My husband and I stopped by the quaint little place for a bite to eat and were amazed at the quality!!! I had a bit sandwich that was stacked with bacon thay was extra crispy, just the way I like it. My husband had the brisket and it melted in your mouth!! He said it was the best he had ever had. The bathrooms were super clean and the waitress was very friendly. Love this place! We've had two meals here and left fully satisfied. Try the OMG breakfast. Biscuits will melt in your mouth! For lunch, I tried the Jumbo BBQ sandwich. Whoa Nellie! This is the real deal southern Q! Pork was smoky and juicy topped with a tangy crispy slaw . The sauce was just right. Bun tastes housemade or perhaps they get them from a local bakery. Bun was hot off the grill. Can't say enough about how delicious it was. Our service here was superb on both trips. We did not experience the poor service that other reviews have reported, but they are pretty old, so give this place a try. I'm glad we did! read more

The absolute BEST service- everyone is so kind! I'm a local. It's always something with this place. They never stick to their hours and they quit taking to-go orders at random times. When they are serving, there is always some waitress-drama that gets aired out in front of the customers as if they are the audience of Jerry Springer who are required to participate. It gets awkward quick. The food - it's mediocre/bland when you can actually order and eat. The breakfast is decent/good compared to the rest of the menu. Redwood hut is just up 57 near PCA. The Outpost is across the dam, both of which are CONSISTENT regarding hours, atmosphere and decent food. read more

Well, I hate to write a bad review but.... Years back this place was just so so but I think something changed in the management and it really improved in both service and food quality. Well you know the saying, "the only thing permanent is change"? Well seems things have changed back. This is not based on just one visit but rather the last times we've been in. Food quality has dropped and it takes forever to get your food. This was the last breakfast I ordered....... took about 40 minutes to get and the place was not 1/2 full. Omelette was cold, pancakes were singed and my crispy taters were barely warm! Oh yea, had to ask for silverware last two times as well! Sadly, I would love to review the food.. but after one hour and 18 minutes waiting for our order My husband and I walked out.. The staff was clueless as to why we were leaving. I mean 2 omelets is not that hard of a task. And even if busy then just stop seating people til you get things under control.. Don't just sit them , take order then forget about them.. Also not once did we get offered a refill on our drinks during this whole time waiting for food. NOT WORTH TRYING A SECOND TIME.. my time and money will be wiser spent! read more

One of the few, if not the only, place to find breakfast after 11am in Counce. And what a breakfast it is! The bacon is salty and well-done, just like I like it. The Texas toast will fill you right up. The servers are sweet as can be and seem to know all their customers by name. They refill your juice and coffee without having to be asked and even asked if i wanted some to go. This is not fine dining. . . but this is goood food. read more

Like all restaurants owners are never around to make sure there business is taking care of. Stuff is always missing from your order, and especially the bbq is taken from refrigerator reheated never off the grill! You will only receive Luke warm. They are to busy having fun, playing on their phones and most importantly gotta get that smoke break. Hagy's catfish hotel and The fish hut are the two best places too eat. Would give zero stars if I could. Place is crappy. Tried to call to place a to go order for three biscuits. They said they weren't taking any more orders. I have my boyfriend drop me off there and try to get it there and take it in a to go box and they still told me they weren't taking any more orders. I said why they said it's a 45 min wait. And they've only had one cook until ten min ago. I understand that but I didn't mind waiting. I then walk outside and see two of their cooks sitting out on picnic tables smoking. Learn how to run a business please. Just close the doors if you're not gonna be able to serve food as a restaurant should. read more

I have been eating at this restaurant for 15 years, but lately I have found that it is making the fatal mistake I have seen many restaurants make. They have raised their prices, most have and that's not the point. They have also cut the portion sizes and lowered the quality. Very disappointed with this and will NOT return. Disappointing is about the best I can say. We weren't greeted when walking in. They were out of so much, my husband had to change his order 3 times and even after ordering still had to change his side. The 1 waitress couldn't seem to keep up. There was a foul mouth drunk sitting at the bar, who didn't seem to care about his volume or disgusting conversation choices (I don't care what you and the other guy did with a "lady" but I didn't need to hear about it over dinner). If you order the brisket be prepared, it was more like a boiled roast and was fatty. The salad bar was small and seemed to be missing several items but what was there was at least fresh. Went here for lunch and our group had hamburgers and pulled pork. Hamburgers were great thick and meaty. Pulled pork was ok. They only have one BBQ sauce. Quantity of food for the money was excellent. They are open for breakfast and I would go back to try that menu. Would also like to go back to try their ribs. Ribs are GREAT. They are worth five stars. Both wet and dry were very tender (but not fall-off-the-bone)and had very good flavor. The rest: meh. Definitely go for the ribs but lower expectations for other things on the menu. read more
