Don't come here unless you have nothing better to do. They have 5 people working at the store but all they do is stand there and do nothing. It's busy store but they only have 1 register. I accidentally purchased the bucket bermuda Kangol instead of the casual bermuda bucket which was worn in 80s. My transaction was done online. It was stated to me that I could return the items, but would not receive a refund, or exchange. Their option for me was to send it back and donate to a charity of my choice. Legit, I hate this place. My first time there to get a hat for my kid because he outgrew his old one. Staff member was talking amounts themselves. Great way to ignore people that have a question. I asked for kids hats and what the next size up, dude just mumbled and we right back to talking to the other workers. If I knew where it was, I wouldn't ask. He would be out of a job. It feels like an understatement to say that Lids specializes in caps. They have dozens and dozens (okay, maybe hundreds) of different caps spread across different sports teams and even pop culture media. Sure you can easily get yourself the cap of your favorite baseball team, but you can *also* grab yourself a cap with Pikachu or Iron Man on it! The even sell small back packs especially designed to protect your cap. Tucked away between some larger store fronts/restaurants, this location is a tad smaller than some of the other ones I have seen before but it is still a good size. When I went there were about five or six other people shopping around and we never got in each other's way. The cashier at the store was very nice. The customer in front of us was piling on quite a collection of caps, but when she saw we only had one item she took us first even though she had started ringing up the other person already. Bought a Brooklyn Dodger hat here and paid cash. One of the cashier gave me an incorrect amount of change. I asked for a receipt before and he said it's only email. My phone was dead at that moment. I found out later that he gave me a change of $1.01 but it was supposed to be $7.01. I'm already gone from the area but I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone. read more

Came here to buy a SnapBack recently before attending the Miami Heat/Brooklyn Nets game...one thing I don't like about Lids, they rarely ever have the same selection as they do on their website. What I do like about Lids is that with the discount card you can get what you came to purchase for a very decent price. SnapBack was originally $29.99 and was reduced to $23...I didn't get the SnapBack that I originally came for but still left with something decent and for $23, I can't really complain that much. read more

Great selection but disorganized service. Zero communication with regards to embroidery times. If you know that embroidery is a big sell, why not invest in additional machines, ensure that both existing machines work, and have dedicated staff. I love buying hats here because of the sheer selection, but service has dipped big-time this summer. It's a shame - some of the staff are helpful and work hard whilst others have no interest in lending a helping hand. Have been waiting seemingly forever to get just one hat embroidered. If I knew it would have taken this long, I would have just returned to pick it up later. read more

If you have a membership ($10 a year?) you get %10 off of everything in the store and %20 off all custom work ... Totally worth it. I checked back a few weeks later, no hat. No record of it. No one who cared about it. Went in a week later only to be dismissed as a moron because I didn't have my original receipt. Good place to grab an LA Dodgers hat when you're in NYC and Times Square to show the local New Yorkers that LA is way better than NYC! I thought that it would actually piss off New Yorkers a little more to wear LA stuff in their town, but they mostly just hate people from Boston and rightfully so. For $30 I scored my Dodgers hat and I almost went ahead and grabbed a TX Rangers hat to sport when I'm in LA, but I didn't see spending $60 on hats for a sport I really don't even follow that closely. It's more just to represent your hood. But this place was cool...as cool as a chain hat store can be and the staff got me in and out quickly. I'm actually sporting my LA hat as I write this review. On a side note...I prefer flex fit hats to actual fitted ones...they're just a little more comfortable. My 7 year old nephew and my 5 year old niece picked really cute hat sets which was very much needed for in the New York air. I went to this lids, knowing they are the only game in town that claims to have the hats of every team in every major sports league. I am a huge fan of the Jets, Seahawks, Knicks, Mets, Isles and San Jose Sharks, so I was excited to walk in and buy team hats from my teams out west cheaper and quicker than online. Unfortunately, my experience was very lack luster. At first, I looked for the San Jose Sharks hat and did not see one on their selves. I assumed that it must be in the back since its not a very popular team on the east coast? So I go to the counter and ask for help. Was told by a worker to hold on, she asks this guy who was already doing embroidery and could've hurt himself because she screamed at him to come over and help me . He came over and was pretty polite and respectfully, but as he looked for it explained that the NHL is not popular around here and they ran out of stock on the item ?. You stated that the league isn't popular but proceed to tell me a relatively unknown team is sold out ?. So I just say ok, can I get a Seattle Seahawks SnapBack? Since they won the Super Bowl they must have it right?. No, the guy says sorry we only have it in fitted. I say sure ill take a large. Sorry out I them only have extra large....
