We came to the bar for a couple of drinks for the first time after it changed from Sidebar to Highball. We were very impressed with the changes to the interior and the hospitality. The atmosphere is very cozy, stylish and intimate. Our mixologist was cool and made really well-balanced strong drinks. We ordered TTP, Only Fans, Among the Trees, and Gem Store. This is by far the best bar in PHX, maybe even in AZ. My boyfriend and I come here whenever we can and tonight I brought my pals for a girls night and it was amazing as always! I love showing people this place, always such a great vibe inside and the drinks never disappoint of course. The owners know what they're doing and the service is always spectacular. I could go on forever about how awesome this place is but if you've been here you already know! if you come on the weekend you'll want to make a reservation because they get pretty busy but they are good about accommodating walk-ins as best they can. nonetheless its totally worth the visit every time and props to the people who make this place what it is! Just got back after a really bad experience. I sent back 3 really badly made drinks. Got charged for them!!! The place operates like a dive bar for prices they charge. The manager was probably not having a good day. Hope things got better for her than it did for us. I was trying to make it a nice holiday for my cousin who was visiting. Not exactly the wrap up for the evening we had planned. She threatened to call the cops on us!!!! Ugh. Watch out for the claws if you dare to venture there. Lol. Yeah and they don't take honest feedback kindly. So... Drink up real quiet. Pay your bill and get out. Libby... You suck lemons. Try some sugar you might like it. Went back tonight with my boyfriend's cousin, excited for him to try the cocktails. My boyfriend's did not enjoy his drinks and sent them back. Our server did not tell us that we would be charged for these sent back drinks. The hostess/manager came to our table and told us that they're a small business and that she would call the cops if we did not pay our tab. Long story short, we paid and will not need going back! I attended their "Little Havana" nigh this past Monday. The drinks were good. The limited bean dip was okay. I was a little put off with the add of corn nuts. I ordered their shrimp salad also off of their limited menu. When I received stocks of lettuce I was put back. I simply just ate everything else. This is the perfect spot for any occasion. The setting is warm and inviting and the staff - Libby and Mitch - couldn't have been nicer or more attentive. We had a small client event and The Highball had exactly the right atmosphere and vibe to both have a good time and network. Libby is the bartender but, she is also the one that helped me plan the event. She was friendly and attentive and very accommodating before I even met her but, when I did, she was all of that, and more. She obviously loves her job and it shows in everything she does. Mitch was a delight, as well. He helped me orchestrate the food and logistics and he couldn't have been nicer or more professional. I highly recommend The Highball to anyone and everyone. read more

Who follows the customers out to their car to harass them? She's lucky we didn't stoop to where she did considering she was drinking on the job! My group stopped in last night on a recommendation from our server at our dinner stop. We were talking about cool hang out spots in the valley and were mourning several spots that were gone due to COVID that had been our go-to joints. He suggested we try highball and told us it would be our new go-to after one visit. It was a little drive from where we were but TOTALLY worth it. This place has rock-solid feels! between the four in our party, we tried a total of 5 drinks off the cocktail menu. They were ALL awesome, and to be honest, that's tough to do! Seems like most places you go, most of the drinks are good but there's one or two that might not be as good. Not this time for us at Highball. The vibe gave you a speakeasy feel and it being upstairs was a cool touch. It's a place you wouldn't really know it was there unless you searched it out! The aesthetic inside was great and the staff was all great, from the greeting at the front to the wait staff and bartenders. The music was good but I felt it could have been a little louder just to create that solid feel, but overall no complaints! We went on a Sunday night and got right in, but I could see it being tougher to get into on a Friday or Saturday so get you that reservation and try it out! read more

We only had drinks, but everything was fantastic! I had their barrel pick of Kavalan, a Taiwanese whisky that they exclusively selected, and the Bamm Bamm's Cup. Both were delicious. I'm a big Mezcal fan, and Mezcal Naran, which is used in Bamm Bamm's Cup, is a family-run distillery with the US-based operations and importing right here in Phoenix. My wife had the Desert Hearts cocktail, which uses a base similar to a whiskey sour, but with added ingredients for a more complex, fruity whiskey cocktail. My friend had the Only Fans, which is a must-try if you're a gin fan. I finished with the Fortaleza Winter Blend, a nice, more premium tequila. Mitch recommend both the whisky and tequila--be sure to chat with him if you're interested in trying any of the premium spirits. He can help guide you through their offerings. We came here to celebrate my friend's birthday; she wanted somewhere nice with specialty cocktails where we could talk. I'd been to Highball once when it first opened so I suggested it. First, it looks really beautiful with the dark walls, exposed brick and chandeliers. We were greeted by the nicest lady at the front and seated us at the bar. Side note, all the women that worked there were lovely! My issue is with the male bartender (who I'm pretty sure is one of the co-creaters Mitch) and his attitude. Everything started great, he brought us a treat shot for her birthday, we ordered drinks, I had the Pink Your Poison and my friend had something with a leaf on the side of it but it was awful; she drank it anyway. Even though the bar wasn't busy, he didn't come back. Thirty minutes go by, then forty. Doesn't check on us. We finally order another drink, I asked for no mezcal in mine and he seems offended. I get my drink and it's TERRIBLE! I push it to the front to politely get another one but he completely ignores me! He's far too busy having a shot with his group of visiting friends at the end of the bar. Another thirty minutes goes by, I try to flag him down, he casts a side-eye at me then has the gal behind the bar help me. I stress that it's just not for me and it's too late to get another drink so we'd please like our tab. She was lovely btw and takes the drink off my ticket which is great counting I didn't drink it. What I don't get is his attitude, like he was personally offended then thought it'd be appropriate to treat customers like that. I'm sure there are perfectly lovely cocktails on the menu but at $17 a pop, when you're having two or three each, it's just not worth it to be ignored and treated poorly especially when celebrating someone's birthday. read more
