11/8/2025 RRR Biryanis 856 W El Camino Real Mountain View, CA 94040 We went there for lunch on a Saturday. It's in a small strip mall on ECR between Castro and Shoreline. There was lots of parking probably because the other businesses were closed. It's a clean smallish interior with contemporary chair and bench seating. We ordered the Garlic Naan, Chicken Tikka Masala and Mutton Curry from the menu and our food was brought shortly. The Naan was very good with lots of minced garlic and toasted on the outside and soft on the inside. Both curries were flavorful with good quantities of protein. My first mutton chunk was very chewy but the other pieces were tender. With both asked for the spicy level and there was a slight mouth burn. Our food was excellent, a good value with good service. We ordered a delivery of biryani - special paneer biryani and egg dum biryani. And in short I wouldn't recommend this place for biryani. Funny story- I'd called them before placing the order and requested if they could take care of putting a good quantity of paneer coz I was doubtful of it, reading some reviews and also requested for extra salan. They said I won't have any issues. It'll all be great. Outcome: The quantity of biryani or paneer was not an issue for us. However, check how they gave me an extra container for salan but not actually salan. :)Divided one into two, lol. The taste wasn't great, lacked flavor - two of us didn't like it. We got 3 biryanis on Sept 28th, 2025 for lunch (door dash order): this was after a cricket game watch party. One of the biryanis (chicken) was sent spoilt: it's not only tasted odd, but also smelled. That is just not acceptable. Giving a day old biryani : I believe most restaurants in the area likely do, but sending an improperly stored and old biryani that's already spoilt is terrible. Close to 5 stars! We went here on a thurs night and the place was empty but there were lots of people coming in for to go orders. Ambiance wise this place is definitely casual, very bright lights and a little cold inside but I do like that it was quiet and they didn't have music playing on the tv personally so that we could talk easily. We got 4 biryanis. I tried the RRR fish biryani and the egg biryani. I liked the fish biryani a bit more it was a bit spicier and more flavorful but all of the biryanis were really good! Generous amounts of meat/egg and flavor was really good! Reason why I took off a star was because spice levels were unpredictable, the chicken biryani was allegedly veryyyy spicy although good some people in our party couldn't eat it. Fish biryani is the next spiciest followed by egg biryani and the ghost lamb biryani which was very mild. We technically ordered everything at regular spicy and the egg biryani was supposed to be more spicy. All the food was good so it's relatively minor and the portions are very big. On top of that the Telugu server was super nice and attentive and he also offered to replace the spicy biryani (we opted not to bc we already ordered too much food for 4 ppl) which was super kind of him! Another weird thing is that biryanis came out in like 7 min intervals... this isn't usually something that bothers me but it was weird to have one biryani to be cold at the time that the third one came out. Minor issue though. We also got the crispy corn and the chikoo shake - these were so delicious I would definitely reccomend !! Everyone liked the chikoo shake we ordered more as we left. read more

We ordered the RRR Kodi combo, Palamuru Chicken Biryani and Double-Ka-Meetha. Service was great, we received the order quickly with no wait times. Combo: 5/5 The combo was great, the chapatis were super soft and amazingly thin, tasted perfect !! The chicken curry tasted great. This was cooked with cornish hen. Not everyone has a liking for it, my husband found it to be fatty and chewy. Biryani: 3/5 Biryani disappointed us big time. Chicken in the biryani was spicy and flavorful but the overall dish lacked the punch. Double-ka-meetha & Gulab Jamun: 2/5 They both tasted too sweet. This place is not consistent. The biriyani had no flavor the second time I visited. I am quite sure they didn't use enough sauce. The dosas are good, but a little bland. I tried ordering the same biriyani one more time - again no flavor. The place is not consistent. I think when the chef is not around, the rest of the guys do not know how to mix the sauce. They just do not know how much sauce to put in the biriyani for various spice levels. Iam done with this place - not worth my time driving all the way to Mountain View. Biryanis, especially Vegetarian Biryanis came a long way. For a very long time, I gave up on my favorite dish at restaurants as the vegetarian version of it was an after thought. At RRR, it isn't so. There are plenty of vegetarian options and they all tasted amazing. We went there at 10PM, 30minutes before they close and ordered couple of their Biryanis. We ended up staying 30minutes after the close as we had a lovely chat with the owners. Their passion impressed me a lot. They are thinking about how they can be consistent as they grow. While talking to them, I felt they have their hearts and heads in the right place. Here is what we ordered: - Karivepaku (curry leaf) chicken appetizer: this was a unique appetizer, it obviously had a good amount of curry leaf but in a good way. I will order this in the future for munching in dawats (parties). - Shai mutton biryani: We LOVED this, the meat pieces were coated with a green paste that was delicious, I regret not ordering one of this dish - Pandu mirchi chicken biryani: Beware of this, it can be spicy to some people. As you can imagine it will have red mirchi and flakes in the meat - Palamuru boneless chicken biryani: This was decent, I guess the mutton biryani really dominated our palate. I have ordered takeout a couple of times from RRR. Ghee roast mutton biryani was generous in its portion size with lots of flavorful and well cooked mutton. I have never had Palamuru chicken curry before as it's not a regular menu item on South Bay Indian restaurants. IMO RRR's Palamuru chicken was cooked well and was just the right amount of spice for my medium spice preference. Service was fast and pleasant. I ordered their "California Special Mutton Biryani" for $15.49, the good part about the biryani was the rice and spices, the bad part was there were little, very few pieces of mutton, mine had mostly pieces of multiple bone fragments and only 2-3 1 inch block mutton pieces. I had tried paneer biryani from some other popular biryani places but never liked it. But the paneer biryani here is very good. Salna tasted more like peanut Chutney than mirchi salsa but it was ok. I have been a regular at their Fremont location. This place is one of the rare Biryani Connoisseurs existed in the bay are. Offering different types of biryani, each with its own unique taste, aroma and notable delicious spices - ALL of are mouth watering! The basmati rice is always soft, moist. and fluffy. Made to order on a relatively short time - even when they have catering event with large amount and varieties to serve. I usually order jumbo size from them for my potluck item and they never fail to impress every one in the gathering. The jumbo size comes with complimentary appetizer and dessert.
