Came across the bakery while doom scrolling on Instagram and couldn't help but laugh at his kids calling him "poopy pants"! One day I was seriously craving naan and croissants so I sent my husband over EARLY with a list. I will say I am sad there is a limit on croissants when you go in BUT I completely understand why! These topped my expectations and we will be back! The manakish (za'atar, cheese, and muhammara) was also absolutely delicious as was the naan. If they delivered, I would be ordering almsot daily! 11:30 am on Saturday and we were 10 people deep in queue with a lot more waiting for their orders. Lots of empty trays, a few containers of yogurt and kunafa, but a supply of samoon and pita breads. Staff were very busy making breads and manakish ( pizza type). Lucked out on the last available filled croissant and some baklava that were nicely packaged in a box. Glad they didn't just put them in a paper bag like some places in Seattle. Would have loved to have added more to the empty spaces. Got a bag of samoon bread too. The croissant's exterior was flaky and light with good aroma of butter, but not greasy to touch. The coconut pastry cream was well balanced, not too sweet, with distinctive coconut flavor providing a delicious and satisfying bite. Its only flaw was the runny consistency. This was a well made croissant with a slight tang to the pastry dough. ($8) 4.5/5 Baklava with pistachio ($2.50) was buttery, flaky, not too sweet, but needed more filling and moisture. It was kinda dry. 3.5/5 Samoon bread ($4) came 4 large sized pitas . 1 pita cut in half, easily made 2 stuffed sandwiches. This type of bread had neutral flavor with slight chewiness. It did not dry out even after 2 days at room temperature. It's great with dips, eaten with stews, or toasted and buttered. 4/5 If you enjoy exotic breads, desserts, and pastries, pick something up here before going to any of the international eateries in the plaza. I grew up going to the businesses in this plaza so the addition of Alida's Bakery has been on my mind for quite awhile. I'm a bit upset that it took me this long to finally bite the bullet! Given that it was around noon, I already knew the croissants were going to be sold out. To my surprise, they still had baklava so we walked out with three. This was also my first time ever having baklava! Needless to say, I'm obsessed. I already love pistachio so there really wasn't anything to go wrong with. In short It's a quiet little hole in the wall. Okay, right? It's also an influencer-driven phenomenon like Everett sees only rarely, if ever. Incredible lineup of breads and pastries in the Kurdish tradition. In long I must've driven by this place 50 times at the very least over the last few years. I never had the slightest idea what was happening back here. Cookies, Mexican, Central American, Filipino, taking my lovely bride to get her nails done, I've been in this parking lot at least monthly since they opened. It took influencer reels to finally get me in. Yeah, I'm dumb. It's the farthest-back corner in a sprawling strip mall, mixed in with at least a dozen other sprawling strip malls on a 6-lane road by the big mall. Lots of chain businesses. You can't assume that every place through here oozes character, but this one does. Inside, it's a couple chairs, a couple pastry cases, a little shelving, and hundreds of square feet of kitchen behind that. Multiple big ovens. Maybe half a dozen folks working away. Super friendly happy vibe, though I personally don't speak the language. Saturday afternoon I came in after a reel blew up online. Turns out they had a line out the door earlier that day. Gorgeous sunny weekend, everybody with free time came in. There were like 6 cookies left. In the whole place. Bakers were doing nothing but cleaning by that point. After I saw the video of dozens of people in line (on their Insta), I scrolled down a bit and saw that dude's baking videos with his kid get up to and beyond a million likes. For a little bakery. In Everett WA. Forgive me for not knowing this was even possible. Anyway, those cookies. Brownie cookies with a dollop of cream frosting in the middle. So damn good. A little crisp outside, soft and chewy inside. This isn't even something they list on their website and it's one of the better cookies I've had. Evidently they just throw it in the case as a special when the spirit moves 'em. This morning I thought I solved the puzzle. Went in right after they opened. On a school day. Nope. They had pita, croissants, and 3 pieces of baklava. I got some of each, including all the baklava. Expecting it all to rock at least as hard as those cookies. I had my eye on 3 or 4 other things from their website, but dude said they got crushed on a MONDAY MORNING and sold out of a bunch of stuff. Okay. Challenge accepted. Although the pita and breads are hand made and are sold fresh (which I love), I happened to really love the croissant the most. Particularly the pistachio cream. It tasted like they used European butter, because it had a slightly fermented tang which I have only had in French bakeries in Seattle and I absolutely love. One of my new favorite bakeries!! They've blow up on social media recently so they sell out pretty quickly, especially on the weekends. They open at 10am and can sell out of croissants in a few hours, even quicker if there's a special flavor! Everything tastes so fresh, and their croissants are to die for. Eat them ASAP, they're best fresh! I love their biscoff, pistachio, and recently they had an animal circus cookie flavor that was to die for. I always get a bag of their samoon pita (diamond pita) and a baklava too. Their manakish are like personal sized pizzas, get their pepperoni and add jalapeño! You really can't go wrong here though. This place is an Everett GEM. All the pastries are incredibly delish, you can taste the high quality ingredients and passion the owner puts into his products. One of my favorite things from here is the pistachio cream they make from scratch for everything, it's to die for. I've had it in a croissant and in their Dubai chocolate bark which is also amazing. It's not too sweet, but the right amount! The fresher baked pita here is also amazing, we love to eat it with fresh Italian sausage or with hummus. Their za'tar bread is also great! I was about to give up on finding good baklava until I tried this place. I've had baklava in Greece (from a famous bakery in Santorini), and Alidia actually beats it. This is hands down the best baklava I've ever had -- I'm addicted. The phyllo layers are perfectly crispy, lightly sweetened with honey, and beautifully fragrant with spices, with very generous pistachio filling. The Dubai chocolate is also amazing -- packed with pistachios and made with high-quality dark chocolate. I've been waiting to come here for months ever since I watched Nech's video pop up on my newsfeed! I got in line a couple minutes before they opened and the pita was warm when I bought it! I didn't get a chance to meet Nech because he was busy, but I noticed he was very kind to the first customer in line before he returned to the back. The other guys who were working in the front were very nice and excited when I told them how far I had to come to try this bakery. 10/10 pistachio croissants, baklava and Knafa! Go early though because the baklava is sold out if you don't get there in time. Knafa is baked fresh after you place an order. They also have Dubai chocolate that they make in house-- it's mid, a little kinda lacking in the kataifi filling. I've made it at home before and prefer a thicker bar with less chocolate and the pistachio cream and kataifi texture being the "main event". Overall, good place to try yummy baked goods! This place is so good. I have been following them on Instagram for years and just tried it. I wish I had tried them earlier. They have the best croissants I've ever had! We tried the strawberry and biscoff ones. They are amazing. The biscoff one is really good with coffee. I can't wait to try more. It all looked really good. There is a little table inside and a bench you can sit on. I wouldn't plan to eat in though since there really isn't much seating available. It's also pretty small inside, so we left after we got our food. The person that helped us was friendly. We ordered and got our food pretty quickly. They went through the line fast. The parking lot on a Sunday afternoon was very busy. When we got there, there was only 1 parking spot open. We will probably not come back on a weekend, but try a weekday instead. read more

Having moved to Seattle recently from near the center of Arab America in Dearborn, Michigan, I was certainly not expecting to find a Kurdish bakery nearby. I decided to drop by, hoping to find some Iraqi-style khubz and samoon, which were the flatbreads I ate most in Michigan. I found that Alida's does bake samoon, but not khubz. Instead, they have a wide variety of other flatbreads, including pita, something that looks similar to sangak, Persian pebble bread, and naan, along with other baked treats. Unfortunately, all of the bread is packaged in plastic bags, with the heat causing condensation inside. I wish it were more like a traditional bakery where the bread is continuously pumped out and placed directly onto tables for the customers to choose from, but beggars can't be choosers. Large Naan ($4.50 for 4) - Thinner, slightly sweet with a good chew. Taste is nice, maybe a bit undeveloped and floury but nice. For some reason they dock the naan to prevent it from rising. (4/5) Samoon, White ($4 for 4) - Thick, pillowy with a very nicely developed chew, very bouncy. The pocket is well developed and easily separates out (I've had plenty of samoon in the past where I actually had to use a knife to widen the pocket). Very, very solid samoon. This place can compete against all of the Chaldean bakeries in Sterling Heights, MI and the Iraqi bakeries in Dearborn. (5/5) They also have knafeh, cooked to order, baklava, yogurt, gaymar, etc. Lots of stuff for me to try the next time I go! It's a bit of a trek for me to get up to Alida's Bakery, but I'm just happy there's somewhere around to get some high quality Middle-Eastern bread. I've been wanting to go support this bakery for awhile now. I follow them on social media and love their content. The owner works his butt off trying new flavor combinations and perfecting his craft. How can you not support that? They are located in a busy little shopping center. When we got there in the early afternoon there were only a few parking spots open. The shop had people eating in, waiting to order and a busy kitchen. We were greeted warmly and they were patient with our ordering. It's a very basic looking shop but the treats are the stars. We tried the Nutella, pistachio, chocolate cream and plain croissants. I also grabbed some fresh pita and some honey baklava. So far, we've tried the pistachio and chocolate cream and YUM!! Flakey and perfectly flavored! They were perfect paired with coffee. I will definitely be back to try more flavors of croissants and pick up some other breads to try. Delicious! Service was quick. We were in the area and wanted something sweet. We typed in bakeries Everett Mall Way into a Google search and this was the first thing that popped up. Of course I clicked on the website and checked the Yelp reviews. The croissants and baklava were highly appealing and the reviews were positive. The restaurant we had lunch at just so happened to be in the same parking lot as Alida's so we walked over after lunch. We arrived after noon and a lot of the pastries were gone but they still had some goodies left. I already knew I wanted Baklava so I got a container that included a cashew and pistachio kind. I couldn't wait to eat it, so as soon as I got outside I opened it up. Oh wow, it was phenomenal. I was full from lunch, had I not been, I would have purchased more. I came across this bakery on Instagram, while I was looking for some good baklava. I have been watching their videos and wanted to try their croissants as well. This is more of a "come in, order, take out" type bakery, rather than a "sit down" type restaurant. The service was efficient and helpful. I have very little experience with middle Eastern cuisines, so I tried the meat manakish called Lahamacun. It was a flatbread with ground beef, tomatoes (chopped or cooked) with spices. It was ground or cooked so fine that it was like a flavorful meat pesto. It took a few minutes to prepare and I read a magazine about Kurdistan while I waited. The manakish came folded into quarters in a box to go. Delicious. The flavor profile was new to me, but really tasty. The spices were not the kind that burn with heat. I inhaled the manakish. I intended to share some with my husband. I did not. I regret nothing. Frankly, the food was divine. I sampled the chocolate croissant and it is easily the best chocolate croissant that I've had. It is a lighter filling than some of the heavier dark chocolate French pastries. Also, I learned more about Kurdistan and Iraq reading in the few minutes that I waited than in all of my years. If you have time to swing by Trader Joe's at the Everett Mall, this place is a block or two west on the opposite side of the street. It is tucked in a corner of a strip mall. Amazing place! I've been there 2 times now. There croissants are to die for! The workers are so sweet. It's such an amazing spot to try. The 2nd time I went they didn't have any croissants :( BUT! The owner of the store saw that we were sad there were no croissants so he gave us a free baklava (not sure how to spell it!) if your looking to go there head over within the first couple hours of opening.
