Stumbled in on my way to the subway station and it was unlike any shop I've seen. I just came in to get something to drink, but they also have a selection of clothing items -- I didn't look too closely at them because it didn't seem like my vibe, but just the idea of having coffee in the front and shopping in the back is super modern and unique. I had to wait a bit for anyone to help me at the register. There was only one person working behind the counter, so I don't really hold it against them, but I'll say I was so close to leaving the store because no one had said anything like "I'll be right with you," or "So sorry about the wait." It was a weird moment in time where part of me thought I was invisible because it didn't even seem like anyone had seen me, from the employees in the store to the person behind the counter. I did end up sticking around, though, to get this matcha latte which I also thought was not as good as others I've had. The matcha flavor was decently strong, but more bitter than others. I also had asked for a shot of honey to be added to the drink which I thought would sweeten it for me, but I couldn't taste it at all. Oh My Goodness!!!! This place is about a block from my apt. so I just had to check it out. Can I give them SIX stars cuz they deserve it. Really nice coffee - Says the Brit who grew up on tea (sipped with the pinky sticking out if course) Great vibe. Cool & friendly and 'real' staff. By real I mean no fake smiles. WiFi is pretty fast too. Oh and do try their Bliss Balls. Great taste and will totally take the edge off you're appetite for a bit. read more

Coffee + Clothing fusion on the corners of Tompkins Ave and Monroe St, smack dab in the heart of Bedstuy. Very well curated boutique in terms of high end, quality items. From purses to unique jewelry and interesting clothing. I haven't had a chance to pop in for coffee. Surprisingly this Saturday was the first time I'd been in to peruse after living a block away for nearly 2 years. Because of the hours I always miss them during the week and typically don't walk that way on weekends, glad I had time! Great concept! But the staff was needs a boost in enthusiasm, I wasn't really sure who actually worked there to be honest. I live for their honey lattes with soy milk, they also have croissants from this amazing place. They carry unique while pricey clothing and jewelry pieces. There is a sale section though that my friends like to browse through. They have a frequent buyer card (which I always lose and they happily replace). I walked in and was there for nearly 10 minutes before someone even acknowledged me. The woman working went back to working on her laptop. She was so oblivious I had thought she was just a customer. I can only describe the rest of my experience as cold and awkward. If this is the future of Bed Stuy then that would be unfortunate. Even the coffee was weird. This store is incredibly beautiful. They offer a really interesting mix of high and low (ok, low-ish) priced womenswear pieces from emerging designers. The selection is impeccably curated and ranges from cool and wearable to totally avant-garde. They also stock some really interesting jewelry and accessories. I've never tried the coffee but I like that it's available! There's some window/lounge-y seating in the front. I could see how some people might mistake the vibe for being a little standoff-ish/pretentious upon first glance, but seriously everyone I've ever interacted with in there has been super friendly and nice. By far the coolest concept store on the block. I am excited to go back & purchase some magical items.

I moved into the neighborhood early this year and I was so excited to find out that there was a coffee shop near me. I walked in pleasantly said a good morning to the gentleman his name was Tre. We exchanged Instagrams and I thought everything was good. I went back again and his approach was very standoffish. His demeanor was cold. Due to work I became very busy and my schedule changed. Upon returning I asked for my regular maple latte which he never got right and I was told you don't come here anymore so it's not from the menu. I ordered a regular latte instead that by the way was pushed to me. I didn't take these encounters personal because I know everyone can have a rough day. I told him thank have a great day and goodbye and there was no response. To avoid any more encounters like that I told my niece to get coffee for me. At this time he asked my niece " you're here getting coffee for the queen now?" I took this comment as an insult. I still continued to support them due to the convenience of being right in my neighborhood. While purchasing their coffee I usually look around the store to see what items I like and if anything catches my eye I buy it. Recently I asked one of the staff to put a dress on hold for me just for 30 minutes. One of the staff (I can't recall her name) was extremely helpful and corporative about it. She placed it on hold and in less than 30 min I zelled the payment for the dress because they don't take credit cards. After this I continued buying my coffee there. Three days after I came home from work and while getting my coffee I saw another item that I liked but unfortunately as I mentioned before they don't take credit card payments so in order to complete this purchase I would have to go home and get ready and that would take like 30 minutes but I was told no by Tre. It's against store policy he said so I went home. The next morning I went back for coffee and saw the item was still there so I made the purchase then. I said to him I am very disappointed in the customer service especially since I support Sincerely Tommy frequently. I was told by Tre that his boss will not bend over for me and neither is he. I said to him this is not matter of bending over for me it's a matter of spotting a good customer when you see one. It was so coincidental that a couple days after that I met who I believe was the owner. During our interaction she was very polite and friendly. Now that morning no one in the store was wearing a mask including the owner. The next day I went back. A few seconds or so before entering the store I outed my marijuana. Upon entering the store I was told that I cannot be in here smelling like marijuana and I get that I had a smell because I was smoking. He then accused me of smoking in the store which was so not true because I just outed my marijuana a few seconds ago. My niece was next to me and she looked at me in shock be she didn't see smoking in the store.He then told me I cannot be in the store because I was not wearing a mask. I told him that this was my last time coming to the store. He told me "that's fine " very rudely. I left a tip and I took my coffee and said goodbye politely. Now because I love their clothing I reached out to one of the staff who I had pleasant encounters with if she can she DM any pictures of new items that she think I may like. She took a few minutes to get back to me and when she did I was told they don't do personal shopping. I have a shopped at Rick Owen, Christian Louboutin, Mackage, Louis Vuitton and much more designers and this is something that I have never heard of. How is sending pictures of items to frequent shoppers personal shopping? Support black businesses they say... give me a break! read more

Sincerely Tommy has become a staple of community engagement since is 2014 opening. I feel welcomed to sit & work for as long as I need. The coffee (conflict free) is amazing and the clothing is stellar (a work of art). But more importantly, I'm not bombarded with the usual hurry-up and buy, now leave vibe. It's lucrative for a store to expect customers to make mis-guided purchases-- which I then hate myself for. I go in and learn about the designers and understand why these pieces were chosen. The customer service is like shopping with your best friend! Which I love, it's genuine. Shopping has become a numbing/scary process. Sincerely Tommy is my new closet-- I leave feeling like a conscious contributor to small business. Every piece is unique to you. Thank the stars for this space. read more
