apple spice donut
Caitlin T.

When I walked into Hillcrest Bakery, I was overwhelmed in a very good way! They offer a huge variety of items: breads, cakes, pies, cookies, donuts... and everything looks so tasty. I think I hovered around the cases for 5 minutes haha. I really appreciated the employees for checking if I had any questions as some things weren't labeled. The girls are absolutely so sweet and thoughtful, and I never felt pressured or embarrassed while browsing. It's a cute little shop with a lot of family history on their walls, and you can clearly see their commitment to their baking traditions hasn't wavered throughout the generations. There's a small parking lot which is super convenient since street parking can be filled up easily on the weekends! Also, their prices are so fair and reasonable considering they bake everything from scratch. My consistent pick up is the frosted apple spice donut (they're also offered glazed). The spices in the cake donut are warm and aromatic, and the frosting is fluffy. I can't wait to come back

Hillcrest Bakery is an institution in Bothell. They have a great selection of pastries, cakes, and donuts. We stopped by to grab a couple of regular-sized cinnamon rolls and they were delicious. The rolls had a donut-like dough, and so they were light and fluffy. We liked them a lot! We need to visit more often to try more of their products.

I have been back a few times now, and enjoyed the various things I have tried. I usually get the pork rolls, and some cookies. My last trip I got Chocolate cake, and Buttersprintz cookies along with pork rolls. I loved the chocolate cake and the Buttersprintz cookies. I also like their Raspberry Delight cookies.

Very nice selection of great pastries in this cute little bakery in dt Bothell. Unfortunately I am not sure what kind of pastry I got, since they did not properly label the names on all of them. The young buck that served me was new. I noticed this when I asked about the other pastries and his knowledge on them was limited. None the less, he was very polite and quick in severing me. I would be happy to return here again soon and try many others that stand out.

Carrot cake

Wonderful pastries and lovely customer service. The lemon bars and carrot cake are my all time favorite. The carrot cake has coconut on the edge and makes the slice that much more amazing! The sticky bun is pretty good too. Such a large variety of pastries and delicious goodness all in one place.

Took a quick trip from work in Woodinville, I had planned to visit a newish bakeshop in Bothell. However, saw yet another annoying long line. So made a split second detour to Hillcrest Bakery instead, thankfully a much shorter line. Plus they have been in business since 1934, got to be doing something right as a local OG indie! There's ample parking, also both indoor and outdoor seating, variety of baked goods, but kind of dour, stoic counter staff. I had limited time, no time to dawdle. I purchased a chocolate ring, a bacon maple bar, and a pair of beef sausage rolls. Later at home, the doughnuts were deemed tasty. The sausage rolls held up overnight in the fridge. It would be great to see how they compare to ones from sites in Redmond and Seattle. Nice to see a classic, old school bakeshop in downtown Bothell going strong!

This bakery is one to beat. Went in on a Saturday morning and they had a full case of treats. All of their donuts are light and fluffy. Best donuts north of Seattle!

You will not find any better donuts anywhere on the planet... and in particular, the chocolate Bismark!

The best way to describe the bakery is comfort food. Everything in the store is priced to fly off the shelves.

If you like donuts, this is the place for you. Quick in and out, decent prices, and fine donuts. What more could you ask for?

Before the closed down, I paid for two Korean dogs and after paying, their machine broke, so the employees then wrote me a "gift card" for me to bring back and get my two Korean dogs at a later day when they fixed it - all of us thinking it would be just a few days. They ended up closing for "maintenance" and then stayed closed for a couple of months - when I suppose this is the time it changed hands. I went in today with my "gift card" and ordered the two Korean dogs (which I had already paid for with the old owners) and ordered some other items as well. The employee took it to her manager. The manager then took it to the new owner, who was literally sitting 5 feet away from me. She said NO! Then after I explained the situation again, she said that she give me one. Not the two on the card. I totally get it. I could have been absolutely a liar and taking advantage. BUT I am not and was not. So, yes, it would have been nice for her to honor the words and obligations of the previous owners (she didn't keep any of the old staff either which made me sad because they were incredible staff and known for their great customer service), but she chose not to. Then the electronic menus were not working so the staff member had to read to me about a few things. Then I paid cash and they didn't even have coins to give me correct change. Looks like it's a rough start to what used to be a great mochinut store to go to. And she would have had made a long time customer had she trusted me, the card I brought in, and honored it. Today, I'm leaving with kind of a bad taste in my mouth and I haven't even taken a bite of anything yet. Hopefully the food tastes better than the service.
