The customer service in this store is absolutely the worst I've ever experienced. I ordered a hat in-store and was told it would be delivered there for pickup. A week later, I received an email saying the hat had arrived. When I got to the store, the employee told me the wrong hat was ordered. I said fine, here's my number -- return it and get the correct one. Another week goes by, and when I come back, the same hat is still sitting in the box -- not even returned. Lazy employees, no urgency, and the store feels more like a hangout spot than a place of business. Customers shouldn't have to deal with this kind of nonsense. The sales rep never processed the return, so I had to request a refund myself. Still no hat, just wasted time and money (including paying for parking in SoHo). All I heard was, "Oh, I'm sorry." Sorry doesn't fix terrible service. Completely unprofessional -- everything about this place is trash. The store needs serious management or maybe just let AI run it because at least robots would do the job. read more

I kept seeing this place on Instagram and needed to grab a hat so I stoped by. Being 100%, they were only letting a few people in so I felt a lil way. Let me stop being petty, I get it. I can say the set up is hella cool. It's giving Instagram photos. Especially if you into special edition snapbacks and the hype type shit. It's hella small, but I wasn't made it it. Hat Club seemed like an exciting place to go. I collect a lot of ballcaps and was interested to see their offerings. Initially the store looks promising. There's a rotating cap shelf displaying a lot of unique hats with custom embroideries, like a specialty shop off Diagon Alley. Except there's really nothing magical about this place outside of their presentation. Most hats for sale are New Era polyester caps. These caps are mostly plastic and are the same ones sold with World Series' patches on the side at MLB team stores. These hats are not the same as the wool on-field caps, and they vary in quality much more than player-issued hats. Hat Club offers hats with unique colors, patches, stitchings. You might find something like a black Saint Louis Cardinals hat with a patch of old Busch Stadium on the side. Despite some interesting designs, the stitching on Hat Club's caps are loose, embroideries are often very messy, with threads bleeding into others, mudding the details of a patch or image. Most caps have threads sticking out. The quality is very low and sometimes small letters are completely illegible. These hats are most likely custom ordered wholesale from a cheap supplier and even the authenticity of the New Era brand should be questioned in some cases. Almost all of this would be forgivable if not for the insanely high price points. A few glances at the tags showed an average number of about $50 per hat before tax, but there were also several $60 and $70 offerings. None of these figures could be justified with the consistently bad quality of the caps. The ten minutes I was in the store, the employees were despondent and seemed reluctant to be there. I had previously talked on the phone with someone at the store weeks earlier while looking for a specific cap, and he was very short and cold. Overall, the store is a huge disappointment. The caps should be higher quality with the prices, or much lower in price with the current crop of product. There are many better options for caps, one of them being Ebbet's Field Flannel. Hat Club feels like a cash grab with no respect for detail. read more

I didn't want to seem rude so I asked one of the guys their if he worked there to ask him a question and I guess he took offense to my question he didn't really answered me he gave a gesture so I asked again and he still didn't respond. Received my hat today in the mail. New Era 5950 Mets Trucker Fitted. Hat is very tight. I recommend going up a size if anyone is reading this. I Contacted CS to do an exchange they said they do not. So I have to take an L and pay for SH to return and then have to buy the bigger size and take another SH L. In addition the hat was purchased on a GC I received for Fathers day. So now I have to payout of pocket for the bigger size BC there is no guarantee by the time they process the refund the hat will be available. What is crazy if I went to the store it would be a straight up exchange. Very poor CS IMO. A return should just have occurred plain and simple. read more

Company is horrible! Use the pandemic to not fill orders and when asked to refund they conveniently choose not to engage in that conversation. I ordered a hat that was set to release, my guess is they must don't have the money to make after being closed. Pissed because at the least they should address my refund. Wow. After my colleague at my office recommended the Hat Club to purchase NBA or NFL fitted caps. I said let me check out the Hat Club since I live the neighborhood. WTF! This business not interested in making profits! I understand staff having passionate convos about sports, music or etc. But keep that shit at a professional volume!However, great customer service and profits should always be the HAT CLUB's main objectives especially when many small businesses are closing not in NoHo and SoHo, but across the country. The entire staff was doing absolutely nothing hanging out food on the counter one of the hat reels not spinning to show what the store has to offer. When I was in customer service when a customer comes in the store you greet that customer and ask if they need help with anything the fat guy behind the counter just chatting. This store needs to really train there employees they are there to work. There's a difference in work and hanging out. Slowly but surely the staff will be the reason new customers won't show. The entire store is empty besides the 3 reels what's the point of having a store empty wait let me guess the employees are in charge of putting the hats out but they can't cause they are hanging out. read more

This is my first review ever, that's how bad the employees at this place are. Didn't say a word when I walked in and when I asked if they had a certain hat I got ignored.
