As soon as you walk in, it just makes you instantly happy and seriously, if I could, I'd totally add every single thing to the cart or like at least 80% of it hehe. From candles to cute and fun unique NYC things, sayings and gifts. This store is everything. I was in NYC for a couple of days and decided to pop into this store on the spur of the moment because it was close to my hotel. I wasn't really expecting much (I didn't expect them to carry my size and didn't think I would have much luck if they did), but I had a terrific experience. Jordan was patient and thorough and careful and kind. She made sure I was comfortable, sized me correctly, and gave me a ton of options to try on. They were all beautiful. She explained the benefits and drawbacks of the different styles in terms of how they would fit me, and I came away with five fabulous bras that gave me a new attitude and a whole new appreciation for my weird-shaped boobs. The selection is amazing and the staff is so friendly and helpful. This visit was the highlight of my trip. I look forward to returning and can't imagine buying bras anywhere else. GO! You will be delighted.

A person who worked there made eye contact as we entered and literally just stared- I gave a normal half smile anticipating a "hello" or "welcome" from her, but she just looked at us. We browsed around until my friend ASKED for help. At no point throughout the entire time did anyone offer me assistance. I found myself a bra, I asked to try it on, I did, I bought it. Not abnormal, but did not align with expectations. Always baffles me when people working in customer service and retail positions will ignore people trying to spend money in the store. Would not recommend nor return.

With her new location, Karin, the owner, now has a studio space that you can rent out by the hour or monthly(!). This is such a great addition to the neighborhood because some apartments are so small that you don't have room to do anything, so being able to rent a space by the hour is so beneficial. She has facilities for screen printing, sewing and basic studio space. On the ground level there is a store made of up artists around New York. They have things for men, women and babies. T shirts, dresses, shirts, you name it. Handmade cards are available as well. Need supplies? Karin has it! You can get almost anything you need from here. If you don't see it, you can ask, as she or her employees will know where it is, or will order it for you. I love this new space so much and can't wait to take many of the classes and workshops that are being offered!! Check out the site!!

This place is great, well stocked with equipment, and very reasonably priced for your own private office space, and the spaces themselves are larger than other places I looked before renting. Karin does a really great job running the place, she's always available at a moment's notice and always makes sure that the place is maintained and everyone has all that they need. The other artists in this space are so talented and such a pleasure to be around, so the community aspect of Better Than Jam is also a huge bonus. It's right off the L Train and super accessible, and in a hip part of Bushwick with lots of street art and good little places to grab food. I highly recommend this place, it was a really great part of my experience here in my final months in New York and I have zero complaints or regrets. I know as of this posting they've got some space available if you're looking.

I mean, it's not your $5 stop shop, but you really get some quality authentic pieces for a great price. I found the most perfect pair of red trousers for $35. I wont even have to get them tailored and I'm 5ft!!! Listen, there's an amazing selection of clothes that you can tell was thoughtfully picked out for the store. The woman working was super attentive, but not overbearing. She noticed I was carrying a few items and kindly asked if I wanted to put them by the dressing room. The decor was inspiring, there were incenses going and Solange's album playing in the background. I basically never wanted to leave. Definitely recommend and definitely going back!! True to their website description they carry rare vintage finds, independent designers, and unique pieces (think 70s flower print jeans, late 60s blue snakeskin turtleneck dresses, strapless one-piece swimsuits, etc.). Every item of clothing was more beautiful and well-made than the last, and many are also made sustainably. This place is a great option for anyone looking to upgrade their closet to a more capsule type wardrobe or looking to downsize with a focus on quality over quantity. Moreover, many of their clothes have flattering cuts like straight leg or high-waisted to fit a variety of body types. That is so refreshing for a store that offers high-end, beautifully constructed clothes, because gals like me can actually FIT in them and feel incredible. Bravo, Love Only.
