We loved that the rib meat practically fell off the bone when picking it up. The ribs were tender and had a great flavor, not too Smokey. I ordered it without the house dry "dust" and enjoyed them with tasting all three BBQ sauces that are conveniently left on the tables. The slaw was super fresh and not overpowered by a lot of creamy sauce, just enough for flavor. The baked beans had a great bbq pork flavor and were fresh and hot. We had a great server. She put the house rib dry "dust" on the side and suggested to sprinkle it on the french fries my husband substituted for the beans; great idea!! The atmosphere has a fun nostalgia flare to the Shack style construction. We will definitely return.

The barbecue nachos are flour, tortilla chips and not corn. They were over fried and the chunks of barbecue were too big to fit on the chip. This was some of the worst barbecue I've had in a long time and maybe ever. There was zero Char on the ribs. They tasted almost like they had been steamed or something. They were wet but not sauce, just with what seems like steam. The dry rub seasoning was basically just wet goo. Regardless, the fact that half of them were probably around 48° makes it impossible to enjoy them. I still don't understand how this is possible. The atmosphere is fine, though it's a tiny restaurant. The service is uneventful. There were only two tables, including ours that had customer at it. Our server was sitting in the corner with her boyfriend the whole time hanging out with him and she would just get up occasionally and check on us. She had no personality. There's a 0% chance I would ever give this restaurant another chance. Horrible. Absolutely horrible. It's completely obvious that there is zero supervision or management this restaurant.

A server came over after we sat down. She was kind and helpful, a home style cooking menu with a daily special white board. After giving the menu a read and the board a look-over I opted for the daily special. Chicken and rice, with sides of baked beans, potato salad and cornbread. It was okay, very basic. The baked beans tasted like out of a can. The cornbread was just okay. The chicken and rice was pretty bland, basic and lacked any real flavor depth. The potato salad was the best thing on my plate. The meal was pretty lackluster and basic, kind of a disappointment after seeing all the high marks on reviews. 3 Stars it served its purpose 01289

But, in contrast to his review, I think the beans are unique. Sure, they may be canned beans, but the hearty addition of pulled pork makes them pretty fine. The rib tips were almost overcooked, not as tender as I'm used to but still good. The fried tomatoes were fried perfectly and needed a touch of salt at the end. I would return and try the brisket on the next visit.

After a short wait to get inside to order (only 4 people will fit inside) we chose the pulled pork sandwich platter- comes with 2 sides, since slaw was in the sandwich I chose, baked beans and fries. My husband got the same with sides of slaw and beans. The man working was busy, but didn't rush us, was really pleasant and when my husband asked for sweet tea, he explained they didn't have it, but gave us lemonade ( pink lemonade that was really good) and took our phone number and we waited in the truck for our order- after 15 minutes or so they called. I went and got the order, and the fun began. The bun was jumbo and toasted, the pork was hot, pulled and perfectly portioned, had a great mix of "bark"in it, nice sauce and great crunchy slaw- the sauce and slaw complimented the meat, but did not overpower it, the smoky pork was the star of the show! The beans were hot and had hamburger meat and BBQ in them, the slaw had an apple taste which was very nice, rough chopped with great crunch! Fries were overdone, but I was there for the BBQ.
