They installed a high-quality system that has performed extremely well over the years. At one point, both of our inverters experienced a manufacturer-related issue. In fact, Solar Optimum identified the problem before we even realized something was wrong. They worked directly with the manufacturer to secure a replacement inverter at no cost and handled the installation quickly and professionally. When it came time to replace our roof, we didn't hesitate to reach out to Solar Optimum again. Their GAF Master Elite certification and the advantages of having the same company manage both the solar and roofing work provided tremendous peace of mind. Before conducting a site inspection, they required me to sign a contract and pay a $500 deposit. After completing the site plan, they informed me that a panel upgrade was necessary and that the battery would need to be installed in an inconvenient location. These changes increased the project cost by an additional $3,700, bringing the total well above the original quote. I was surprised by such a significant price increase and decided to cancel the project. I then requested a refund of my $500 deposit. It took nearly two months and more than ten phone calls before I finally received an answer. At that point, I was told that the deposit was nonrefundable because I had signed the contract. I find it unreasonable that Solar Optimum required a signed contract and deposit before conducting a proper site assessment, then substantially increased the price afterward and refused to refund the deposit when I chose not to proceed. In my view, a thorough site inspection should have been completed before providing a quote and requiring a commitment from the customer. Based on my experience, I would advise potential customers to carefully review the contract terms and understand the refund policy before signing.

Unfortunately, their post-install customer support and business ethics are nonexistent. I referred a friend who completed their installation months ago. I was explicitly promised a $500 referral bonus for this. After months of waiting, I tried following up multiple times privately to give them a chance to make it right, but I am now being completely ignored. It's a shame because I have several neighbors here in Fountain Valley who are currently shopping around for solar and battery storage. I was planning to refer them here, but I cannot recommend a company that fails to honor its own written agreements and ducks communication. When we initially met with Joy she represented that they have experience designing solar for steep roofs and she showed up examples of prior work. During the design, contracting, and installation phases, the company was responsive and easy to work with. However, one year later it became clear that the design was not sufficient to meet our solar needs as Joy and Han represented; not even close, and we are still paying a large electricity bill each month. As such, the economic analysis offered by the company to entice us to move forward with them doesn't pencil out and we might never recover our investment costs. If they had provided the actual solar production, we would not have moved forward with the project. When we contacted the company about this issue in summer 2024, they were very slow to respond and even though they offered to redesign the system, they delayed and delayed and often we had to contact them multiple times before we received a response. Further, they tried to shift some blame to the "trees and unexpected weather conditions." The trees being referenced were there at the time of their bid and appeared in their modeling. The trees are trimmed regularly. The weather has not had any significant deviations. More than a year after we contacted them, they have not yet redesigned the system, nor can they guarantee that the new redesign will cover our solar needs. It is very disappointing that they have not made this right. Hopefully, we can still resolve this issue, but I felt compelled to write this review so others are aware that the anticipated solar production and the economic analysis to convince you to sign may be grossly misleading.

Project manager assured me, verbally, that the corrections would not take more than a week or so. That was five weeks ago. We are nine months into this project with no end in sight!!!
