I have been wanting to buy some fruit-shaped mousse cakes ever since they've been blowing up on social media. There aren't many shops that sell these so I was excited to learn about Ladun. I arrived on a Tuesday afternoon around 2:30pm to the strip mall with dedicated parking and was happy to see that their case was fully stocked with gorgeous fruit-shaped mousse cakes of ALL TYPES. The ladies working there were friendly and helpful. I was concerned about how well the cakes would hold up on my 30 minutes drive home, but they assured me that it will last even an hour. So, obviously, I decided to purchase a bunch. I took their advice to choose the fruits that I typically like. The ones I tried so far were all lovely tasting. The chocolate shell was thin, but enough to hold it's structure on its own. As you bite into it, there is a satisfying snap of of the shell leading into the luxurious chocolate mousse and subsequent fruity center. The flavors were fresh, creamy, and very natural! Each "fruit" had a similar format: chocolate shell, mousse lightly flavored with the fruit, and a more concentrated fruity center. This is for the mousse lovers. If you are expecting cake and more texture, it would be better to get a different dessert. At $7-$14 per "fruit", they are quite pricey, however, the quality is there. The mousse was very stabilized and did survive the car ride home. Making these desserts require time and temperature sensitive processes and you can see that some of them have been airbrushed to add a touch of realism. I understand that these pastries take time and skill to create, and visually they are absolutely beautiful. However, appearance is where it ended for us. Out of the 5 treats we purchased, we only truly enjoyed one. Considering the high price point, the flavor and overall experience did not justify the cost. In my opinion, they are significantly overpriced for what you get, and the taste does not match the heavy advertising or social media hype. The cheesecake did not resemble any traditional cheesecake I've ever had and I'm someone who loves cheesecake. The layered chocolate cake was overwhelmingly sweet to the point that we couldn't finish it. The mango dessert was mostly mousse with very little actual flavor. The raspberry pastry had a thick gelatinous outer layer that completely threw off the texture. The only standout was the coffee mousse the flavor and texture were balanced and enjoyable. If you're considering trying this place just because the treats look pretty or because it's heavily promoted, I would strongly suggest reconsidering. In our experience, the quality and taste simply did not live up to the presentation or the price. We would not return. read more

Ok so it's like a sweet flavored mousse with a thin layer of hard chocolate on the outside. There's a jelly center with a tiny cookie or something. My partner was not a fan of the texture. Personally for one to be $10-$12 I don't think it's worth it and I wouldn't get them again. I think they are cool looking and so they are getting popular on social media. I would pay maybe $3-4 for the novelty of them. All the deserts are very small servings for the price. Now my sister loves these so I got her a box of 6 different ones so we could try a variety and we all shared them. Go big or go home I guess. The banana and peanut were our favorites. I think those flavors made the most sense. The pear tasted like banana pudding to me. Surprisingly the lemon was our least favorite which lemon flavored things are almost always a win for me so i was disappointed. The strawberry was ok. The cherry is meh in that the cherr flavor is not very strong. The service was fine. The inside is small but clean and cute and there are a few tables to sit at. Update. They seem to have refined their processes a bit, and those shelled fruit mousses are even better. They also introduced some new flavors. A beautiful little spot in Everett with plenty of parking on the way to Everett mall. The strip mall area it's in isn't super fancy but the sign on the establishment stands out. Inside it is bright, it's decorated and it has a kids corner. There are places to sit which is nice. They have a large selection of mousse cakes, two Russian cakes, some cheesecakes, cookies and a few more classic American cakes. Everything is plated beautifully, packaged beautifully, and tastes amazing. The service is average. And it a cafe / bakery so you go up to the counter and order, so it's not a service type of place. This is more of a 4.5 star for me. This place have been on go to places after seeing their pretty fruit desserts. They have a parking lot so parking isn't an issue. They are still in soft opening phase right now. It wasn't too busy but there was definitely a good amount of people who came after us. The person taking our order was really nice and suggested a few things for us. It was a very aesthetic place where you can sit and relax or work. Food: Peanut and passion fruit dessert: these were soooo good. I love that the flavor was really on point and the shape was very cute. It was a little pricey though but I don't think it's that bad. Macaron: delicious, love the flavor Honey cake: not the typical honey cake I'm used to but still pretty good. The flavor was good but I was missing the crunch. Mousse cheesecake: I love the inside, the exterior gelatinous shell was a little unexpected and not what I'm used to. The flavor was good though. Taste of the items was almost a five. The filling could be more fruit center less mousse. Crunch of the shell was excellent. It's a mousse world! Never had such delicious mousse desserts. These are delicate fruit shaped mousse desserts with a thin chocolate layer and a soft mousse with delicious fruits. Mango Mousse has a delicious mango pieces, the coconut one has a sweet coconut flavor with mango pieces. The pineapple one had sweet pineapple flavor and pieces. Lastly the macrons are amazing, probably the best in the world with flavor and softness. Had the chocolate one and strawberry milkshake and it was out of this world! I had similar ones at a different bakery but these guys have the best in terms of flavor, natural taste and they do charge for it. Each dessert was easily min of $12 but worth it! I've gone here another half a dozen times as a reward after a hard work week. I really feel they upgraded their ingredients from 4 months ago! Each flavor is so much more pronounced and the filling is much more! My absolute favorites are the pear, mango and (the new) pistachio! Wow! Came in for my birthday, I have been seeing this place on social media and I was excited to see it in the city i grew up in for 25 years. When I walked in the staff greeted me really politely and let me know they where there to answer any questions I had. The place was really clean and I felt like I could sit down and eat without feeling some kind of way. Seating was super minimal. There was a family at the time that was sitting down to enjoy their desserts and no where else to sit. I had the mango and the peach mousse. Both very delicious and not too sweet. I really enjoyed them. The attention to detail for each fruit was amazing, you get what you pay for the both flavor and detail. I understand why the pricing is pretty high. I also had the honey cake. I would be coming back in for the honey cake for sure. Overall i gave this place a 4 out of 5 due to the seating (still soft opening) and price even though I mentioned the attention to detail and flavor. We tried 3 desserts. Latte: 3.5/5, the biscuit is what made it good. If the biscuit inside was bigger, I'd give this one 4.5/5 Raspberry: 2/5, the jam inside was nice but there was barely any, so most of it was just mush. Too much mostly bland cream. Chocolate honey cake: 3/5, it was the frosting on top that I didn't like. The rest of the cake had pretty good flavor but the super fake sugary frosting on top kinda killed it. Price: insane. Ranging from 7-12$, it was just wildly priced for what you get. And you're expected to tip on top of that... Now, I will say these delicious treats are expensive but you pay what you get for. We got a big box of these fruit desserts, just so we could experience the hype. After spending over $200 dollars I will say I have found my favorites. The chocolate honey cake was seriously delicious and from the fruits, I would say the raspberry, strawberry, banana, tangerine and pear along with the latte! If I lived close I would be visiting this cute little cafe a couple times a week but I don't so sadly for me visits will be far and in between. Trying the viral French pastry that looks like realistic fruit!! Absolutely delicious, with a white chocolate tasting coating, mousse of the fruit inside, with fruit preserves. Also, we got the cheesecake gelatin pastry, that tasted delicious as well. The service was quick, despite having a growing line (I went as soon as they opened), they showed professional customer service, greeted us with smiles, and were pleasant. The banana flavor was perfect. A lot of banana treats get overpowered by the other ingredients, but this one was incredibly well-balanced. They added a light Biscoff-style cookie inside, which gives it a slight crunch...and honestly, it works so well. Banana by itself can be overwhelming, but that little bit of cookie evens everything out and brings a sweet, lightly savory contrast that grabs your attention in the best way. The texture is super creamy, too. If you're lactose intolerant, definitely take a pill beforehand, but aside from that, it's spot on. Overall, I'd give it a 10/10 for banana flavor. Banana is hard to get right and not a common standalone flavor, but they absolutely nailed it. This is just my personal opinion, of course...but I think it's fantastic. The peach flavor was absolutely incredible. The peach itself was bright, sweet, and tasted like real fruit...not that artificial flavor you sometimes get. What made it even better was the peach filling inside. It added an extra boost of juicy flavor that complemented the outer layer perfectly. The texture was smooth and creamy, and the filling gave it that little surprise burst that kept every bite interesting. It's refreshing, light, and super satisfying without being overly sweet. If you're sensitive to dairy, you might want to take a lactose pill beforehand, but aside from that, it's flawless. I'd easily give this a 9/10...it's the perfect flavor for spring or summer. Peach can be tricky to get right, but they really nailed the balance. I would've loved just a bit more peach filling (especially the chunks), because that extra pop would've taken it to the next level! Raspberry Flavor: 7/10 It was good, but it felt like it was missing something. There's a lot of cream with raspberry filling...which is great...but the filling could've been more evenly distributed. Maybe adding a bit of cake layered with the filling and cream would balance it out. Overall, it wasn't my favorite flavor. Tangerine (Orange): 5/10 I had really high hopes for this one, but unfortunately the flavor just didn't come through. When you take a bite, there's barely any tangerine/orange taste in the cream or mousse. I would've loved a much stronger orange flavor throughout. The filling did have orange chunks, but that's where almost all of the tangerine flavor was concentrated. Coffee: 6/10 There was a cookie/Biscoff layer in the middle, which was a really nice touch and helped balance the coffee flavor. If you're a coffee drinker, you'd probably enjoy this one....my fiancé, who loves coffee, thought it had a great flavor they gave it 6/10. But for someone like me who doesn't drink coffee, even one bite was very strong. It tasted like sipping a black coffee with just a little cream...definitely more coffee-forward. read more

Service is great! The main event in this bakery is the fruit mousse cakes. I ordered one of all of the fruit mousse cakes. Top three: cafe which is coffee bean, raspberry and banana. They have other flavors which go from mango, pear, passion fruit, peanut, strawberry, blueberry and orange. The tart ones have most flavor range. Nothing is rated below a 9 out of 10. More have exceeded 10 rather than disappoint. Looks of the mousse cakes are gorgeous which are 100 out of 10. For what you are getting the price is 10 out of 10. Depending on the fruit you order it ranges between $7-$11 dollars. If your lactose intolerant beware bc mousse is very creamy. I also ordered two macaroons: raspberry and dubi chocolate, both good and great price point less than 8$ each. Once again mousse has dairy so beware if intolerant. Lastly the mousse bento cake for 35$. It's a great cake for celebrations for kids or couples. Not large enough for more than about 3 people. It's a mousse cake so once again dairy. Got 2 cake pops for kiddos and gone in three bites, about $2-$3 dollars. Got an iced Americano and coffee was good but not worth an hour trip. However the heart straw made me smile. Flew from Colorado and drove 3 hours in total round trip to get these fruit cakes and I would do it all over again every time. Worth an experience. All together the price all in was 324$. YALL!!! This place is an absolute DREAM. I'm from Virginia, and we have a spot back home that's kind of similar to this--but honestly, it does NOT even come close to comparing. From the moment you walk in, the vibe is immaculate. Lana & Sofia are truly AMAZING--the sweetest girls ever and so incredibly welcoming. They make you feel comfortable right away, give you your space, and never make you feel overwhelmed, which I really appreciated. Everything about the experience felt effortless and relaxing and the pastries were AMAZING!!!! I cannot recommend the raspberry one enough! I cannot say enough good things about this place.
