I would give this place a 5 if they just stick to the micro brews. As someone coming from the Bourbon capital of the world, Kentucky, they really need to stop with their bourbon or let it age a lot longer because it is pretty bad. I tell my friends "if you see something you think you might like, you probably will". My wife and I have visited over 100 different breweries in Colorado, I know that's not as many as some people but, and have never visited one quite like High Hops. Every single beer she or I have had we have thoroughly enjoyed; seriously, not even a "kind of" we have loved every one. They just have a way of making every beer taste exactly like the description. Next time I'm trying the spirit flight from the distillery that is connected to the brewery. I will come back to this place even though it is a 105 minute drive from my house. DON'T BOTHER ... if you want to enjoy a beverage with good ol fido or with your kiddos and family. Colorado is awesome because we all love supporting small businesses, but don't bother with this place. First, their brewery and distillery are separated in different areas - there is no common area. Second, they only allow dogs in the patio on the brewery side. They don't serve food so dogs should be allowed inside and on the distillery side. They denied my dog, even though he is ESA and is very well mannered. Also along these lines, my dog wanted to lay in the shade so he did and wasn't more than 6-8 feet away when I got yelled at that I need to hold his lease at all times. Look, my dog is older and wasn't running around, barking, or being obnoxious. In fact, he was drawing a crowd because how awesome he was. Lastly, our kid was sitting at a high top with us behaving very well when he was told he had to sit back several feet from the table. What the heck? This place goes on and on about their policies, no wonder why the atmosphere was stuffy. This was my first and last experience here. There are other local breweries and distilleries that welcome pets, families, and kids ... and their workers are friendly and helpful. These places will earn my business instead. read more

My Hubbie and I love to go to High Hops on Friday's and/or Saturday nights. The beer is phenomenal and the entertainment is so fun! It's such a low key atmosphere and in the summer the outside area is great for anyone (all ages). This place is a must for the locals! read more

This WAS our favorite brewery.... until the outdoor space was open for the season. This is marked as "kid friendly".... well it's not. If your children are seen and not herd it is a fine establishment. But the minute your child is herd the waitstaff will absolutely let you know that your child is misbehaving. What makes me so sad about never returning... is the beer is great!! My children are not wild and crazy, but when outside... move and play. That's the fun of outdoor spaces. It's normally a win win. But not here. So sad. read more

Wow. After being very confused with the horrible set up, I was scolded in a very demeaning way in front of the entire bar, being called a "child" and accused of "climbing on things" after trying to simply get around to a table. After speaking to a different employee about my situation, this new employee became incredibly defensive, arguing for the company and fellow employee. Personally, after being in the service industry for 4 years, I can tell you right off the bat this was a horrible way of treating a costumer. I felt embarrassed, misunderstood, and downright mistreated. My friend and I even APOLOGIZED for anything we could have said wrong, and this employee continued to make excuses. He ripped my money out of my hand when I payed. I wish I could have taken back the tip he did not thank me for. We left shortly after that and will not be returning. Unique atmosphere and nice location, but that will be my last time there. Hopefully Windsor gets some breweries with better costumer service! read more

This is my favorite spot to head to relax in Windsor. However, their beer holds up to the best around the area, which is the best area in the country! The deck is the perfect place to be from spring to early winter. Kick back and enjoy the latest version of Dr. Pat's (IPA) or sip on one of those high octane beers that only come in goblets. I also love the Firken Wednesdays; that is the time to try the new flavors that the beermaster is currently playing around with. This is one of Northern Colorado's gems! Their beer is phenomenal, the service is great, and I can think of no other brewery that I'd feel comfortable at with friends or family. There's something there for everyone. I also heard that they were starting to distill their own spirits too....I can't wait! Absolutely horrifying experience. My 100% disabled combat vet husband, his service dog (purebred German Shepard) and I walked in to the front line where you order beer, then after you receive it typically go outside. We were 4th or 5th in line, and he was asked to take her outside. She was completely silent sitting next to him, not disruptive in any fashion. He complied without speaking. I was furious, and asked the employee why they don't allow service animals per state law. She replied stating our dog isn't wearing her vest. I stated Colorado laws in depth to her, while the owners were next to her. The owners had been drinking and were incredibly rude to us, saying my husband doesn't look disabled, and that their establishment is a private one in which they create their own rules. I would like to point out that we have visited high hops two times within 2 months, and each time multiple dogs and cats were inside of the building walking around. Instead of saying I'm sorry I didn't realize she is a service animal, or next time please have her wear a vest, the owners continues to question his disability and our dog.They never offered an apology, nor even a thank you for your service to my husband. We immediately left, with the owners chuckling to their friends who were at the table with them. I am appalled that fellow Americans are not more grateful to service members who have severe disabilities, and disgusted by the owners of this establishment and their words. read more

Never going back there again. Had a group of 12 people and was not comfortable with the table layout and asked employee if we could move the tables and she said yes, just don't slide them pick them up to move them. Ok fine, and yes all the tables had taped on them "please do not move tables" but we had permission to make it more workable for our large group. Then owner lady came up to our table and rudely says "can't you read" we explained we had permission and she continued being rude to all of us. Owners aren't you supposed to want customers to come back? Well you insulted a table of 12 people who won't be coming back, and they all have friends read more

This brewery is the closest to where we live and we frequently visit. But we don't just come back because of the convenience we come back because of the great beer. They always have some new release beer and have regular rotating seasonals, plus their regular line up. They also have their firkin on Wednesday's, which we never seem to make it their but I've heard great things from friends about them. The service is always great, they have live bands regularly that are all usually pretty good. The distillery is in the back and if you go with a group, they have certain areas where you can sit on either side of a table so you can enjoy your drink of choice. I Would love if they could figure out how they could allow the distillery and brewery could intermingle but I know they are working on that. Either way we love both the brewery and distillery. read more

This is a great place. They offer a wide selection of excellent beers, and their strawberry soda was a big hit with our kids. It's attached to a greenhouse that sells really interesting stuff, so it's fun to walk around looking at what they have. read more

Yes your beers were high in hops and as a hop head I thoroughly enjoyed all of your beers. Although they were not IPAs the hop aroma was very present. The unique thing about this brewery is that it's located on a farm that sold fresh hops when they are in season. Each customer for a few extra bucks could purchase their favorite brew in a French press with fresh hops of the season. We selected the honey ale brown that soaked for a few minutes in the galena hops. We were given the same beer to taste against. The beer tasted completely different. I love a Randall hop style beer and the French press is the comparable, it was a fresh welcoming experience. read more

Excellent beers, I was happily surprised to find this place adjoined to a garden shop! Only bummer was the last time I was there to pick up some brewing supplies, the tap room was full to capacity and I couldn't grab a quick pint. 5-Stars for the beer. 3-stars for seating. Their beers are constantly great. Unfortunately their seating is very limited in the summer UNLESS you don't mind being baked by the sun. In the winter they open the indoor green space. But when it's not open you're limited to a handful of seats by the bar or outdoor seating in blinding sun outside. We avoid hanging out their in the summer simply because of the lack of comfortable, shaded seating. read more

Awesome little place to go hang out, drink good beer and listen to live music. Very casual atmosphere with picnic tables and little kids running around. Some people bring their dogs (they keep them on leashes). There is a random food vendors / cart there on the weekends, but they get overwhelmed when the place gets busy. Also, the mosquitoes get bad after the sun goes down, so come prepared. I'd definitely give this place five stars if they'd invest in a kitchen, but maybe the food cart is the better way to go for the time being. read more

This used to be one of our favourite places to meet and take friends to, as we live right down the street. Unfortunately that is no longer the case. We have had enough issues pile up the last few visits we will not be returning. They have been incredibly rude to all of our children who are all middle school and older. I tried to give it another chance last night and the girl I met there was called a child in a very disrespectful way. (She is 23 years old) When she shared with me what happened to her in front of the servers he defended the actions of the employee and told us why we were wrong and that there are plenty of other places we can go. That goes against customer service 101. As someone has already stated "this place has changed" I guess when you experience the kind of success they have you don't have to worry so much about customer service. After reading several reviews here and on Google we are obviously not the only ones who have experienced this. read more

Found the place in a nursery after driving past into Windsor. Need a sign or post their address numbers big. Excellant IPA and will return. Lots of seating in the greenhouse and judging by the crowd its popular. My only complain and personal crusade is to get an honest pint of ale. At $4.50 a pint I should get 16 oz of ale and at about an inch down it is about 12 oz. read more

A bright new star in the FoCo craft brewing scene. Sampled all 8 beers on tap (great way to experience this brewery but have someone else drive). Every one was creative and well crafted with impressive depth and sometimes surprising flavors. When i do a horizontal tasting in even in my favorite breweries, there's almost always something that leaves me thinking, 'yeah, it's okay but not my favorite'. So going 8 for 8 blew me away. On top of the great beers, the staff is friendly and knowledgable and there's a neat greenhouse space that had live music the night of my visit. Definitely deserves a choice spot on any beer lover's brewery rotation! read more

Great, low-key place to hang out on a lazy evening. It can get a bit crowded on FriSat night, so come early. Great beer, and good food trucks when they have them (or just get some locally made crackers and beer cheese from the friendly bar staff!). Horrible service. I waited almost 20 minutes just to pay my tab on a slow day. After waiting 10 minutes the guy behind the counter asked how to help me, when I asked to pay my tab he said "just a second, let me help these people" and never returned. It took another employee to help me 10 minutes later. There was no excuse for the poor service today. read more
