    Hot pool and views

Very pleased with my stay at Hidden Ridge! Things to note: -The hotel is a 30 minute walk from downtown Banff. Walking downtown is easier (downhill). If you don't want to walk there is a free shuttle that comes once an hour. -Plenty of parking onsite -A heated pool. Great views of the mountains from the pool area, and really just the whole hotel area in general (perks of staying on the actual mountain and not downtown). -All of the rooms are condos and have a living room and kitchen. I'd suggest stocking up the fridge a bit - the hotel has no food or drink and the closest place to get it is downtown. -Rooms are clean and spacious, just a bit outdated. -No AC in the room, but this was never really an issue. It gets pretty cool at night and the room had a large fan. -250/night rate in the middle of summer season. This price is similar to what we saw downtown, so if you'd rather be in the thick of things you can pay a similar rate to do that. Although we wished we were closer to the bars and restaurants we really enjoyed our stay up in the mountains. You definitely can't find a hot spring pool with mountain views at any of the downtown hotels, that's for sure. If you are feeling more of a rustic vibe during your Banff visit then I highly suggest posting up at Hidden Ridge for a few days. You'll enjoy it!

Filthy switches. All of them are like this.

One of the worst hotels we have ever stayed at. The owner, management and staff care absolutely nothing about hospitality. They care solely about squeezing as many pennies as possible out of every guest. The rooms are run down, from extreme mildew and black mold in the bathrooms, to abhorrently filthy wall switches, to a broken stove top, to towel racks falling off the wall, to dangerously broken wall outlets, etc., etc. (see photos) This "resort" is listed as having daily room cleaning. This is a scam. It's not until after your first night staying here that you find out, via a note left by housekeeping, that there is no daily cleaning. They claim to clean the room on the third day of your stay, but that does not happen either. They claim to provide cleaning supplies, but none were provided during our 4 day stay. They leave 2 dishwasher detergent tabs under your sink and never replenish them. We had to call the front desk to ask for everything. There are cleaning supplies such as paper towels or cleaning rags or spray cleaner. They merely replace your towels. That is all. They claim to make the beds, but look at our photos to see how this goes...absolute worst housekeeping of all time. Hot tub closes over an hour before it's even dark outside. Staff is incredibly rude. They yell at guests for driving "the wrong way" through the property, despite the 100% absolute lack of any indication that the road is one-way. There are zero arrows, signs or anything posted or painted to indicate that the road is one-way. Laundry facilities are extremely filthy, tiny (2 old, run-down washers for a large complex) and extremely overpriced. It cost $20 to do 2 loads of laundry. This "resort" is an extremely loud party mecca on weekends. Every bachelor, bachelorette and birthday party from Calgary seems to stay here on weekends. I wouldn't send my worst enemy to Hidden Ridge "Resort"

I was hesitant to book with Hidden Ridge given it's owned by the same group that operates the Inns of Banff, but I was very pleasantly surprised by the quality of my stay there. The only disadvantage is no free ski shuttle, although there is bus service to downtown. As a guest free bus passes are available; we tried taking the bus but it was running late and I was freezing so we opted to drive into town instead. The staff was friendly and the condo in great condition, much better than average for a decent price and a good package (ski passes, breakfast items provided in fridge). The bed was comfortable, and we got to enjoy breakfast company of a doe each morning. The grounds are lovely. Very regrettably we did not get a chance to enjoy the hot tub although it looked fabulous. A little home away from home, I wish I owned the condo! Our neighbours upstairs were a little noisy at times, but overall the sound proofing in the place is acceptable. Parking was sometimes a challenge, if there's no above ground parking left it can be a little tricky to manoeuvre a large truck in the underground parking. It looks like they were making more spaces down there so here's hoping it will improve. Maybe they should consider designated parking spaces in front of condos where people are staying, instead of someone having to park way at the bottom and drag all their luggage, ski equipment etc. up the hill to where they're actually staying because someone else is parked in the spots in front of the condo. We'd love to come back with a group of friends for a ski trip next year!

This is a great place to stay! We came here to go snowboarding at Sunshine the next morning, and it was really close. It was also close enough to downtown. You need a car to get there but it was still convenient for sure. We stayed in a three floor cabin. Two bedrooms and one bath downstairs. A full kitchen, living room on the main floor. And a king size bed, with bathroom loft on the third floor. There were enough TVs everywhere as well. It was just really cozy, clean, and comfortable. Definitely didn't feel like I was staying at some hotel at all. We made ourselves at home immediately. The garage is a few steps away so it was close enough that we didn't need to trek out into the cold for too long.

My dog loved the bed they supplied

So he drove us into Banff NP. We stopped at Lake Louise, Johnston Canyon, Vermillion Lakes, the cascade falls, and then we began driving to the Fairmont Banff Springs Hotel. What an absolutely beautiful hotel in one of Nature's most breathtaking masterpieces. The beautiful earth-toned cream colored hotel climbs from the lower mountain side and stands beautifully amongst the tall pines surrounding it. We made our way to the Vermillion Bar, where are post worked back in his college days, and were greeted by a super sweet server, Ayala, who lit up whenever she laughed and smiled with you. We enjoyed cocktails, beef, tartare, veggie Credit, charred, avocado, and a unique presentation of hot wings I've never had before - the actual wing that has two bones in it was pre-cut down the middle so you were served the 2 halves as their own individual wing. Great flavors and it was very unique and enjoyable. All of it was delicious and undeniably yummy, and fairly priced for such an elegant location. We were expecting a much higher price point and were delightfully surprised to see that even though it is a luxury location, it was not price gouging or ridiculously inflated that one often finds in so many other locations that are "elegant or nice". If you have the opportunity to treat yourself to a very beautiful sunset under the majestic Mount Rundle, and want to enjoy a modern setting in a historic landmark, this is absolutely a visit you must make while in Banff National Park. Thank you Ayala for treating us so well, and sharing your sweet Australian journey with us. Chris, David, Trisha, and Keith

When you first walk in the lobby check in area is next to the large sitting area with a big fireplace that is hot enough to warm you but not make the place uncomfortable. The rooms are very well maintained and so are the walkways, fitness center, sauna, jacuzzis (2 large ones) and pool. The restaurant that is nothing the hotel we didn't eat at, but I ordered and old fashioned and it was good and strong, but no black cherry, but that was fine. The sauna was so clean and it felt great to warm up more in the mornings and relax in the jacuzzis after a hike in the evenings. The jets were powerful and the views from that area overlook the the mountains and the gondola an Norquay. This hotel was great, only one thing really, the laundry room at 2 washers and 2 dryers which were of good quality, but one was down. We stayed here for 6 days and i thought that was a good amount of time without it becoming too day to day feeling. 5 stars because we had a great time there AND they provided loaner bear sprays for all of us. I don't know if they can do it for everyone, but that saves you at lease 35 bucks for each spray that you can't take back in the flight if you do t use (and don't check bags). I guess I'm not Canadian, and I got used to it, but having a bit more wind protection on the exterior walkways would have been nice - or warmer robes.... Not an issue in summer and not a huge deal in winter but worth knowing. 2) Restaurant isn't great. Mid level chain place. Much better options in town. Staff great loved the spacious rooms and ski lockers.

It goes without saying that the views out the window were like every where else, spectacular. We were very busy and therefore did not have much time to enjoy the amenities of the hotel. It really was just for sleeping and eating. Overall, they did a great job! Dinner at the lounge, and a wonderful buffet breakfast. ( A few pictures are also attached.) They really take good care of their guests. I was so surprised to read some of the lower star reviews. Are we speaking about the same hotel here? 1 STAR -- RIMROCK MANAGEMENT NEEDS TO ANSWER FOR THIS…read more Rimrock management should be absolutely ashamed of how my daughter's wedding reception was handled. This was not a minor service issue. This was not one employee having a bad night. This was a complete failure by the hotel to provide the experience we paid for and, more importantly, a complete failure to understand what a wedding reception is supposed to be. We paid for the reception from 5:00 PM until 1:00 AM. What we got was a night of frustration, embarrassment, unnecessary security involvement and guests who ultimately felt so uncomfortable that they left around 10:00 PM. Three hours of a paid reception simply went unused because of the atmosphere created by the hotel. Management needs to ask themselves how they allowed this to happen. When our guests arrived, the reception room wasn't even properly ready. Tables weren't set. Name tags weren't out. There was no water on the tables. The easel for the welcome sign wasn't set up. And the BRIDE HERSELF had to set up tables at her own wedding reception. How can management possibly think that is acceptable? The bride should have been celebrating with her new husband. Instead, she was doing the hotel's job. Then came the treatment of our guests. The groom was refused alcohol because staff claimed he was drunk, despite the fact that he was sober. Guests were accused of drinking and driving. A mother who had not had alcohol in over a year went to her vehicle to pump breast milk and was followed by staff/security. A guest carrying an approximately 2-inch pocket knife was somehow considered enough of a threat to involve security. And throughout the evening, our guests felt like they were being watched. Security was monitoring people at a wedding reception where everyone was simply trying to celebrate. Staff repeatedly approached the mother of the bride telling her that people were being cut off because they were ordering doubles. Again, nobody expected the hotel to allow irresponsible drinking. But there is a massive difference between responsible alcohol service and making an entire wedding party feel like they are under investigation. This is where management completely lost the plot. You were hosting a wedding. Not a nightclub. Not a criminal investigation. Not a security operation. A WEDDING. These people were friends and family who had travelled to celebrate the bride and groom. Instead of making them feel welcome, your staff made them feel watched, judged and unwelcome. And the consequences were devastating. THE BRIDE AND GROOM NEVER HAD THEIR FIRST DANCE. THE BRIDE NEVER GOT HER FATHER-DAUGHTER DANCE. Those are once-in-a-lifetime moments. You cannot refund them. You cannot reschedule them. You cannot apologize and give them another chance. They are gone forever. And management needs to understand that. You didn't simply provide poor customer service. Your handling of this reception contributed to an environment where the celebration effectively fell apart. People began leaving around 10:00 PM, even though the reception was paid for until 1:00 AM. Imagine paying for a wedding reception until 1:00 AM and having your guests so uncomfortable that they're gone by 10:00. That should be an absolute embarrassment to management. My daughter and her husband deserved to spend their wedding night surrounded by the people they love, dancing, laughing and celebrating their marriage. Instead, they had to deal with hotel staff, security, accusations and a reception that never became the celebration it was supposed to be. The bride even had to help set up the room herself. Management failed this couple when they were supposed to be taking care of them. And I want to be very clear: This isn't about wanting special treatment. It's about expecting the basic service that was paid for. It's about expecting a hotel that hosts weddings to actually be prepared for a wedding. It's about expecting guests to be treated respectfully. And it's about expecting management to understand that a wedding isn't just another event on a calendar. For the bride and groom, this was their wedding day. They only get one. Rimrock management should be asking themselves: How did a wedding we were paid to host until 1:00 AM end with guests leaving at 10:00 PM? How did the bride end up setting up her own reception? Why did the groom get accused of being intoxicated when he wasn't? Why were guests accused of drinking and driving? Why was a mother pumping breast milk followed to her vehicle? Why was security making guests feel uncomfortable at a wedding? And most importantly: Why did the bride and groom leave their own wedding reception without ever having their first dance? Those are questions management needs to answer. An apology after the fact won't give my daughter her first dance back. It won't give her father back the dance he never got. It won't give the bride and groom back the h

There were some hangers to hang a few items and there was 1 drawer in the nightstand. I wish we had a dresser. Excellent and friendly staff. I really enjoyed the vibe of this place. I would definitely stay here again.

It is close to downtown and grants access to many different trails that are great for biking, walking, hiking, running. The resort is a bit outdated and could benefit from renovations, but tbh, you spend most of the time outside of the resort, so as long as there's a place to sleep and a bathroom, that's the only thing that matters lol. It's nice to have a kitchen as well. The sofa bed is very uncomfortable and creaks a lot. When we pulled the mattress out, it looked so dirty, so we double layered the sheets. The bed inside the room is pretty comfortable and clean though. No major complaints about the bathroom, other than the toilet running like all night. They have a shuttle that runs on a schedule and transports people to and from downtown which is awesome. The amenities, like the gym, conference center, and pool are super old-fashioned. The gym was really interesting. I've never seen such old equipment before. I only worked out there once. I felt like I couldn't do much, but gotta work with what's available. We got to see elk around the resort on many occasions, and everyday, it was wonderful walking out and seeing the mountain views. Also, epic pickleball views. Everyone working here was kind and friendly.

The condos are great for us with our baby because of the separate bedrooms and full kitchens. I love that I can make meals to save money on food. I also absolutely love the wood burning fireplace. It makes it so cozy after a long day out exploring Banff. The location is outside the main town site however it is quiet the views are incredible. It's also dog friendly! There's plenty of parking and pretty well maintained. We will definitely be returning again! It's not a 5-star hotel but it's comfortable and they are renovating and updating them.

Pro's Newly renovated with windows and doors that open into the courtyard. Grab a table and chairs and have a cozy little setup next to your room. The bathroom is large and clean and updated. Plenty of storage and higher quality finishes. A safe and closet and cubbies and chest of drawers. Check-in is self service and requires an app. Pour over coffee. Free, Off-street parking, on the edge of town. Near a gas station and a bus stop. Super quiet. Never heard another person even though the property was booked the entire time we were there. Cons Price for value is a bit steep but cheap for Banff overall The amenities are really at the Canoe hotel across the street. Laundry. Sauna. Hot pools. Coffee supplies. Restaurant. No early arrivals accommodated. Overall this is a fun spot and worth a recommendation.

Really, really love the designs of the rooms. They blend older, "your grandma's house" kind of bases with a bright, simple style. It's got a unique look that wouldn't seem to work on paper.. but man, they got it down pat here. Rooms were super clean (which is really the main thing I worry about with travel), and RIDICULOUSLY quiet, especially for being a couple shakes away from main street. Seriously, I forgot we even had neighbours. Not a peep of noise all night (on a friday, at that!). Our only real (and small) gripe was the temperature. Despite fiddling with the room heating, it was always just a little chilly. But we had a tall roof, a big window, and perhaps not the best "fiddling" knowledge. All in all, not a big deal :) This place was cute, sweet, cozy and clean. Almost makes you feel kinda bad about wanting to stay in your room the whole day while beautiful banff is waiting outside. (lol) I never thought I'd learn to find forest-floor laminate charming. But here we are.
