Perfect for family with kids. Really enjoyed our stay here. It's a bit out of the way which means peace and quiet, but is only a few minutes away from Canmore for food and shopping. Great hot tub too! There are a couple of gas stations nearby and there is easy access to the Trans-Canada highway. We were perplexed that housekeeping didn't make the beds daily, but perhaps that is just a Canadian thing? read more

Probably one of my favorite places I've ever stayed at via Airbnb. From what I learned each suite is personally owned by different people so they can rent it out as they see fit I believe. I rented from Mahkbool, he was very informative and made sure they he was always available for contact if I needed him. I loved how clean the space was, the design was modern, yet very homey. Kitchen space by far was my favorite area. Each suite also had their own balcony! Although the #1 thing I loved the most of the entire stay was the black out curtains they have around the suite to ensure no light gets in (I have sensitive eyes so sleeping at new places was/is always a problem). Even morning time still felt dark so waking up wasn't so harsh nor was I disturbed whilst sleeping. The suite also comes with washer and dryer and all the basic necessities were provided (towels, toothpaste, detergent pods, paper towel, etc.). It made staying the long weekend very convenient and easy. Not to mention they're only 1-2 hours away from the main hiking areas of Moraine Lake and Lake Louise. The suite also came with underground parking (code will be provided for garage door) and access to the communal BBQ grill, fitness room and hot tub use (FAVE). The resort overall was also very quiet, which I really liked as well. Definitely would come back to stay here again! read more

First off, this isn't a Fairmont, and Copperstone Resort can't compete with that level of features. But it really doesn't have to. Copperstone manages to pack in a number of features for a palatable price tag. The four lodges center around an outdoor hot tub and two communal barbecues. The grounds are decorated effectively and naturally. Below the cabins lie underground parking and utilitarian parking lockers (though I find the security of the latter suspect). The rooms are very reasonably sized, feature two TVs, wireless, balcony, and decent beds. On the downside, the fireplace was disappointing - it doesn't give off any heat, similar to watching the fireplace TV channel. This is clearly set up as a self-cater environment, and you'll find a lot of cutlery and basic equipment to work with. Service was always pleasant and knowledgable. In terms of location, Copperstone is 10 minutes outside the park proper. This is really a great place to stay. Don't let the name "Dead Man's Flats" discourage you! read more

I love love this resort! The suites are amazing as well as the view. The rooms are very clean and come with washer and dryer + detergent! The only complaint I have is that the sofa bed is not very comfortable and you can feel all the springs underneath. Copperstone Resort is situated at the very bottom of the Rockies about a 20 min drive from the town of Banff, Alberta towards Calgary. Outdoor activities are plentiful in this area including hiking, kayaking/canoeing, biking, swimming, horseback riding, fishing, and even whitewater rafting. Definitely recommend if you are visiting the area! read more

Here are the pros: nice property, great check in staff, clean rooms, nice hot tub, nice barbecues and fire pit, heated underground parking, quiet for the most part, well appointed rooms with kitchen, nice amenities in the room. Here are the cons: ABSOLUTELY the WORST beds I have ever tried to sleep on at a hotel in years. I was so sore and hurting that I tried the couch. It was not any better. The pull out mattress was really bad as well. My kids' bunk beds were hard and uncomfortable as well. I cannot stress enough about how bad the beds were. The most important thing about a hotel room is the beds and they're terrible. The wifi kept kicking me out so I constantly had to sign back in. The tv was average. No blue ray player just a DVD player. Fireplace looked nice but was electric and blew cold air out. Not sure if I would return. read more

My wife and I went on a weekend retreat this winter and decided to give this place a go. Located just 5 minutes east of Canmore in Dead Man's Flats. We happened to show up during a massive road rebuild so getting to the front desk was a bit of a pain but I have to credit the resort for putting out a bunch of signs to direct us where to park and access the front desk. When we arrived at our suite we were really impressed. This place looks better than my house. Our 1 room suite came with a full kitchen, nice living room area, dinner table and large bathroom. There is in-suite washer and dryer for laundry and all the cutlery and cook ware you need to make breakfast, lunch & dinner. My wife and I used the kitchen quite a bit and were impressed that the staff cleaned our dishes daily. This quiet resort was perfect for our weekend getaway. Being close to Canmore made getting groceries and supplies of the alcoholic variety easy. We were able to unplug and unwind which made our childless weekend fantastic! I have to say, if you are planning on an outdoor adventure vacation in any season, you need to stay here. You get heated underground parking! Next time I venture to the slopes for some much needed powder carving, I'm staying here. The only downfall to this place is the Wifi was terrible and the DVD player doesn't play BluRay discs. read more

Total dump, do not stay here. Worst hotel experience I have ever had. I unwisely prepaid for this hotel which purports to be a 4 star property but is more of a 2-star with few amenities, ugly view of the back of the adjacent Husky stations garbage dumpster. We check in, see that the room is ugly and dated, and worse, there was one bed fewer than we thought we had booked. So without unpacking, we immediately call the front desk to see what they can do. They say I have to deal with Expedia and they can't help me with a better room. So we return the keys, tell them we won't be staying, and split to a much better hotel. I contact Expedia and they say I will have to pay a one night cancellation fee because I cancelled when I arrived, unless the hotel agrees to waive the charge. They put me on hold, call the hotel, the. Come back and tell me that the charge will now be 2-nights because I set foot in that ugly and dirty room. I told everyone I met in Canmore about this scamster hotel and the locals were well aware. One shopkeeper told me she had booked someone in there as a last resort, but accidentally booked the wrong date. She realized as soon as she did it, so she called the hotel right away. They refused to cancel the booking made a couple minutes earlier and charged her for a full night. Other reviewers noted the wifi is not usable. Looks to me like the kind of place a person could get bed bugs. Keep driving and stay in Canmore. Even the hostel there would be nicer than this place. The photos are misleading. My fiance made the reservations for four people and a dog as my aunt had wanted to visit Banff and Lake Louise. It truly feels like staying at a home away from home! First of all, this resort has got it all: - An electric fire-place - Two huge rooms and two bathrooms upstairs, with a bath-tub and shower; the nicest touch: they give you bath salts to relax in the bath-tub after a long day! - A fully equipped kitchen, with stove and oven; my only peeve was that they should really tell you how much water to put for their coffee pouches. Our coffee tasted really bitter and water leaked, so we had grinds in the coffee. - Washing machine AND dryer - Comfortable beds! Oh my gosh, was it ever lovely to wake up to sunrise on the Three Sisters Mountains. Breath-taking! - Very clean and well-kept The price of staying here is way cheaper than staying in Canmore and/or Banff. Deadman's Flats is a nice little and quiet hamlet, especially if you're not the party-hardy kind who enjoys staying in Banff with the rest of the ski party crowd. If you needed anything, it's a quick drive into Canmore. Minor problem: They claimed that Wi-Fi was free, but we couldn't get any access. I really want to come back in summer time. Very restful & relaxing place to stay. Units were spacious, clean & comfortable. Full kitchen, washer/dryer in every unit. Staff was very friendly & helpful whether providing little things you need or information on activities/tours, must-sees, restaurants, etc. You will need to rent a car though as there wasn't much in the immediate area. We went to Canmore, which was the next town over, for breakfasts. We liked that the resort was located only about half hour away from Banff for outdoor sightseeing, guided tours, gondola rides, shopping & restaurants & an hour drive to Calgary for the city experience, casinos, restaurants...best of both worlds! Stayed at Copperstone for 5 nights in July. Location is just outside of Canmore. We felt that this was a positive because we didn't have to deal with the crowds, traffic, etc. Very easy to get to Canmore, Banff, Lake Louise, etc. The condo was very quiet and nicely landscaped. Hot tub, high-end gas barbecues, fully-stocked kitchen, underground parking, large suites, washer/dryer and outdoor patios were positives. Only negatives were the electronic fireplace (glorified light fixture which does not provide any heat) and occasional barking from a dog. I love dogs but I don't want to hear them when I'm staying at a condo during vacation. read more

We stayed at copperstone that advertises 11 pm quiet time. Well there was a party upstairs that didnt quiet down. There was 6 people on the deck smoking and more in the room and a bunch of cars parked outside. Didnt sleep. front desk called the room and of course they told him they didnt have people in the room and only put music on once. I called twice and he did not go to see the room upstairs he only called them again and i know this as he called me back and told me both times. The next day when i checked out they said the notes said there were no other people in the room and no noise. They lie and dont respond properly to problems so not going back. read more

Copperstone Resort had everything we were looking for in a hotel. First and foremost, it is CLEAN! Trust me on this. Tastefully decorated and modern. Plenty of space to stretch out after a day of exploring. Only a few decent eateries in Canmore and Banff so the kitchen was a God-send. Housekeeping service was thorough and unobtrusive. The extra time driving to and from our daily activities in Banff was definitely worth it. I'd stay here again in a heartbeat. read more

My boyfriend and I wanted to get away from the city for a relaxing night out for his birthday. We booked this hotel because it was outside of Canmore away from the busyness and noise. It was a little above our price range but we were willing to pay extra for some peace and serenity. Unfortunately it was not what we expected. Upon initial arrival, we were greeted kindly by the desk staff. The room included underground parking, access to the outdoor hottub and fitness room. We then entered our suite which was very cozy and clean, and a bottle of wine was waiting for us as per our request. It also contained all appliances and cooking utensils, and anything else someone could need. We wanted a room specifically with a fireplace because we didn't have one at home, so we immediately went over and tried to turn on the fireplace. It wouldn't work for us, so we called the front desk and asked how to turn it on. The lady then said "oh yeah i forgot the room you are in is waiting on parts, sorry" she had the "oh well" attitude but we decided to let it go. We then went out to eat and when we came back, we walked onto our floor and heard a loud barking from a few doors down. We figured the dog was barking cause he heard us but he continued to bark for the next hour and a half. We wanted to distract ourselves from the barking and watch a movie so we went to look through the movies that were offered to guests by the office but they were all quite outdated. We then went back to the suite to try to watch a movie on Netflix but found that the wifi was not working, it was lagging so much that it would time out on itself. We finally were fed up with the barking dog and the wifi so we called the front desk and the same lady answered the phone. She said that there's nothing she could do about the wifi because the hotel was at full capacity and the wifi would only work if no more than two devices per unit used the wifi but that some rooms had up to 8 people. She said that anywhere in the mountains the wifi doesn't work When there's that many people. This is actually not the case because we have been to plenty of hotels in the mountains that all had working wifi. If the hotel cannot accommodate their guests internet needs then I believe they need to upgrade their wifi. She sent a staff member to check out the dog and try to call the guests of that room to come back for their unattended dog. We didn't want to wait around until the dog stopped barking so we left the hotel. When we got back we decided to checkout the hot tub but it was full with a max capacity of ten people. We then decided to go to bed at that point since there was nothing else to do. We were woken up numerous times throughout the night by the people above us because we could clearly hear some guy puking his guts out all night. To make things worse, we woke up to find puke all over our patio, which ruined our plans of having a coffee watching the sunrise. We were so upset at this point and went to go checkout. We told the front desk staff about everything and they actually seemed sincerely upset and apologetic on our behalf. They offered us a one night free stay coupon that never expires which we appreciated. Overall, our experience was awful but the staff in the morning at checkout really attempted to make up for it which is what anyone can really do. We will definitely follow up on our next visit and hopefully we can increase our rating. read more

This has been an amazing place to stay. There is 3 of us ladies that are using this weekend foe some much needed girks time. It's only 33km from banff and literally 5 mins from Canmore. Yet because you are not in town you spend the time visiting instead of shopping. Very clean. Very big condo style room. And super friendly staff:) read more

How many stars is this hotel? It's not a 4 star hotel as they claim. I've stayed at 4 & 5 star hotels around the world and I've never had to clean my own room. But maybe at Clique Hotels, especially Copperstone at Dead Man's Flats near Canmore, AB, is different. Today we came back, after a long day, to find out that our room had not been cleaned. No one made our beds, cleaned our tub or bathroom, replaced our dirty towels, or took out our garbage. When we called to complain the front desk essentially said "that they couldn't do anything because they didn't have the staff". After some other daft excuses on their part, I asked that they bring me some Comet cleaner and I would clean my own tub. Then after waiting about 2 hours, my husband went down to the front desk to find out that they weren't going to even give us any cleaners. They were too busy at 9:00 pm at night! This I paid $350 a night for? What a joke. I don't need to pay $350 a night for front desk staff to act like I'm outrageously ridiculous when I want my room cleaned AND I don't need their snotty attitudes either. The other thing that is gross here, is that the tub doesn't drain until after a long, long time, so when you are showering, all this scum and crud from all the other travelers who have stayed here lingers on and on - on my feet to be exact (oh, my, I wonder, did they do a good job of cleaning their own tubs or am I being affected by their germs too?). The bad part for us (other than the obvious lack of service here) is that we PREPAID over $700 for 2 nights here, so they really don't care if they take care of us or not. Maybe cleaning staff checks to see who is prepaying and then they just don't bother to clean their rooms, because there are no repercussions for them. None of the staff seem to care how the hotel is run and we've yet to get a chance to talk to management about it. But one thing is for sure. I'm not coming back here and I'll be sure to tell anyone who asks me about this hotel chain, exactly what happened to me and how the staff took care of it. I run a business too. This is not how you treat people who pay for your livelihood. Not such a nice way to end our holiday week. I would put less than 1 star but that's not possible. read more

Rooms are pretty nice, but they're not in a really nice spot. They don't say that they're behind an esso. Our VIP package had things we probably could've got for free. They're also very unorganized and didn't tell us how to get into the parkade or where to park. The card reader on the parkade is on the left side of a seemingly two lane ramp so be prepared for that. We requested a mountain view and were given a room facing the road. It's nice, just probably not worth the money. read more

When we first arrived we were disappointed to see the town was very small with only a gas station. The house keeping was terrible and every time we called to ask for extra towels or a blanket they would say we'll be there and never show up. House keeping only showed up once out of our 4 night stayed. The wifi was terrible. The room didn't look to have been cleaned in awhile, our windows were dirty and dust was everywhere. I would not stay here again because of the location and the terrible house keeping service. read more
