Went in to this store for the first time and had really one of the worst shopping experiences of my life. I walked in and was instantly barked at by a male employee who had some kind of serious attitude problem. "Try on those sunglasses, they're reallllly cheap," with an inflection that made me feel like he was profiling me and suggesting cheap would be perfect for my appearance. I don't know if he was actually an employee or the best friend of the female employee, who was busy asking him his thoughts on Kanye West and Kim Kardashian. But I made a joke and tried to move on. I felt like browsing so I looked around the tiny store and didn't find much of anything. Then I decided to actually try on some sunglasses in another part of the store that looked exactly like some sunglasses I used to love but lost. I took a picture of myself in them to send to a friend for evaluation, but before I was done I heard the male employee saying "TAKE THOSE OFF! YOU LOOK SO UGLY IN THOSE!" I turned around, literally shocked that someone would be so rude - and thinking they might be joking. The guy wasn't, and the girl who worked behind the counter agreed that I looked ugly. Now I don't know about you, but having worked in stores as both an employee or a manager, I'm not sure I would ever encourage my employees to tell customers they look ugly in clothing or apparel they seem to be interested in. It was a very stupid thing to do, since I instantly put the glasses down and turned around as the male employee or friend or whoever shouted, as passive aggressive as could be, "Have a nice dayyyyy!" And I will never go back. I would suggest not shopping in this store unless you like being told you look ugly or being treated rudely by the staff who must think they're in a sitcom or some kind of real-life version Romy and Michelle. I hope the manager of the store will either retrain her employees or just clean house and start anew with people who have manners and know when to tell their unkind friends to shut up and clear out. An apology is in order. read more
