Since AO charges $10 for mailed return, I went to this store instead that's close to my work. The store is very nice, has some wonderful clothing. But not as versatile as their website that has far more items and products on sale. I was greeted by a very friendly associate. She proceeded my return within a minute. I shopped with my daughter in the Highland Park; Dallas, Texas location when I was visiting her from out of town. When we were in the store we had very good service. We made a significant purchase. ($3.000) The very next day many of the items purchased went on sale. I was notified of the sale via emails direct from Alice & Olivia. Sadly, I left town and could not assist with the adjustment. I asked my daughter to return to the store for an adjustment since it was less than 12 hours since our initial purchase. She went to the store for an adjustment with her receipt. The store manager, Danni gave my daughter the run around regarding her adjustment. She was told she needed the receipt and the clothing. My daughter had to return to the store again with the receipt and clothing in hand the next day. Danni gave her the run around again. She did not want to honor the adjustment but finally did. I had to call and speak with Danni on the phone to make this happen. Danni said she was following store policy. I googled the store adjustment policy and it lists a 7 day adjustment policy. The adjustments we were requesting was day # 2 & # 3 after the sale. The worst part about this whole experience is my daughter is physically handicapped. She had to make two additional trips to the store for an adjustment. As a mother of a handicapped daughter, this shocked me at how insensitive Danni handled the entire situation. Danni can see my daughter is physically handicapped! If the adjustment return policy is to have the receipt and clothing in hand it should be listed on the A &O website. It is not. I feel Danni needs sensitivity training. She could have handled the adjustment request much differently especially seeing my daughter is handicapped. This will be the last time I purchase anything from this location. The purchase which was a good experience turned into an awful one. read more

If yelp only had zero stars it would be reserved for them. Unfortunately, this store has some of the worst customer service I've experienced. The employees are consistently rude, and the manager is even worse. If you ever need to return something, be prepared for pushback and attitude. On one occasion, the manager tried to insist that my item was final sale -- despite clear evidence to the contrary. I had to prove her wrong on the spot. More recently, I attempted to return a pair of pants that had arrived dirty from the warehouse the night before. The staff and manager not only refused to accept the return but also refused to even contact the warehouse on my behalf. No apology, no assistance -- just indifference and unprofessionalism. Beyond that, the shopping experience itself is unpleasant. The staff follows you around the store, making the environment feel tense and uncomfortable. They offer insincere, often misleading styling advice -- telling you something is appropriate for a black-tie event when it's clearly not, or insisting a wrong size looks great just to push a sale. I won't be returning to this location again. From now on, I'll be shopping exclusively at department stores and the Upper East Side Alice + Olivia boutique, where the service and professionalism are on an entirely different level. read more

She accused me of staying in the store for 3 hours and trying on the items (I stayed for 20-25 minutes, and I only asked her to bring one item in different size). Bought a pair of pant from Alice and Olivia this year January 2024 and the original price was 395.00 and I caught it on sale for 100.00. With the warning that all sale items were final. When the pants arrive I was shocked. The quality was so poor and the material was awful. These pants looked like I had sewn them together on a sewing machine and I can't sew. The waiste band of the pants was not sewn down they are tacked in several different areas around the waiste band and you can visibly see the thread's raveling!! Walmart have better quality than this. Then I decided to sell them on my consignment store online and the consignment company told me I couldn't sell them on their platform because they are counterfeit. Wow!! Not to sound so pretentious and full of it, but I adore this brand. Ever since I have been able to afford the clothes from here, I have been all about their clothes for work. It is on the high end side, but I stand by this brand. I bought a shirt from their sample sale and it bursted on the side when I was out grabbing drinks with a friend. I brought the shirt over to see if they will fix it for me and yup! They fixed it free of charge and they even washed it! The lady at the shop was super attentive and sweet. Love Alice and Olivia! Love Kelly Bowman! My daughter, Dorothy Lennox, age 21, is a professional dancer, performer and model and she desperately needed a professional wardrobe. After years of only wearing dance clothes and stuff purchased at resale shops, I wanted to help her have a professional wardrobe that would span the gamut from running all over NYC to classes and auditions, to attending meet and greets to walking the red carpet. We found Alice and Olivia on 40th Street in NYC and we found Kelly Bowman there to help us. My daughter now has a wonderful wardrobe which travels well, is comfortable, coordinates between pieces, is timeless and, while not cheap, did not break the bank either. My daughter needed a lot of basic pieces that would mix and match together. She is also a frequent international traveler and she needed items that would travel well, but look put together even if hauled around in a backpack. Kelly, the sales associate that greeted us when we first went to A&O, helped us to find the exact right pieces. She now has a nice pair of black suede pants that she rolled up and took with her to Paris a couple of months ago for an audition. She was able to pair those with some great turtlenecks and a timeless suede jacket for dinner, but she also paired it with a funky zebra-striped shirt and some fun accessories for going out to a club. She then went to the Moulin Rouge and had a fantastic little black dress that packed perfectly. Back home, she has several fun culottes that she pairs with some nice silk shirts and some simple tops for days running around NYC. Finally she has several dresses that are appropriate for red carpet events and performance openings. All of her basics came from Alice and Olivia, and Kelly helped us pick it all out and helped us get items that were on sale and that would work seamlessly together. The quality of A&O runs from good to fantastic and I expect my daughter's pieces, especially the more expensive ones, to last her for a good long time. We will definitely be giving Alice and Olivia more business and we will also rely on Kelly to help continue to build the needed wardrobe. read more

I bought and received 2 items. A silk black and white shirt and a black and white lace camisole. Both in XL. Over $600 with a discount.I always wear a large. I upsized because I've never bought from Alice+Olivia and would rather have clothing be too big instead of too small. I am simply bewildered as to how small both tops are. I'm 5'7" and weigh 145 lbs and 38 C bra size. Nowhere did it say "runs small" or "upsize". I used their size chart and again, only upsized because I didn't want to have to return them incase they ran small. I was so excited when I ordered because they looked beautiful and absolutely thought both tops would fit and possibly be a bit too big. Clearly Alice+Olivia is not meant for women that aren't super thin. I have never in my life seen an XL run so small. And forgot about tucking it in! Please don't show the models with tucked in shirts because there is no material to tuck in. So very disappointed. Both tops are what most would consider cropped tops but nowhere in the description does it say that. Also for the money I was expecting better quality. I kept them and gifted them to a "smaller" friend on her birthday. The celebrities that made this brand famous can afford these clothes but it was a "luxury " for me to purchase. The good: A&O is finally carrying size 14 in select styles for us curvy girls. YAY! The bad: The quality is rubbish and not worth the high price tag. At all. I recently ordered a multicolored midi dress from the online store for $330. The dress was beautiful online. However, it was a different story when I received it. Admittedly, the colors did pop on the dress, but they (the colors) were faded at some of the seams. And the material was flimsy and would probably easily tear. I realize many celeb shop A&O and $330 is low end for them, so the quality may be negligible for them. Me? $330 is high end and I need it to reflect that. WOW how lucky am I ? I am an avid fan of the designer and own several pieces and then I met Rachel. What a gem. I am a certified shopaholic and have worked with many professionals along the way. My experience in working with Rachel has surpassed all others. When I worked in mid town and would call or go to the store Rachel would quickly assemble any and all pieces that she felt appropriate for me. We asked a few times and with an awkward and exaggerated expression, he kept saying it is about to open up. The manger was very disrespectful. We spoke on the phone and she said she was able to make an exchange when I came in person even after telling her I wouldn't be back for a while. Let me just point out the reason I had these pants in the first place is because she put the wrong ones in the bag. Then when I came into the store she shook her head in disappointment after I explained why I was there. She remembered agreeing and was starting the process until she saw when the first purchase was made, which she was aware of at the time of call when she said she would exchange, and said it was too late and there was nothing to be done. Then said if I didn't leave the store, the police would be called. These were very expensive pants and I've been trying to resolve this for months and am getting no help from anyone at Alice + Olivia. Walked in, a large group of employees milling near the front with some other people, no greeting, just weird stares and a clearly icy shoulder. I started to look as I often do, but without any explanation, I was just made to feel very much the intruder. Not sure if there was an event or anything, but there was no signage and no one said boo to me. Poor customer service from Nicole. I was interested in purchasing 3 leather jackets during the friends and family sale. Nicole stated that she could not find the sizes anywhere in the country and would get back to me on Monday. I never heard back from her. I ordered them on line. They were available. This store has very shady business practices. 1. We were visiting from out of state. My wife wanted to try on a dress but we were late for an appointment so the women said she could buy it, try it on, and if it didnt fit return it no problem. So we bought it $550. That same day she brought it back because it didnt fit right and a different person said it would be for store credit only. They basically scammed us out of $500. 2. The credit (we were forced upon) says good online. Fast forward a few months. My wife sees something online she likes so we try and order it. Guess what.... they dont take store credit online. Even though it says directly on the card "good in stores and online." Called their "customer support" and go literally no answer. The girl was clueless and not at all helpful. Alice and Olivia makes quite stylish and beautiful clothing, especially their dresses. I spent a long afternoon in here with the intention of trying on one dress, which with the help of the salesgirl turned into a never ending stream of dresses. The help can be a little overbearing, when often one just wants to be left alone to try on clothes. The clothes- especially anything beaded or sequined is rather overpriced, as I find their workmanship in those areas poor quality. I have seen so many A+O beaded or delicate dresses practically falling apart on the Saks or Bloomies sale racks over the years. That being said, I love their designs, and I am certainly guilty of indulging in their clothing. I am always interested in seeing what they come up with next. The store itself is a nice size and I love the Bryant park location. The salespeople can be helpful or annoying depending on how you prefer to shop. read more

Everyone needs to ignore Dina R.'s review because I went to the same event on 9/10/2009 and got my picture in my email the next day. They do discriminate on looks though so they simply pretended to take pictures of those who didn't quite make the cut. Maybe if she was a bit more cognizant of her appearance (I don't mean to sound superficial... but it is Fashion Night) she may have had her pictures the next day, too. Overall, this store is awesome. The younger staff is annoying and starts judging you the second you close the curtains of their fitting room (only when they're not outside taking their cigarette break *eye roll*) but the manager, Ann, rocks. She's kind of a burned out hippy but easygoing and fun to do business with. IMO, their dresses are the best. They're all around $450. Emma is right about their clothes looking better on taller girls but if you pair them with some high platforms you can bridge the gap between petite and lanky. They sell silver and black ones in the store for $30 incl. tax. Can't beat that! They'll last forever too because they're made out of quality materials. read more

I will never ever buy anything from them. I ordered a mask on April 14. On May 29, I finally got an email that it was shipped. According to the tracking number, it was never shipped two weeks after that email. At first, they were saying that are sending to the doctors first because they are more important, so I was waiting until I got that shipping confirmation. When I asked why the mask was not shipped still even though they sent me email that it was shipped, I was told they can not control when it would be shipped by the third party. Received my face mask today after waiting almost 3 months for it to arrive. They had been in contact with me saying it would likely take 'awhile' but 3 months is a bit much. I do like the mask and they say they will donate one also so that's a good thing thus the 2 star rating. I've been a fan of Alice + Olivia for a while. They finally had a flash sale online. I received the e-mail that there was 55% off on my favourite dress. I click on the link, it asks me to confirm, country of residence, I chose Greece. I see the banner under my dress '55% off'. I click on the dress the discounted price flashes in red! and then suddenly disappears. I took a screen shot and video of this. Send it in the chat. To my delight, 'Maggie Moores' is brought into the conversation to 'help' the situation. I explained nowhere are there conditions 'this offer applies to US residents only' i.e. as Adidas stores do. Or from the point where I was re-directed to the GREEK site there should be zero mention of sales... For example, mytheresa and netaporter do this. They isolate sales to various countries, once youre redirected to your country's site you do not have access to other country's sites. I told Maggie Moores they should honour their word. She replies back with 'honour my word', clearly speaking to me in a condescending tone. She said this is just the way it is. Good luck to Alice + Olivia. Please, shop around on international sites and truly see what customer service is like. You can learn a few lessons from Lululemon, netaporter and mytheresa. Learn your lessons before trying to play ball in the big leagues and on the international scene. This place only gets two stars for the beautiful clothes. I love Alice + Olivia. Zero stars for the store itself. One star for the layout - the split-level design is cool when you first walk in, but the different styles and colors are so scattered across the space that browsing is too inefficient to be enjoyable. Negative one star for the service. TERRIBLE bimbo salesgirls. I politely told them I've worked high-end sales myself, and I would find what I liked on my own. But one idiot with a prom hairstyle from 2005 still insisted on handing me things entirely disparate with my tastes. Worse still, she kept giving me the wrong size. I am a two or a zero, but she sloppily sized me up while I was wearing a heavy overcoat over a suit jacket. I tried on a four and came out in a dress with the entire back and most of the front sagging - the bimbo didn't notice or at least pretended not to. Instead, she offered lots of "oohs" and "aahs" about how great I looked. I tried on the next dress and I was happier with it - might have even purchased it once I got the right size - but the idiot screwed up again. My bright red bra was showing through the wide armholes on the Audrey-style little black dress, so I simply commented that I'd need to run through my lingerie (I worked Parisian lingerie sales, I have quite a collection) to find a low-cut band or bustier that wouldn't show. The girl INSISTED that the dress was designed for a black bra to show through, even though a black bra would have clearly detracted from the elegant silhouette. Since then, I've found the dress modeled online - to be sure I hadn't made an arrogant mistake before posting this review. NO BRA SHOWING. Seriously, we're in a recession and people are begging for jobs. Find someone who wants the swanky sales position in Midtown enough to educate herself and do the job properly. read more

The silhouettes are lovely, but the high price tags do match the low quality of the fabric. I purchased a lovely pair of pants that ripped near the pocket (not on the seam) after the third wearing, and A&O's customer service told me that the fabric ripped due to wear-and-tear and that I should take the product to a seamstress. So, in my opinion, the customer care is of extremely low quality as well. I ordered a dress from Alice and Olivia over the phone with their San Francisco store, on a Monday. I explained that I needed the dress for Saturday, and she said it was no problem and the two day shipping would be plenty of time. I paid the $18 for two day shipping, and when the dress hadn't arrived by Thursday, I called the store I placed the order with. She explained that the dress was not shipped two day shipping, and was accidentally sent ground shipping. There was no effort to try to make the situation right, by sending a dress overnight shipping. They simply explained that I could get the dress by the following Tuesday (which does no good, because the event is tomorrow), or receive my money back. I know this is a big corporation, and someone thing could have been done to make their mistake right. I'm very disappointed with this company. read more

I went in with my girlfriend on a shopping trip and the customer service was excellent! At many high-end stores the attention from the staff is often lacking if you are not looking to spend large sums of money, but Brianna, Rachel, and Kelley were all very helpful and friendly despite the fact that we only spent around $95. The time and courtesy we received from the staff was all the more noteworthy since it was a busy day and some of the customers were rude, obnoxious, and seemed even to be under the influence of illicit substances.
