young, all male (at least from what I've seen) and they know their biz when it comes to street fashions. Everyone here is helpful and provided a lot of honest opinions and suggestions during the Christmas gift selection process for my young hunny. Vinnie's Styles gained popularity two years ago by selling "Brooklyn" tee shirts. Since then they have began selling higher end "street fashion" or urban wear. As the popularity and inventory increased, so have the prices (Be prepared to spend $40 on a single tee shirt and $200 on a pair of jeans). As the Fulton Street Mall and surrounding stores continue to deteriorate, Vinnie's Styles has become the go-to spot for kids (and some adults as well) that haven't gone for the preppy look. They now have a small collection of sneakers, women's clothing, and children's clothing, but the store still caters predominately to males. The only knock I have on Vinnie's is that they may have become too popular. They no longer have that unique, boutique, feel to them. People will know that you are wearing clothes from Vinnie's at first glance. read more
