My friends and i were on out weekly stroll through the neighborhood and went into this local streetwear for sneakerheads gem. There was popular music playing at a low volume, multiple, friendly sales associates to give you assistance upon request. My friends both bought shirts, hoodie was $82, tee was $39 (I think). A tad pricey but it's a local establishment with their own brand, not some resellers joint or haven for hypebeasts. I will surely be back for the shirt i fell in love with on backorder.

The clothes in this store are stunning. All of the fabrics are handmade, as are the clothes. I…read morefound a dress that I loved, but it didn't fit. The owner took my measurements and altered the dress (for free!) and because I don't live in NY, he shipped it to me. I only wish he had items for sale listed on his website so I could order more. The owner, and his family, are lovely humans. The bar staff is also super kind and great drink makers! All around, it's a very cool spot. I wish I could hang out there more.

This 10 yr old boutique is the epitome of what BK is - custom, locally produced goods with a music vibe. The owner produces tie dyed African inspired clothing, of which he can tailor for you on the spot. I recently bought a linen dress that I love & can't wait to wear.. and pair of funky huge star earrings. Def a place to go to for unique, well made items. Prices are on the high end but if you take into account the craftsmanship and the quality.. it's reasonable. Anthropologie items can cost 2 - 3x what's in the store... There's a spot out back that is used for classes / workshops / events but I haven't attended any yet. Found a great article on this spot: http://newyork.untappedcities.com/2011/07/14/the-village-at-gureje/
