There are rare pieces that are slightly pricey but its b/c the item isn't like anything you've seen and the craftsmanship is amazing. They also have decent sales and you can walk out with an item that was only $15. The shop owner is super sweet, helpful, and kind. She and her store are a part of my wellness needs. Lol

They threaten you if you complain ! Magdalena the owner will threaten police for any problem…read moreapparently. Buyer BEWARE These people lie to your face and in their responses and the service in this place is just plain terrible then if you complain they want to involve police just like any other discriminatory party. Then they edit their comments to erase their mention of cops it's just ridiculous Their shirts are overpriced for their cheap fabric and the selection is no better than anywhere else Be careful if you're a POC (other than Asian) or LGBT cause they really don't seem comfortable and will watch you like a hawk. The workers don't even know how to tell if a bill is real or not they accuse you of it being fake tho just to decline you If you need souvenirs from Brooklyn go elsewhere Support the botanical garden or museum but this place is not the place to go if you're looking for good service, a good selection, or value for your hard earned dollars. You can walk them through the checks on it and they still don't believe you they are clearly off I haven't used any defamatory language or disrespect. I walked her through the checks, showed her the real bill and then she agreed it was indeed fake. Before I had decided her disrespect was not tolerable. The shop was acting in a way that is disrespectful and the staff needs training on what a bill looks like. Further who would counterfeit a 10$ bill ? No one that's who. This place is just trying to cover its tracks after being caught being rude. Now they're threatening to involve police for a real bill these people have nothing better to do than to discriminate indiscriminately. I've posted the exact bill. As I said before, I showed them each parameter of the bill and now they're saying I'm false. They're lying. They're now threatening me. Yes I took the bill after I showed her it was fake and decided I didn't want the magnet and pin for less than 10$. The video footage will show my taking it from her hand in my frustration, saying this was incredibly rude, and walking out. There was nothing sketchy on my end at all They saw my bill and decided it was fake. This business now threatens police action when they're the ones in the wrong. Magdalena should be ashamed of herself for this ridiculousness. Let's involve the police if you want ! They'll have the exact bill the review in the photos. These people are deranged and liars. Avoid them! Send the security footage ! It shows how I walked you through how the bill was real before you accepted it ! The only reason I walked out with my REAL bill is because you accused me of something you can't even verify !

I found a number of pieces are that surprisingly "global" in fabric and textile design - Japan, India, Indonesia - with simple, clean, architectural drape and shape. The owner has a fine eye for such pieces which are hard to come by. Amanda was working when I dropped by and she is kind, helpful, really sweet - and she knows her merchandise inside and out. She's also a fine artist/painter, so her eye is fabulous. Btw: this is a fine place to buy unique items that can't be found in every other "Brooklyn" boutique in town because irony and hipsterism are held in check. Whew!

I'm happy to see they moved east, and I went in on this overcast, wet day with a little dog I was walking; they liked her and welcomed her. There was a sale going on, and although I was quite attracted by the beads and jewelry--they have a great representation of Tuareg jewelry--what won me over were the re-purposed rice and feed bags, made into totes and backpacks. I ended up getting one with a smiling golden retriever on it--made out of a dog-food bag, naturally--at 30% off! They have gongs, incense burners, and brassware--and cymbals! Don't tell your kids!--they also have boxes with paint and ink sticks, as well as papers to write on and blank books to write in. (Uh, full disclosure: I broke the glass cover on one of these paint boxes when I brushed by the display; they saw, but didn't make me buy it.) I don't have the space or disposable income for most of their decorative items, so I'm--relatively--safe!
