Found this online while looking for accommodation in Canmore a Rocky Mountain get away. More of a staycation. We booked a week and had a wonderful stay. The resort is very mountainous looking resort on the outside, in fact very inviting. This location is on the outskirts of the busy Canmore Town. With hiking trails to town or by the river. The staff very friendly and accommodating upon checkin. There is 2 levels of underground parking for guests. Upon arriving to our suite as we entered it was like entering a apartment full kitchen with counter seating for 4 and huge table, 2 bedrooms, 2 huge bathrooms, washer and dryer, living room with fireplace, a balcony with BBQ. Looking over the courtyard and pool. Considering how full this resort was with guests, it's very quiet inside the unit. There is a cafe connected to the resort called Black Dog Cafe. Note: stay away it's very over priced below par food with very slow service. Better off going to Tim Hortons down the road for half the price and fresh hot breakfast. There is a cute Deli called Bohemian smoked meat Czech Deli across the street highly recommend! Freshly made sandwiches and soups. In the Garden centre of all places is a Tea house with gourmet Japanese breakfast or Lunch made fresh everyday called Wagashi. This resort is very well situated amongst the mountains and away from town. Will be back in the future had a fantastic stay. read more

Perfect spot for our family of 5. Planty of space in the 2 bdrm unit. 2 king beds plus a pullout. 2 large bathrooms. Full kitchen was very convenient for breakfast and some dinners, especially for the kids. Every room has a patio with a gas grill. Pool is small but it was nice. Hotel is clean and well maintained. Staff is friendly. Our room came out to about $650 CAD/night in the middle of high season which was pretty reasonable. read more

Booked the Stoneridge recently. It looked great in the photos. It was pricey;they wanted nearly 2000 dollars for 3 nights but appeared to be a high end resort. It was anything but. When we arrived, there were virtually no staff, just 1 guy doing check in. We were given a dingy, unacceptable suite with a view of a parking lot and furnished with what looked like second hand office furniture. We complained and left after a night. They told us we were lucky to get the last 2 nights fees cancelled. The only thing luckier would have been to avoid this place altogether. They advertise and charge as a high end resort. Desk staff not the friendliest. Pool and hot tub close early at 10pm when it's still light out in the Summer which was not great. Two bedroom suite was a bit sparse. Not a luxury accommodation by any means, but spacious enough. Housekeeping only comes every 3 2 days which is not ok, especially for those paying for a suite. read more

5 star is for value. The spot is huge with a fireplace, full kitchen, laundry, and dishwasher. It also has the largest shower and bath tub I've seen in a while. The slower could literally fit 3 people. You could have a mini foam party in there. But I digress. This is basically renting a full apartment. It was a welcome and comfy stay, which was really needed after a day of hiking or climbing. Noise levels were fine, parking is simple, check in and out was standard. There's a cafe and bar attached to the hotel and it was easy to get around from this location. I think the reason it's a 5 and not a 4 is that it felt so good to come back to affordable comfort, instead of the planned car camping. That would've sucked. Hahaha Treat yourself a bit! The condo was in good condition except for the bathroom shower which was beyond disgusting. It looked like the condo and bathroom had been updated but the tile and shower pan were missed. Unfortunately we didn't notice the dirt and mold until late at night so we just put a towel on the floor to take a shower. I complained to the manager the next day and they refunded us $100 but I would have preferred a clean shower especially with Covid concerns. It left me wondering how clean the rest of the condo really was during our stay. The manager said they were having issues with their janitorial service and would look into it. I wouldn't want someone else to experience this level of filth so I am taking the time to write this review. read more

Super modern design, we have a two bedroom condo with a balcony BBQ right on the corner of the property with a view of the pool and mountains. This feels so good compared to some of the other hotels we have stayed at in Canada. Everything has a really new feel and is super clean (free wifi0. Huge rooms!!! Washer and dryer in unit, full kitchen, comfortable bed, huge bathroom, ac throughout. Def worth the money. Can totally fit 4 people easily in the king suite. Only down side we were on the first floor and just the location of the room didn't get too much light which made the room seem pretty dark throughout the day. Relaxing, comfortable, nicely furnished. Truly all the comforts of a gorgeous, modern home. And, it's quiet so even though there is no vacancy here right now, we're in our own cozy hideaway. Last night we used the excellent gas grill to BBQ perfect steaks & local sweet corn. Right now, we're sipping coffee while I do laundry. Next, we'll walk around the nearby trails. I only stayed one night here, on a trip galavanting through the Rockies, but I wish I had more nights there. We stayed in a suite, with a beautiful kitchen, laundry machines, bath and separate shower, fireplace in living area, and a BBQ on the patio. The hotel also has outdoor pool and hottub, and parking is in an underground garage below the hotel. It is just a bit out of town, a quick drive. They provide you with robes, slippers, laundry detergent, dryer sheets, and even bath salts to relax after a long day of hiking or skiing. The only downside is when we were there the first week of June, there was no restaurant open in the hotel. But we had booked the quite with intentions to cook anyway, so we grilled. You'd also have the choice to go out to town. I will definitely be returning. read more

Great place for a family vacation. We had the 2 bedroom with a full kitchen and a grill on the patio. Fireplace was very cozy and the Mountain View was speculated. There is a grocery store close by for drinks and snacks or to cook a full meal if you want to. Staff is very friendly and accommodating. Internet is free and a good speed. We will stay again. Only 20 minutes from Banff yet half the cost for twice as much space and separate bedrooms. Very clean with great housekeeping service. It was perfect for us. read more

This hotel exceeded our expectations in every way. Amenities, to name a few, include full size kitchen, a BBQ grill, washer/dryer and a bath tub separate from a shower. The suite is spacious, clean and modern. We happily spent 5 nights here and would definitely stay here again if we are back in the area. Not up to par for what they charge, even though I supposedly got a great deal I paid almost $600 for one night for one room, that's pretty crazy... And of course as soon as I showed up it was getting chilly already in Jasper so I went to turn on the fireplace and it didn't work... I'm not really sure why the maids don't check these things before they allow the new clients to arrive... So we called for help and it took almost 2 hours of fixing and even after that the fireplace would only work about half the time... Also did you know they make you sign a contract to promise to pay $500If you stay even one minute too late in the pool after the time of closing which is 10 PM... Also you get to pay $20 for you if you don't put all your dishes in the dishwasher afterwards... I find this ridiculous, and very mommy state, considering the price I paid if I wanna leave some dishes in the sink it shouldn't cost me an additional $20, that's absurd. I felt like asking the hotel if they were also going to fine me if I didn't wash out the tub and make my bed? I've never seen a contract like that and I've been staying in hotels almost 40 years. read more

During a weekend in Canmore we stayed in this hotel. It is as beautiful as the pictures show. We did get upgraded to a big suite, so I cannot comment on the regular rooms, but this room was absolutely fantastic. It was an large apartment (the apartments are also available for sale) with a big master and enormous ensuite with balcony with view of the pool, resort and mountains and a second bed and bath room. The room came with a big very fire place and modern kitchen. Everything was very nice and new and beautifully decorated. All in all it had a luxury feel to it with nice finishing and details (iPod/USB hook-up stereo, 2 TV's, marble countertops, 2 waterfall showers, etc.) There was a big pool and a hot tub. Only minus point is that robes were only available for purchase. Although the regular price for this room is around $175 and which is much more than I would normally spend on hotels, you get a LOT of that. I have stayed in very expensive hotels, but the Stoneridge is one of the nicest places I have stayed at. If I can find a good rate, I would definitely come back here. This would be very good accommodation for a ski holiday as well. read more

First off, finding this hotel was hard at night especially when the streets aren't very well lit. The sign to the hotel was facing the other direction so we missed it the first time. When we arrived at the front desk, the receptionist was very friendly and helpful. He gave us all the information we needed. The parking was indoors and very easy to access. The hotel also has an indoor pool and hot tub area. Unfortunately, we were also too tired from our hikes to go enjoy the pool or hot tub. When we got the king suite, boy were we surprised. Everything was modern - from the kitchen to the bedroom. Basically, its an apartment - even includes personal washer and dryer. A HUGE PLUS!! There was even a fireplace (gas) in the living room. My boyfriend liked it so much that he would turn it on every time he was chilling in the living room. Every room comes with its own personal WiFi. So you don't have to worry about slow internet. The bathroom was huge - a stand up shower, a bath tub, and two sinks. Everything was clean and neat. The kitchen had everything - utensils/bbq utensils, dishes, cups, dish washer, microwave, coffee machine, water boiler, toaster, and oven. The only thing they don't have are condiments. This place was wonderful, even tho we only stayed for two nights. If we come back again, we would definitely come back. read more

deceiving management, policies and staff Indifference to the customer happiness Luck of professionalism It started by placing deceiving pricing on Booking.com. I caught the issue and within 2 minutes was on the phone with booking.com (GREAT SERVICE!!!!) that called the hotel immediately but the hotel did not badge and enforced the reservation to the booking.com rep dismay. Once we arrived, although I clearly stated 4 adults (and booked this way) the 2nd bed (sofa bed) was not arranged and no 4 towels. The staff made it a big favor to fix it and then arranged the sofa bed incorrectly (blanket under the sheet) and we had to redo it ourselves. Later when I called to ask for a late check-out, I got a simple no ("it is 11AM") no "sorry we cannot do it" or any explanation... this is the place general attitude... And lastly we were strongly informed that if we will not leave the kitchen EXACTLY like we got it, we will be charged $20 cleaning fees... never seen it before and I spend 30% of my time in hotels. How about gorgeous mountain views when you look out the window, fresh crisp air and a big steamy hot tub in the resort for you to use? We've stayed here multiple times; most recently just before Christmas for a couple of days skiing. This is an amazing resort hotel. The complex is newer, modern, slightly upscale and well kept. The beds are very comfortable. Parking is underground. The outdoor pool and hot tub are great any time of year. read more

We were two adults and two kids who stayed in a 1 bedroom apartment. We stayed over Easter and had a lovely stay. The apartment was impeccable, we found everything we needed and everything was spotless. The employees, both the ones arranging the Easter egg hunt on Easter morning and the reception staff and housekeeping was so cheerful, polite and helpful. I can fully recommend a stay at Stone Ridge Mountain Resort, and we will be back for sure. read more

This is a wonderful condo resort in a beautiful location. Has everything you need to stay here, including washer and dryer. Only problem we have here in room 311 is a bed that slumps in the middle and a couch that has springs coming up that you can feel when you sit at each end. Apparently they are not paying attention to how worn the beding is here. Met the manager who is a nice guy but he never asked how our stay was. Not a good sign. read more

I'd love to give 5 stars because of the service and the beautiful room and mountain view. But there were a couple of things that bring the mark down. The temperature control knob on the fridge was broken along with the light in the kitchen and we had an issue with the shower head spraying all over the shower door which my husband fixed on his own. The road noise can be loud if you stay in a room in the front. The service was great, they responded quickly, and the staff was extremely polite. The resort is really nice. So honestly those other issues are no big deal. We would definitely stay there again. read more

What a beautiful place to stay. The view was incredible and the condo units were very clean. All of the staff were super friendly which made staying there that much better. I have a wonderful time staying here and I would recommend it to anyone. The only thing that was less than desirable with that the train is right near you and my window faced the train, meaning I sometimes woke up in the middle of the night. Other than that it was fantastic, rooms are huge, bathrooms even bigger. Kitchen was nice and the TV was great! Heated parking is a plus as well! read more

So far this place is great. I had reserved a two bedroom suite for myself and our daughter, but when we arrived, found that we'd been upgraded to a Mountain View King Suite thanks to my Expedia Elite status! And yeah, the mountain is indeed there, looking in at me through my bedroom window! The rooms are large and clean. Our master bedroom suite has both a huge bathtub and huge separate shower and two-sink vanity with lots of room so my husband and I don't squabble. Our daughter's bathroom is smaller but very nice, with the same oversized tub but no separate shower. The kitchen is nicely outfitted with double toaster, microwave, stove, full sized refrigerator and lots of counter space. There are flat screen TVs in each bedroom as well as in the living room. Lots of room to spread out and relax. The balcony is nice, and we do plan on cooking out on the deluxe gas grill. My only complaint is the wi-fi. It's not dependable at all. The PC laptop connection keeps dropping and sometimes can't connect at all; the iPad has a bit more luck but even so it's slow and glitchy. We have been making trips to Banff for 16 years and opted to stay in Canmore on this visit. We are thrilled that we discovered this lodge! The location is wonderful - convenient access to the wilderness areas we enjoy, yet all the comforts of home. Our suite was amazing - a very well appointed full kitchen, two bathrooms, washer and dryer, deck with a grill and incredibly comfortable living, dining, bed room plus a den. When we mentioned that the pillows were a little too full for us, they replaced them with memory foam! Wonderful, friendly service. We will definitely be back. We've stayed here a few times and are never disappointed. The rooms are clean and spacious and the heated outdoor pool and hot tub are great! We found on our last visit that our room had seen better days...some of the furniture had been damaged at some point and seemed hastily repaired, but everything was functioning and we had no issues. It was my birthday weekend and Stone Ridge Mountain Resort was a gem of a place to call home on our Thanksgiving weekend trip to Canmore and Banff. The staff from the front desk to the crew is very professional and extremely helpful with everything from directions to printing out boarding passes to calling local restaurants The lobby was clean and warm with a dispenser of ice water with sliced lemons in it and little paper cups. Our suite was spotless and cozy with a beautiful kitchenette, plenty of dinnerware, pans, cutlery and a full stovetop. The fridge was immaculate. There is a coffeemaker and packets of coffee from a near by roaster. There is a flat screen TV over the fireplace and one in each bedroom. The master bedroom has a huge, two person, soaking bathtub, which is fun. Each bedroom also has a spacious shower and our king-sized bed was very comfortable with plenty of pillows of varying firmness. The temp control was very easy to use. There were two cozy armchairs. The couch was a pull-out type, so more practical than comfortable, but it was clean and fine. The pool looked beautiful and we saw other visitors using the hot tub, which seemed great. Our room came with a little balcony overlooking a mountain view, which had a gas grill on it. One of the best amenities is the underground heated parking. For people from LA, it was perfect and secure. There is also wi-fi in each room. I could download my emails, but I wasn't on it to surf webpages or anything. I'm sure it would be fine. It's about a 15 to 20 minute drive up to Banff, and you pay to enter the national park every day, which is good for 24 hours. And, we did see traffic control people walking around checking the "paid" receipt the gate asks you to tape in your window although it's an "honor" system for you to stop at the gate and pay. I don't know if that's true if you stay in Banff or not. But, it's only 8 Canadian $ per person. I'm happy to support any park preservation system. Banff is great, but staying in Canmore was perfect for us. Banff can feel very touristy with big buses full of visitors pulling in and unloading 40 t0 80 people at the attractions. I highly recommend Stone Ridge Mountain Resort. I know other reviewers have said that there are stores nearby. It's not like a mega-mall, though. It's just three businesses in a one level building. Also, there is NO trailer park next-door. I don't know why that person wrote that. However, it isn't set up in the mountain wilderness, but neither are most of the places in Banff, but we didn't hear any traffic. read more

We rented a 3 bedroom, 2 bathroom suite which was the best way to go for us. We were there for our daughter's wedding and the accommodations were excellent!! The king size beds were extremely comfortable, the pillows were fluffable! The place was like a 3 bedroom apartment but with a cleaning service every day if we wanted it. The bathrooms were high end and big. The bathtub in the master bath was enormous!! The water pressure was always perfect! The refrigerator was a full size one and we stuffed it with plenty of food and drinks. The stove/range worked perfectly as did the microwave. The view from our room was of the Three Sisters Mountain range and was so wonderful to awaken to every morning! The outdoor hot tub was amazing and the pool is a heated salt water pool which is just AMAZING!!! The hotel provides beach towels for the pool area which is accessed from the men or women's washrooms on the main floor. Overall, our stay at Stoneridge Mountain Resort was incredibly comfortable and we had the best time. We will definitely stay again when we travel to Canmore in the future! read more

This place was amazing!! We rented a two bedroom two bath condo. Very reasonable rate from a Wednesday to Saturday. We were told we would be on the 1st floor and asked if they had anything on a higher floor so we could enjoy a better view. The helpful desk clerk gave us a suite on the 4th floor. We had breathtaking views of the 3 Sister Mountains. The condo was beautiful, spacious and clean! The maid service comes in everyday to make the beds, wipe the counters and refill any items you are out of, including detergent and dryer sheets for the washer/dryer you have in the suite. If you need any additional house keeping that is available upon asking. Any trip I make to Canmore now I will be staying at the Stone Ridge Mountain Resort!! read more

Me and my husband were to arrive on 12/24 for our honeymoon trip from Kansas City, MO. The day before my dog ate my passport - seriously I can't make this stuff up! We had to cancel our trip and when my husband called not only will they honor our booking in February but we received a very kind email from Sara Alexander. Although we haven't stayed there YET I am looking forward to my honeymoon there in February.
