Their cold brew was so delicious, especially with some liquid sugar and whole milk. The vegan chocolate chunk cookie is loaded with chocolate and tastes amazing. Such a fantastic coffee spot and specialty goods store! We had so much fun browsing the really large and fantastically curated artisan goods here and getting to wrap up with some of their signature drinks. We got some pantry items from here (a bit pricey but artisan), as well as ordered their campfire latte the matcha soda. Both drinks were amazing -- novel, delicious, and well priced. The matcha soda is incredibly refreshing and bubbly, with a slight sweetness and citrus notes. The campfire latte was smoky and really rich (recommend getting this latte hot to maximize the flavors). Came here when I was passing by as it seemed really interesting. The inside of the cafe is also a specialty goods store, and you can find all kinds of snacks, drinks, and trinkets there. Their menu also offers some unique drinks but has a large menu of classic cafe items that you may see. I got the coconut matcha and was a bit underwhelmed. Although the matcha wasn't bad, I was expecting to have some kind of coconut flavor or something infused--it was just coconut shavings at the top. Upon entering and getting caught in a flash flood of natural light, I realized Upstate Stock is like a specialty grocery store, trinket shop, Medmen, clothing store, and coffee shop all blended into one. Great vibe... rolling with Big Bro (model) he's just going to put you on some great spots. I got to the front of the coffee line, and noticed a pretzel croissant. I had never seen such a beautiful fusion of 2 seemingly contradictory pastries. This is the kind of innovation that makes me optimistic about the future of mankind. My only cause for hesitation was the pretzel croissant was a TANK, and I didn't want to be bogged down on the track as I needed to impress Big Bro. I left it up to the croissant gods and asked the barista "Is the Pretzel Croissant good?" She responded "Idk, I've never had it to be honest." Damn. I wanted any kind of reason to pull the trigger on it, but nonetheless, the croissant gods had spoken. As always, I got an iced americano and a butter croissant. Quality. Honestly this was a top 5 croissant I've had in the city, but it's not touching C&B over in Alphabet City. The clear #1 seed. When we were in line, one of the baristas asked if we wanted a free iced oat milk latte, as they had accidentally made an extra one. I thought that was so sweet, as usually baristas will just throw it out. A great touch.... Big bro said no though because it had too much sugar. Did I mention he is a model? Here's why: After falling in love with their Confetti Fine Gauge Upcycled Cotton Watchcap that just kept getting sold out, we finally made it to their Brooklyn location. These watchcaps are made out of 100% eco cotton! Already with this, I'm sold! The colors we liked weren't available, so we ended purchasing them online. It was absolutely still worth the drive! Hubby scored a pair of gloves that he's obsessed with. This beautiful corner coffee shop and gift shop has it all. Mens clothing, apothecary, stationary, pasta, gift ideas, books and so much more! During COVID-19 as of December 2021: Beautiful corner coffeeshop and gift shop all in one without the indoor sit-down. Actually, Upstate Stock has been in Greenpoint for years and I was finally able to visit it this year. It has so much "cool" items inside from food, drinks, bath salts, jams, ceramics, incense, tea and more! They even have a clothing section made for the store from hats to tees. It's a shop celebrating upstate NY (think clothing with fish and deer art) with scents of the outdoors and literal outdoor-woodsy items. It's a perfect store for anyone into knick knacks of outdoorsy things. It also features ethically and locally made snacks with a high price tag. It's definitely a low-key Williamsburg store, although it can get crowded. I love visiting when I like getting lost in their curation and end up buying a unique candle. Upstate Stock has a barista at the counter if you're looking for a specialty latte of theirs or just a plain old Americano when in Brooklyn. Service is fast and the drinks are a life saver after running 5ks by McCarran Park. They have outdoor seating if you like to brave the cold (in the winter) as well. Great on summer days. Turns out that Sunday afternoon was not the ideal day to walk from Greenpoint to Williamsburg-- cold and rainy. Stopped in here to get out of the unexpected weather. Matcha shots seemed steep at $4, so I decided to upgrade with their coconut matcha latte for $4.75. They didn't charge me to sub in almond milk (though it seems like they might do it for the more standard drinks). It was pretty good-- definitely high quality matcha, and the little bit of coconut oil came out subtly. Didn't love the coconut flakes on top. The vibe is relaxed and #artisanal. The crowd is very BK, and while seating is not abundant, there were plenty of people working away on laptops. It was a nice atmosphere to read and warm up in. I browsed through products for a while-- think local, small batch, organic, etc jewelry, candles, pantry staples. Nice menswear section in the back. Bumping this up to 5 stars even though I didn't love my drink because their bathrooms are immaculate! Very pretty with plants, off-white glossy tiling, and a candle burning. It was a very cool atmosphere and hip place to sit in and work on your computer but I wasn't happy with my experience. The workers were very friendly to the customers in front of me, I think they were friends, but as soon as I went up to order the friendliness stopped and the lady working acted like it was an inconvenience to help me. I can't express enough how many lovely hours I've spent sitting at their large communal table reading a book with some excellent coffee. They were so friendly and did not bat an eye at the fact that I spent hours there studying one time. Also loved the selection of merchandise and was able to purchase some high quality and unique gifts for friends (skin care/cosmetics, candles, etc.). I also really appreciate the fact they think about customers' and employee HEALTH in the time of COVID (e.g., explicit policies restricting restrooms from being used by any customer so they can ensure a clean environment for not only customers but also their staff). This is my favorite coffee shop. I think it's the only place I can grab a coffee, work for an hour or so, and not come home with my clothes covered in that stale coffee smell (you know what I'm talking about). It always smells amazing, and there is just something really soothing and relaxing about this place. They keep a curated, high-quality collection of food items and signature coffee drinks. Their campfire latte is a better, more layered version of salted caramel, with smoked maple syrup and chunks of smoked salt on the top. It's also fabulous for vegans since we can't have caramel, and their almond milk is nice and creamy.
