This door husband in the Brooklyn community for over 2 decades and they still maintain the same quality as they did when they opened in the beginning. The owner is West African, his designs are authentic, and the fabric are fantastic. I've purchased lots of his t-shirts (high quality prints and unique, simple designs). I recently a purchased a face mask. Soild, just like everything else I've ever purchased here.

Cool Hand Lu says: A Brooklyn staple and entrepreneur. Honored to do my part in supporting his business. Being a Brooklyn native I have long been aware of Moshood and passed by his Fort Greene location plenty of times. Although not being one at that time to wear African print, I always admired his designs and the pride I would see in the people wearing them. Having his store become a part of Restoration Plaza was been a delight to see as Restoration has been a solid pillar of the the Bedford-Stuyvesant community for generations. As part of my efforts to spend more of my dollars within my community, I decided to finally purchase a Moshood creation and bought a mask. An unfortunate necessity of the times, but a perfect opportunity to support his business. I met Moshood when I entered his shop and like most if not all people can attest to, he is a very friendly and welcoming person. He definitely engages in a manner which makes coming into his store more than just a business transaction. The mask I bought is a great looking design and has received numerous compliments. Its quality also make the price more than worth it. My only disappointment is that the mask is a bit tighter than is comfortable for my face. I was hoping that it would stretch a bit over time but it hasn't seemed to do so yet. I guess that's also a testament to the material's quality and durability. Making the ear loops a little longer would be best for extended wearing. I'm still going to get another pattern though. All in all, a perfect addition to the Restoration Plaza and to Bed-Stuy. I brought back some fabric from Accra and I'll be taking it to Moshood for a dashiki and a matching mask. I look forward to his shop being an even more prominent fixture in the years to come.

Moshood won't let you down. As an African I wanted to see a larger variety of fabrics and materials. Majority of the store is decked in linen but I must say I was impressed with the simplicity yet adequacy of the items in this store. Not overdone, no attempt to be pretentious. The owner and staff are very friendly. We laughed the entire time I was in the store, they both made every effort to cater to my specific need. I had to be in Michigan for a concert and because I had lost a lot of weight over the past few years I needed something that looked right. It was all last minute so I hopped to Brooklyn from Manhattan just to grab whatever I could find but yelp helped me find Moshood. If you are African you know we don't just throw something on, its gotta look right and fit the event. I was going to be on stage singing so this outfit would be literally front and center because I stand 6.4" in the center of a singing group. The outfit worked better than I expected. I was pleased and so were my friends and fans. Thanks Moshood. I think I'll be back for the white one. See you soon...and P.S the other 2 places I told y'all I had to check out in Brooklyn that day...has nothing on y'all. You're it!! Thanks again.

I have followed Mashood since the beginning when he was located in the Bronx. He's always been friendly, kind, and professional.

I was having trouble deciding between pants and a dashiki or a grand buba (essentially an African poncho).

The sales lady was attentive but not annoyingly following me around or anything. She let me do my own shopping until she noticed me looking for children sizes, then she asked if she could help me. She was knowledgeable about the products and over all pleasant. I wish I got her name so I could give her a shot out lol. Would recommend this store if you are looking for cute and unique items for children at a pretty fair price. I ended up with the cutest hat, that my daughter absolutely loved! You'll find tons of cutesy, well-designed things from several recognizable brands. It's the kind of place where you can pop in and easily find a charming gift or a special outfit for a little one. The quality of what we saw was alright, nothing extraordinary, but perfectly fine, and the prices felt similarly alright, matching the quality you get. It's a sweet, straightforward spot. If you're in the area and looking for something charming for a child, it's definitely worth a quick look inside.
