Very nice shop! Has a little bit of everything and I love the selection of small things (stickers, maps, jacket pins, post cards). The bow ties and such are made in New York. I think it would be a great place to find a gift! Huge selection of hats, ties, scarves, suspenders... Overall lovely store. Great pricing for such a well curated spot

If you're a gentleman lacking game in the style department, you could use a trip to Fine And Dandy. As is stands, I'm about as dapper as I can be hailing from San Diego and San Francisco. Growing up in Southern California means shorts and t-shirts year round. In San Francisco it's acceptable to dine in a Michelin Star rated restaurant in a hoodie and Chuck Taylors. It's California - it's laid back. I've now been in New York for several years and my wardrobe becomes more and more refined as time passes. But thanks to this men's boutique, I can see that bell curve accelerating faster than ever. Whether you're looking for house made bow ties and scarves or a variety of grooming products, trinkets, suspenders, cocktail books, etc... Fine And Dandy carry a surprisingly huge selection. I say "surprising" because their store can't be more than 300 square feet, yet somehow they have hundreds of different items dotting their store shelves. No single space is wasted, and it's jam packed full of fun items you'll want to have in your arsenal. It's a little *tricky to get to if you don't live in Hell's Kitchen, but it's worth the jaunt. *Tricky = lazy. It's only two avenues from the C and E lines... c'mon!

The shop is loaded with everything you need to complete your outfit for any occasion.

Running short on time, needed to finish my suit with a tie & square, and was struggling. After hitting some big commercial retailers, I found items that would work, but nothing to get excited over. Popped open Yelp, and found 'Fine & Dandy'. Ok, looks good. Popped open Google, and 'Fine & Dandy' has good rep with them too. Short Subway ride and walk, I'm there.. It's a small space, but upon entering, it's highly efficiently used! Stocked with every men's fashion accessory you could need, from hats, socks, all types of ties, ect. I presented my dilemma to the men, along with a swatch of fabric of my girlfriends dress and a pic of my suit. With on minutes, I had several choices to decide from. A little consulting with the GF, came away very happy with the look 'Fine & Dandy' created for my event. Highly reccomend them when your seeking something unique and make your outfit pop.

Its a tiny store chock full of items to keep a man (and woman) fine and dandy. It's a bit pricey but the selection they've amassed is well worth the trip. I brought my bf here and he loved it. I even picked up two lapel pins for myself. I would definitely recommend coming here to pick up gifts for the men in your life.

I am new to formal headwear, and my father suggested that I go here for a proper fitting and customization. I was excited about it! It felt like a next step in my adulthood as I grow into a middle-aged vibe. I took my 12-year-old son to show him the difference in quality between a mass retailer and a bespoke, local, small business retail experience. I splurged +1k on 3 new hats. I love them, but the service was nothing like it used to be, as I understand it. This is where I would give it a much lower rating if it weren't such a great little spot. 2 Stars: The two young women working were not very knowledgeable, seemed quite apathetic, and essentially left me to my own devices to sort fit, shape, etc. out. They answered questions about care adequately and showed me several hats that I asked to see, but in a detached way. In short, it was a very disappointing experience and not bespoke at all. My father was mystified when I told him about it. I don't generally leave reviews, good or bad, unless things go too far. But after reading through the low reviews, often from long-term loyal customers who lament experiences similar to mine and the recent change in ownership, I am bothered by the defensiveness in the owner's replies. Many of them say [the milliner has resigned due to health, and therefore we no longer offer shaping or repair services] or [come in for a chat to correct your misinformation]. WHAT?! That is how you respond? On a public forum? Marketing yourself as a luxury shop but responding like a cranky clerk? Why not hire a new milliner? Or train a new one? Find a way to outsource it in the meantime. But telling decades-long high-paying customers to do it themselves at home over a kettle...what are you talking about? Should I learn to tailor and do dry cleaning in my bathtub, too? Turns out, the problem is top-down. The new owner has clearly wrecked this place and doesn't seem to care; it's all about her. Another NYC institution bites the dust. All of that said, it's a unique place. One of the last vestiges. Go there.

A week later, I received an email saying the hat had arrived. When I got to the store, the employee told me the wrong hat was ordered. I said fine, here's my number -- return it and get the correct one. Another week goes by, and when I come back, the same hat is still sitting in the box -- not even returned. Lazy employees, no urgency, and the store feels more like a hangout spot than a place of business. Customers shouldn't have to deal with this kind of nonsense. The sales rep never processed the return, so I had to request a refund myself. Still no hat, just wasted time and money (including paying for parking in SoHo). All I heard was, "Oh, I'm sorry." Sorry doesn't fix terrible service. Completely unprofessional -- everything about this place is trash. The store needs serious management or maybe just let AI run it because at least robots would do the job.

A few weeks later, I walked by again and there was no hat class in progress. I popped in just to see what EVH is all about, as I love super niche businesses like this. I walked in and the owner was helping out a few other people, so I just perused around for a second. I had my airpods in with no music playing, hiding in plain sight. I heard the owners AWESOME British accent and thought to myself "wow it's really a vibe in here." At this exact moment, I spotted a hat that really caught my eye. It was a hat that had a mix matched denim pattern that could be paired with almost any outfit. I had a vision of me buying this hat and it becoming an integral part of my personality. "Oh, there goes the guy with the cool hat walking up 1st ave" onlookers would say as they walked by, jealous of my cool new hat. Cute girls would come up to me at the Wayland and or Ding-a-Ling saying "Oh my god, I love your hat!" ... "You haven't been to East Village Hats!??!?!?!" I would respond to them with a cheeky, endearing smile. However, when I picked up the hat it was like $130 and that's just out of my price range for a hat at this moment. Also, I have an extremely large head so the hat was probably a pipe dream all along. A man could dream can't he...?
