Ordered spicy chicken chow mein. Cooked very well with good flavor. Unfortunately it was not spicy enough for my taste. I asked for raw chili peppers. The guy brought me Siracha from my home country of Thailand.... Took some time but the brought me raw chili peppers.

Absolutely loved the food here. The momos and chowmein were perfectly spiced and flavorful--just the right street-style Indo-Chinese taste I was craving. Even the biryanis and chicken curry were impressive, with rich flavors and great portion sizes. A great spot if you're craving both Indian and Indo-Chinese dishes done right. Been visiting since 10 Years! P.S: some construction work going on inside the dining area.

We ordered food for catering. They promised us food at 5:30 PM and they were not ready with the food till 6 PM. The staff was so unprofessional (they were literally swearing saying they're overwhelmed with orders) and they said they reopen at 5PM so they were late which made us wonder why they would agree to 5:30 PM. They hurriedly prepared the dishes and the packing was so bad that the curry leaked in my car. I spent more getting the car cleaned than the entire catering order. On a side note, the food was tasty though. Just need some more professionally behaved staff.

8/7/24 Himalayan Kitchen 820 E El Camino Real Ste C Mountain View, CA 94040 We tried this for lunch on a Wednesday. It's in a setback strip mall so there's lots of parking in front. They offer a lunch buffet and I asked if they had Naan which was brought to our table after we filled our plates. The interior is a cozy table setup and was fairly full while we were there. The buffet choices had many standard offerings like Tandoori Chicken and they had my favorite, Goat Curry. The bone in goat was very meaty and the gravy was not very spicy. Overall the flavor of the food was on the mild but tasty side. Service was helpful and good. I paid with cash at the counter and got a discount. It's a good value and repeatable.

Big. Bang. For. Your. Buck! This massive dosa I got from Himalayan Kitchen was only $9 and it made me (a pretty big eater) quite full! I can't think of the last time I've ever spent less than $10 at a restaurant and left me satisfied the way this amazing Madras Masala Dosa did. The service and ambiance was also on point as the servers attended to my every need. I am 100% coming back here to try out their Himalayan Special Tandoori. Everybody driving by the Mountain View and Sunnyvale area must give this place a try, you will not regret it!

Food is amazing. The Nann is very large. Service was very attentive and friendly. I saw they also had Buffett I believe on the weekends? Nice. Love this spot

My friend and I were experiencing a particularly strong craving for Indian food and came across Himalayan Kitchen! We went on a Saturday afternoon around 1pm and were seated promptly for their Indian buffet. It cost $25 per person, and you get a slight discount if you pay with cash. I was pretty impressed with the selection of dishes they had. Some of the dishes that I immediately remember are butter chicken, tandoori chicken, paneer tikka masala, goat curry, chicken, curry, spinach daal, biryani, tindora fry, chaat, and more. They also bring you as much naan as you want to the table. For drinks, they had mango lassi, chai, and sodas. Finally, they also had a decent selection of desserts. I think the selection slightly varies on the day. I thought the food was all super solid. It definitely hit the spot but didn't blow me away necessarily. I enjoyed eating everything and enjoyed the amount of variety they had. I was nowhere close to eating my money's worth, but I was still quite content at being able to try so many different things. Overall, I recommend this place! I will probably be back for their buffet whenever my next craving hits (which will probably be pretty soon). Service was fine as well, and the environment was standard. I think the only strange thing was their floor was weirdly slippery.

Good food, generous portion, reasonable pricing. Vijayawada Boneless Chicken Dum Biryani - highly recommend if you love spicy food. Very flavorful and it has a great kick. The portion is huge and it could easily be split into three meals. If it's too spicy, just dilute it with the raita and it'd still taste great. If you can't handle any spice at all, I'd recommend staying away because it's pretty spicy. Chicken 65 - highly recommend. It was crispy and addicting. The onion surprisingly pairs very well with the chicken (as in, eat it in the same bite). Andhra Spicy Dosa - the dosa was bigger than I expected (this was my first time having dosa). I didn't like the curry dip that came on the side, but everything else (dosa itself, the potato filling, and the other sauces) was great. Momo - I enjoyed it. It's not the best out there, but it's still tasty. Chicken Tikka Masala - just okay; I've had better

My husband and I love Himalayan kitchen but last night the experience was something else. We ordered Vijaywada paneer biryani last night and we got something else. When called and asked about the mistake in the order the guy on the phone said to come tomorrow morning and they will exchange it for the original order. Did not even offer about the refund amount. Such a shame.

TLDR: Excellent Fried Chicken!…read more I was just chatting with my friend about picking up Chik-Fil-A for dinner one night, and he suggested Chicken G. There's one in Fremont, but also on in Mountain View, which isn't too far from me. So on a different night, I decided to give this place a try. Short answer: it's REALLY good! Long answer: It's a very very small place. It's got that 80's vibe to it... it's like Falafel Drive-In but with chicken! The staff was nice... although it seemed like there was only 1 front-of-the-house ( I couldn't see in the back). And he was doing EVERYTHING... preparing the food, packaging it up, taking orders.... And it wasn't like the place was super busy at 7:30p on a Thursday. In fact, no one was in front of me, but I still had to wait 5 minutes or so for him to take my order. But finally the order was fired up, and he immediately told me it will take about 15 minutes, because everything is made fresh. Nice! I kinda lost track doom-scrolling, so I peeked my head up every once in a while. I guess he thought I was being impatient, but he assured me, 5 more minutes... Eventually, he called me over, and I took the thing home. Keep in mind, with traffic... it took about 30 min to get home. So the food was getting a little cool. But it was still VERY crunchy, and tasty. My wife immediately took a bite and said it was SO GOOD. She had the 2 tenders and a side (french fries), while I had the chicken burger. The burger was HUUUUGE. I yielded and got a knife to cut the thing in half so I could eat it properly. Even though it was 30 min... the chicken was still super crispy and had a nice satisfying crunch. It blew CFA out of the water, tbh. Tho I still love CFA! Anyway, this place is really really good. It does 1 thing and does it super well. I'd like to try it again, but eat it there fresh and see if that makes a difference. As it stands, I'm struggling to think of a place better than this.

The hummus came with a few slices of pita, which our server refilled without us even asking. The octopus was just okay as I thought it could have been more tender, but flavor was good. For my main, I ordered the red velvet salmon ($39). It was cooked perfectly and served on top of a bed of spinach and mashed potatoes. I was pretty stuffed after I consumed about 70% of the plate, and staff graciously boxed up the rest. They also gave us a small birthday treat on the house. I think it was a small brownie and vanilla ice cream. Perfect for a small bite for everyone without the guilt of overeating. There is a 4% living wage surcharge though and I want to say it's clearly labeled on the menu as it should be, but I honestly can't remember. I'm seeing more and more of these pop up around Palo Alto, and I do wonder if it truly all benefits staff or if it just goes into the owner's pockets. Some places make this an optional fee, so it's just confusing if we should blindly trust where our money goes. Anyway, that's just my soapbox. I know the restaurant industry is tough.

After a few minutes, he kindly came back and provided us with cold bottles of water, which we appreciated. I would highly recommend that the owner consider installing air conditioning or fans for the comfort of both customers and employees. The bread basket that came with the pepper and pomegranate molasses dip very good, and it was a great start. The pomegranate gave it a hint of sweetness which balanced the heavier pepper flavor The uc boreks were flaky and crispy, and came out hot af. loved the zucchini and cheese filling! The lamb was full of flavor and came with rice and a Greek salad. That being said, the flatbread had a lot of oil, since the skewer was placed on top. The lamb itself was soft and had no gamey taste. The greek salad complimented and contrasted the heavy and rich tastes. We also ordered the pistachio kunefe and ice cream for dessert. The texture of the kunefe was delicious! I loved the stretchy sweet mozzarella and the crispy crunchy of the toasted phyllo dough. We got a side of mastic ice cream to go with the kunefe. slight licorice and herby taste.
