The blackberry lemon flavor I chose was good, however the cake was really dry and crumbly. I am so incredibly glad that I found this bakery to make our wedding cake! We tried at least seven other bakeries and just kept being let down over and over by the samples. We were looking for an excellent carrot cake, but couldn't find what we wanted. I decide to try one more place before giving up on cake and google led me to this place. The samples we tried were SO DELICIOUS. We were both completely blown away by all of the flavors we tried - we ended up picking two flavors that weren't even carrot cake (which was delicious) because they were so good and unique. We got one tier of Almond Latte and one of Brown Butter Toffee. Johanna was so easy to book with and the cake they made was exactly what I had pictured. At pick up she let me know they accidentally made it slightly smaller than ordered so they had made us cupcakes to make up for those serving and gave a partial refund. The cake was delicious. I have not stopped thinking of it ever since. I look forward to the next time I have an excuse to order from them! I HIGHLY recommend them for your wedding cake/dessert needs. I am not a cake or sweets person however I typically buy a lot of cakes throughout the year because our family has lots of birthdays. Since I'm not a cake person, looks is more Important to me than taste. But the cakewalk shop exceeded my expectations in both taste and look. Johanna the owner was very pleasant to work with and made some Amazing recommendations with some of the ideas I gave her. At the end of the day she made my vision come true for my daughters first birthday and my dad's 87th birthday cake. Never before have we finished any cake at our party, but for the first time we ate both cakes during the party and everyone loved it. For the 87th birthday cake we got salted caramel and my favorite was the 2 tiered strawberry champagne cake that was made with real strawberries! I also love the buttercream frosting that was not too sweet. Johanna was very responsive and helpful in answering all of our questions, and was flexible in letting us pick the cake up before the shop even opened on Saturday morning. I can't thank Johanna and Tamara enough for crafting up the perfect wedding cake for our wedding day. Not only do I think that their cake is the best around, but I was looking for some specific flavors and they ended up creating a new cake recipe for us. I was looking for a cake that wasn't too sweet, so they created a sour cream pound cake with white chocolate filling and summer berries inside. I can't even tell you how delicious it was. For our second flavor, we chose from their menu and ended up with chocolate with salted caramel frosting and brittle inside. We did a fresh berry sauce for guests to pour over the cake. Guests are still raving about how delicious our cake was. As for our design, by the time we went in for our cake tasting I was "decisioned-out." I had some photos of things that i liked, but couldn't choose just one to save my life and honestly didn't care. I just wanted it to look pretty. In the end, I told them to just have fun and create something they thought was beautiful. I walked into our reception and was BLOWN AWAY by our cake. It was so perfect and gorgeous. There are so many pretty cakes, but it was fun to see what they envisioned along with the rest of the design for the wedding I had shown them. My husband and I lucked out when we stumbled onto this little mother daughter duo bakery in Everett for our June 2022 wedding. Everything from the tasting, to the design process, to delivery was amazing and everything we could have hoped for. We ended up going with a 2 tier cookies and cream cake and 3 dozen cupcakes of varying flavors. I had mentioned while I was beyond happy with the choices, I was slightly bummed they weren't offering a carrot cake at the time and they agreed to make one of the cupcake flavors carrot cake and while I never got to taste it, I was told they were amazing. We thought we ordered on the high side for desserts, but apparently, they were so amazing everything was gone... we didn't even get a slice of cake for our 1-year anniversary. That should tell you everything you need to know about this bakery. Their delivery and presentation were on time and on point and they even incorporated bits of the floral design into the cake before they left.
