    Burnt grilled cheese
    Heidi R.

My company ordered lunch from here and we were very disappointed. The food was subpar at best. The cheesesteak was inedible! There was no cheese and the meat was burnt and bitter. The Chinese noodles are good but you get a micro portion. The grilled cheese was also very burnt and hard to eat. The sundowner looks great in pictures but it was packed full of wilted lettuce and had hardly no stuffing as they claimed. Most of the staff was disappointed for the price we paid. Just do you research and know what you are paying for or not paying for.

Try this place. Seriously. I love soup and sandwiches and feel like I eat enough of them that I am a reliable source for you to trust. This place is great. Friendly staff. Lots of choices. A bit pricey but you get a huge sandwich for your money.

    Veggie nooner, no avocado

First time here and the sandwiches were huge and delicious! The staff was also very friendly and outgoing. I would've given 5 stars if the pricing was just a tad lower, I understand that prices are going up everywhere but I paid over $30 for 2 full sandwiches and I half salami and cheese sandwich. I will return when I want to splurge on a good sandwich, i just can't afford to make this place a habit unfortunately lol!

My company ordered High Nooner for a work meeting. I got a club sandwich. When the sandwich arrived it was huge. Three layers of turkey, lettuce, tomatoes and bacon. Though it was substantial, I didn't care for the onions on it. They were very strong and over took the other flavors on the sandwich.

Unforgettable Nooner - subbed mustard & added onions - bread is delicious - I would like to see them add more turkey

I enjoyed my business luncheon with SquishyPeanut at this location. Nice, bright, well maintained restaurant. Service was great. Food was delicious. I definitely would come back when I'm out in the valley and needing a quick, but much higher than fast food quality meal for my lunch. Sandwich size was great. Lots of veggie options: tomatoes, sprouts, onions, lettuce, avocados, etc. that are not $$$ extras. I did wish I had a slice or more turkey to make it a bit more filling. The bread, however, was just addicting. Soft but not soggy from the tomatoes (means it is a well layered sandwich!) and still had a crust with presence - not crunchy, but it debuted well. I was tempted to have the cream cheese, but opted for the less calorie-laden mustard option and I give myself a pat on the back because it tasted just as good. (I'm sure many may argue me on this, but if you love mustard like I do then you'll agree it pairs well in this sandwich.) My favorite color is blue so I was in love with the sandwich wrapper. It's the little things in life. So, thumbs up. Points were lost, however, with the styrofoam cups. Please, oh please, reconsider replacing them with anything, but. Also, to save money don't be afraid to serve customers requesting water with a smaller cup option. That should be a great way to save a bit of money. I don't opt for soda and I've never dinged a restaurant for providing me with a smaller cup than those ordering a drink they paid for. I won't and didn't reduce the # of stars for styrofoam cups, but would really love to see this restaurant change them out for something much more environmentally friendly. 4 out of 5 stars because I'm still in search of that "oh wow, this sandwich place rules!" restaurant in town. Oh! Is it possible to trade the free cookie for a free pickle???

For an eight dollar sandwich I expected more. The bread was stale. Not impressed. Will not be a returning customer.

I ordered the Fig Sandwich and the Fancy Pants Sando because I could not decide between the two as they both sounded very unique in different ways. I called the place up and arranged to come pick the food up. The person on the phone was very thoughtful in keeping in mind at what time I would arrive so he could arrange for the sandwich to be toasted at the right time. I appreciate small details like that. When I arrived, I noticed there were several tables and a bar where you can essentially get brews and food. I noticed they had several beers on tap which I was very curious about, but unfortunately did not have time to sit down and eat at this establishment. The person at the bar was extremely friendly and made me feel very welcome. The two sandwiches came up to $40ish. I brought the sandwiches home and first tried a few bites of the Fancy Pants Sando. I will have to say it was the better of the two sandwiches. I appreciated the goat cheese in the sandwich and the mix of different ingredients, but it was not something I would consider to be a great sandwich, at least not for me. Others might find it pleasant, but I did not care for it much. The fig sandwich was the one I was more excited about and expected some sweetness to be cut down by the bacon. I don't think it was a perfect balance between the two, and I got a tad much of the overwhelming sweetness of the figs in this sandwich. Again, others might enjoy it, but I didn't care for it. I really wanted to give this place a great review, but unfortunately it did not meet my expectations. The beer looks fun though and might be a good reason to give this place a try, and you may enjoy their sandwiches and many people have. For me, that's a no-go.

The Grain Shed does a farm to table model and is a bakery and brewery. I got a snack here along with a beer and left quite satisfied. I got a Grilled Cheese Sandwich on some of their house made bread with some Cheddar, Swiss and Provolone cheese. The exact name for this sandwich is the Cheesy Toastie. And of course moving on to the beer... the primary motivator to come here. I got the Kölsch beer here called Field Trip. I do love a good Kölsch as they are nice, light bodied beers. And they are especially nice in the summertime. Flavor features in this beer is maltiness, breadiness, a bit of hoppiness and a dry finish. Another beer that Steve and I tried was the INWPA which was a Pale Ale. It was also a nice light bodied beer which again hit the spot despite it being a different drinking session. Flavor characteristics in this beer is citrus, a yeastiness, hoppiness and a biscuity trait. Good beers and sandwiches and we are aiming for a return whenever we are in Spokane again.

Every contact I've had with Grain Shed employees has been more than pleasant; they truly seem to enjoy working there, and take good care of their customers. I need to shout out to Toby and Audrey before I go on. They each provided 110% on customer service, being personable and making sure we left happy. On 2 separate trips to Spokane, I've visited the Grain Shed 3 and 4 times over the course of 3 days (yes, if you do the math, I went twice in 1 day, and the restaurant was NOT just around the corner!) Everything I've tried is delish, but in case you have to limit yourself, I highly recommend the OG, the beets and feta toast, the bread flight with sauces and cheese, the molasses ginger cookie, and maybe a chocolate croissant. I've heard their bread pudding and pumpkin pie (holiday special) are out of this world! I tried to get over to listen to their live music before leaving town, but still need to squeeze that into my schedule. Travelers: save space in your luggage for a loaf of bread. Sadly, no shipping at this time, but I'm waiting for it! This SoCal resident is officially The Grain Shed's #1 fan. I dare any of you to try to take away my title!

Hangry's is in my pasture--my neck of the woods--and because of that, I want it to win. When Hangry's first opened, I remember lifting my head from the grass and thinking, Now that's something different. A small, independent burger stop with real personality. Not a franchise. Not a copy-and-paste joint. Real food, real effort, real care. Burgers with heft. Flavors with backbone. Portions that didn't insult a full-grown cow like myself. There was pride in the grill and warmth behind the counter. You could feel it. That's why this is hard to chew on. The food is still good. Let me be clear--I'm not saying it's bad. But the spark has dulled. The uniqueness that once set Hangry's apart has lost some of its flavor. The service doesn't carry the same energy it once did. There's a tension in the air now, a kind of hangry mood that doesn't come from hunger, but from strain. It feels less like a place excited to serve, and more like a place trying to survive. And that worries me. Because I don't want Hangry's to become just another Zip's. Another forgettable stop where burgers are churned out without soul. This place was never meant to be that. It was meant to be a friendly, fun, neighborhood joint--high quality, generous portions, bold flavor, and people who cared deeply about what they put on the plate and how they handed it across the counter. I know running a business is hard. Even a cow understands that. Starting strong is one thing; staying sharp is another. Motivation fades. Criticism piles up. The grind wears you down. But the answer isn't to lower the bar--it's to return to the basics. To remember who you were when you started. To cook like you still have something to prove. To serve like every customer matters, because they do. Hangry's doesn't need to reinvent itself. It needs to refocus. Quality first. Pride back in the process. Fresh eyes on the food. Confidence instead of survival mode. If that happens, this place won't just hang on--it will thrive. This bull is rooting for you. You're in my pasture, and I want you here for a long time. Get back to your roots, sharpen your edge, and remind us why we noticed you in the first place. This cow is all in.
