I believe the ambiance and beer have gone downhill over past 6 months. We were there last weekend and beer selection not great, my IPA was pretty flat. And the three people working especially older man and lady were not very friendly. Bummer but lots of other places in can go to. read more

Yes! Went here on 6/17/2023. First time here. Good size patio and lots of tables inside. Bartender was very nice and attentive. A good selection of beer from light to dark. Looks like they package most of their beers. We tried the margarita sour, the chili beer, the Hefeweizen and the shandy. All beers were very good. Will definitely make the trip again to get beer! Like many of the small towns along the Front Range in a very general way most of them have at least one craft brewery. In some cases there are multiple ones and Windsor is one of those towns. I remember when Windsor didn't have any and then they got one and for the longest time just one then...(POP) there are multiple ones. I make this sound like this phenomenon happened overnight but if you live along the Front Range and hit every new brewery that pops up it feels like a bit of a wait but realistically it is a relatively short period of time before a new one opens between another. And if you once lived here and come back to visit then you got a lot of catching up to do. Especially if it's been a few years. Mighty River Brewing is one of the newer Windsor breweries that have come along since my last visit back. If you are on the Interstate it's fairly convenient to reach since it's close to it and not right in downtown Windsor. Beer here as with a lot of the Front Range breweries is solid. I got a favorite beer style I love to go to aside from a lager and that is kolsch. I had their Cutbow Kolsch which was great! This beer had a nice mellow and malty flavor to it and a crispness and floral flavor that made a nice cut to the muggy day I was encountering outside the day I went. We were looking for a place to catch the NFL playoff games and pet friendly inside since it was January. After digging around online we decided to try Mighty River. It's got many tables, some suitable for larger groups and others for smaller parities and chairs at the bar. Drinks were great. I had the Intergalactic IPA and my husband had the Hefeweizen. Friendly for well behaved dogs inside. Our pup sat and chilled under our table without issue. Lots of pets from friendly patrons. Connected to the brewery but separated by a hallway was a pizza place, so you can easily order food from there, which many folks were doing. Nice outside patio. Overall, great brewery with a friendly crowd and vibe. Plus it's pooch friendly inside and on the patio. Highly recommend. I took a 4-pack home since I liked the IPA that much! read more

We were here for our happy hours to celebrated pharmacy week. This place has friendly environment. Staff was helpful. We were able to play Bingo while we were here for beer. I didn't other any beer because I had to leave early. However, I would like to come back to this brewery to try their beer. This place is dog friendly environment & good atmosphere. read more

Perched along the highest point in Larimer County (east of I-25), the Mighty River flows a little more than a mile north of the Budweiser Event Center. Owner Dan and family have around 50 years of combined brewing experience, and this little spot allows them to show-off over a dozen brews that make you wondering where they've been your whole life. The beer is good, but didn't blow my hair back... The spot is nice, but not close to anywhere I typically go and would be out of the way to be a regular for me. I heard about this brewery when I opened up my Summer Passport booklet and saw there was a new brewery in Windsor. I was super excited to come and check it out! I found it without too much trouble and I really like the space! There is a nice patio and the roll-up doors out to the patio and then the open view to the mountains are a nice touch. I came soon after they opened and there were only a few beers on tap at the time. They allowed me to have a couple tasters of the beers before choosing one for a pint and I got the Mad Dog IPA. My wife found a sour she liked okay. The IPA was good, but not great for me. In hindsight I should have tried a flight since I have heard that many people seem to really like the beer here and I only tried a couple. I am sure I will be back since and I will adjust my review if I am impressed. There was a food truck sitting outside when we came and we got some food there, which was pretty good! I like that they had one available and that is becoming the standard for what I expect at a respectable brewery these days. Nice job! Great ownership, amazing beer and wonderful crowd always. The beer selection is always spot on and the brewer, when there will gladly discuss his beers. The relationship with the restaurant attached is really nice, but the availability of a food truck with plentiful outdoor seating makes this a go to place when looking for a brewery in Windsor. But the real gem here is the view at sunset....absolutely profile photo worthy!!! Yesterday, we stopped by for a beer and music and were not disappointed. Made new friends and reacquainted with old ones. Just a great night. Highly recommend this place. read more

Came here with my dog while it was raining out, and they allowed her inside. The bartender was very friendly and she was very engaging, something I really appreciate. The beer was really good, even though I only had one, I'm sure there are other great options too. The beer is fine, the location is fine. They get one star because of the service. The guy behind the counter was also fine, we each had 2 beers. We hung out there for a little bit and then left, and an hour later I remembered I forgot to close out my tab. I went back in and the guy behind the counter told me I already paid and closed out. My card was gone as well, the tab had been closed while we were still actually sitting outside. It started to go bad as soon as I told them I didn't close it out. They took the fact that their iPad said I paid as proof that I'm mistaken , and I had to repeat "but That wasn't me, I don't have my card" 3 times. The woman at the counter was clearly annoyed and told me to go look by where I parked. I told her I understand you work at a bar and deal with idiots all the time, but this wasn't one of those times. I told her they gave my card to someone else and she just looked at me and shrugged. I know this was just a mistake, we are all wearing masks and it's got to be tough recognizing and hearing everyone. But I was blown away at how rude and dismissive the woman behind the counter was. I didn't raise my voice but she could not wait for me to leave, and there was not an ounce of desire for her to help or make it right. I had to suggest they get my number for when the other folks realize they have the wrong card, but I've already cancelled the card and will wait to get a replacement. The beer is ok but the service sucks! I was just there an hour ago and they lost my credit card!!! My friend and I saw the bartender take my card and put it in a box to keep my tab open but when I went to close by tab there was no card! Not only did they lose my card they were unapologetic! Great northern Colorado brewery. They have tasty traditional brews like the Mad Dog IPA and some creative concoctions like the blueberry shake. The venue is spacious and maintains a level of intimacy. The staff is super friendly, which makes any visit enjoyable. read more

Mixed feelings here. A great location at the edge of Windsor in a new and super clean facility. Plenty of seating, indoor and outdoor(with heaters) available. We got there early and picked a freshly cleaned table. Ordered our drinks and some Georgia Boys 'Cue (we might be Georgia Boys groupies). Noticed all the staff were wearing masks and *most* folks were socially distanced. Drinks were tasty, and they offered quite a few styles of brews, which I liked. It was nice to be able to eat inside. We saw families with their kiddos and even a dog chilling inside, but as the evening went on it completely filled up and there were folks standing around waiting for tables. When we got up to leave a man about knocked my husband down to snatch our table which hadn't been sanitized yet. No reflection on the staff at all. However if you're trying to social distance during the pandemic, I recommend going early or calling to see when the crowds might be lower so you don't have to deal with 'pre-pandemic' behavior. If crowds don't bother you, then you'll be just fine! Definitely worth a stop for a tasty brew and even better if Georgia Boys are out there! read more

This is a relatively new brewery - nicely appointed with indoor and outdoor seating. The New England IPA and the Kolsch were very good. We popped in on a random Wednesday afternoon off, just looking for new names in the craft brewing scene. The beers were fantastic. I particularly enjoyed the Pineapple Pale Ale. Tim, the brewer/owner, was great to talk with. All in all, great place, great brews, great people. I give two thumbs up, and will be back ASAP. read more

Have stopped into Mighty River on several occasions and I have to say this place has become my favorite brewery in the area. The beers are delicious and there is a wide selection to choose from. I really enjoy the Wicked Awesome NE Style IPA, Pineview DIPA and there are always a great selection of German lagers that rotate through the menu. They also have cans for sale of selected beers and growlers to go. A new Italian restaurant opened next door that will deliver food to the brewery and there are also food trucks on a regular rotation. The setting is great, the staff is attentive and friendly and I've gotten to know the owners over the past few months and they are wonderful people. This place is a gem in Northern Colorado! read more

Pretty cool place with easy going vibe. I've been several times and enjoy the variety of beers they offer. I typically gravitate towards IPAs and enjoy Mad Dog but also the Wicked Awesome Is just that! They also have a margarita sour that is nicely tart but not too tart. Plus they occasionally mix it up with different flavors which is fun. I think the theme of rivers is pretty cool. If you get a chance to visit with the brewer he can connect the names of the beers to a river or place on a river-pretty cool. I wish I lived closer because they have lots of fun events also. I've been to a painting night and comedy too. Food trucks are also often there but the pizza place next door is good. We even ordered a pizza and salad last time and they delivered it to us in the brewery! On warm days the patio doors open and dogs are usually hanging out with their families. Oh, and they do some canning so we take beers to go sometimes. Go check it out! read more

I live in Windsor and have tried every brewery in the Windsor area, and I am curious why Mystic River charges a dollar more than any of the other breweries? There beer is OK, but not great and the male bartenders are not particularly friendly. Today I was there, sitting outside, and knocked my 1/2 filled class over. I asked for a cloth to wipe the table and then returned it. The bartender didn't say a word and although he didn't have to it would have been nice, if at least he had offered me a 1/2 class refill. I enjoy myself every time I visit this establishment. If you're a fan of great beer, good conversation and people and a fun environment, I highly recommend Mighty River. Puffy Coat is one of my all time favorite beers- a smooth, surprisingly light Vanilla Porter. You can't go wrong with any of the IPAs either. Overall, great place! read more

Our large group stopped in last night while we were waiting for a table at the restaurant next door. Six out of ten in our group ordered beer (a few people had more than one). There were three other tables there besides our group, so not a busy night. The owner asked my friend and I if we wanted a beer. We said no--we were waiting for our table to open up next door and just hanging out with the rest of our group. "This isn't a waiting area," he told us. "It's a brewery." I was really taken aback since most of the members in our group *had* ordered beer and we weren't taking space away from other patrons. It was an ugly interaction.
