We stayed here in February 2026 and booked two 2-bedroom suites. Overall, we had a decent experience with some great amenities, along with a few areas that could use improvement. The suites themselves were clean, cozy, and equipped with the typical amenities you would expect from a timeshare. Each unit had a working mini kitchen with a microwave and stove/oven, along with appliances such as a toaster and coffeemaker. Utensils, kitchenware, and bakeware were all provided, which made it easy to prepare meals. The layout worked well for our group -- each suite had one king-sized bed, one queen-sized bed, and a queen-sized sleeper sofa. Everything was functional and comfortable. The best part of our stay was definitely the amenities. We loved having both an indoor and outdoor hot tub. The outdoor hot tub was very popular in the evenings and was usually busy when we wanted to use it, but fortunately the indoor hot tub was available and just as enjoyable. A great surprise was the dry sauna located near the indoor hot tub. We took advantage of both daily after long days exploring Banff -- especially appreciated since temperatures during our stay ranged from -13°F to 11°F. The pool is mostly outdoors with a small indoor section that connects to it. It is slightly heated, but not very warm. Given the extremely cold February weather, it would have been much more enjoyable if the water temperature had been warmer. The location is convenient, especially being close to the Canmore area. However, the property overall feels dated and could use general updating. The hallways are quite dim and would benefit from improved lighting. There were also some frustrations with the check-in process and communication that affected our first impression. Overall, while there are areas that could be improved, we really made the most of the hot tubs and sauna -- those amenities were definitely the highlight of our winter stay. read more

This hotel was literally the most mismanaged and disgusting place I've ever stayed in my entire life. We checked in on April 25, 2025 and checked out on May 2, 2025. The air filter on the ceiling was absolutely filthy. It was practically black compared to a fresh filter. The room was very hot, and when we complained about it, we were told that the air conditioning was DISABLED and that we should just "open the window a little bit" if it's hot. The wifi prices were absolutely insane: $49.95 USD (yes, USD) for 3 devices for 10 days. The hotel website mentions air-conditioned rooms and free-wifi. The stove was visibly dirty, and when this was mentioned to the front desk, they claimed they were just marks. The tourist map they provided was from September 2005. One of the plug-ins didn't even work properly; a typical phone charger wouldn't stay plugged in. This is a fire hazard. The curtains were bunched up and tangled. This is something they could have fixed in literally a minute; they just chose not to. The sheets on both the pull-out bed and the main bed in the bedroom had very visible stains on them. They were visible even in poor lighting. The mattress itself had a big stain on it too. When we complained to the front desk, the lady claimed that there's no housekeeping on site at night (at a "resort") and that the hotel was fully booked. The parking lot was half-empty throughout our entire stay, not to mention rooms were easily available to book online. She also claimed that they only had ONE mattress pad left, indicating that either the hotel is woefully unprepared or that so many other guests complained that the supply was depleted. She also didn't seem to know what a mattress pad was, which is basic knowledge in hospitality. We did get "fresh" bedding, which ended up having long black hairs in it. These hairs were EVERYWHERE, by the way. We kept finding them around the room and on our persons throughout our entire stay. The next day, it was freezing cold when we woke up. Housekeeping finally came to clean the room. The new bedding had two massive and clearly visible stains on it. We had to complain AGAIN. They then brought the new bedding and had us inspect it and shine flashlights on it to make sure it wasn't stained. They said that they were "trying [their] best" and that it was "difficult." That's funny, because places like Super 8 and Motel 6 are able to do it. We also had to go down to the front desk and get the sheets ourselves every time; they wouldn't bring them up. We also had to make the beds ourselves every time. They also cleaned the "marks" on the stove quite easily. There were also numerous other issues that weren't even worth mentioning considering how disgusting the bedding was. There were noticeable smudges and fingerprints on the mirror that were never cleaned despite housekeeping having cleaned our room twice during our stay. The microwave had duct tape on the top of it. The freezer was noticeably dirty on the inside. When I opened the dishwasher, I was struck by a VERY STRONG and PUTRID odour of old food, and I have a terrible sense of smell. Needless to say, we didn't use the dishes in the kitchen that were provided. The windowsill was also noticeably dirty. The bedroom door had a lock on it, but the bathroom door didn't, which was quite baffling. We didn't even bother checking out the pool and hot tub. The room was so filthy that we didn't trust it for a second. There were notices in the elevator saying that the pool was "still cooler than usual," and they were there for our entire trip. The stairs from the lower parking lot to the front of the hotel were sketchy. The surfaces were quite uneven, presenting a tripping hazard. One day, "caution" signs were suddenly put up by the stairs. These were soon replaced with more permanent "watch your step" signs, and they didn't even bother to take the plastic off. The sudden appearance of the signs definitely raised numerous questions. On the bright side, the staff wasn't rude. But still, we will definitely NEVER be staying here again. read more

In the interest of full disclosure, WorldMark is a membership timeshare, and I have been an owner for decades. So I am naturally biased. I am also naturally inclined to complain incessantly when something isn't right. Which is certainly not the case here at World Mark Canmore-Banff. I reserved two one-bedrooms for myself and family, and found them clean, well-stocked, in good order, and comfortable. The Staff were friendly, accommodating, and available. There is plenty of available parking. The resort is well positioned in Canmore to allow easy access to the town and surrounding attractions. Since becoming an owner, I've been traveling to many places to check out what my ownership has to offer. This location has been among my favorites. One of the things that you don't have to worry about are those pesky invitations to an owner update/presentation/sales-pitch! The check-in process was friendly and quick. I was in my room in no time. The views surrounding this place were awesome, almost begging you to go for a quick hike. Parking was adequate, but if you stay out late, you might not get a spot close-by. The studio room that I got was very spacious. Everything was clean and very presentable upon arrival. The kitchen was nice to have as an option to save some money. It's about a 30 min drive over to Banff and an hour over to Lake Louise. Those were the two places that I visited during my short stay. Wanted to stay here for sometime but booking is difficult. Booked a year out and finally got to visit. Absolutely beautiful area and hiking trails are everywhere. Canmore is beautiful but being over developed like many places. Everything that people will find attractive to the area is being lost because of development. All of the homes that give character are being torn down for cookie cutter aspen duplexes. That being said you can still get away out on the trails and find the beauty that makes Banff area worth the wait getting there. Going West toward Banff you enter the national park and have to pay 21.00 per day just to go to lunch in Banff, makes Canmore more attractive but not sure what it will be like in a few years as more homes and shopping centers are built. Wildlife is everywhere and easy to view. As for the Worldmark, very friendly and helpful staff, clean rooms. This was not built as a Worldmark so only common grilling area and no fireplace in the room. The room was by far the smallest room we have been in among the Worldmark properties. Living room was uncomfortable for 6 people, knees touching across seating and chairs behind the TV. Bedroom had to turn sideways to pass the foot of the bed and TV stand. No room on the vanity. All that said it is a beautiful place! read more

In my 50+ years of traveling, I have never stayed in condo-type accommodations as nicely provisioned as our studio condo at WorldMark Canmore-Banff booked through Wyndham Extra Holidays. First, it was in a beautiful location just minutes away from the lively town center of Canmore. The reception area was spacious, nothing fancy, but pleasant, looking onto a very nice patio, green grass and tall trees. The staff was welcoming and helpful. We had asked for a top floor room with a view and had a one looking into the mountains. Our clean and attractive studio was L-shaped with living/dining/kitchen area in one section and bedroom/bath in the other. The kitchen was equipped with everything you'd need to prepare a meal for 4 - kitchen linens, coffeemaker, dishes, flatware, glasses, blender, small selection of spices, salt/pepper, coffee/accompaniments, paper towels, knives, cutting board, etc. - and these were not a mishmash of someone's discards, but all like new. It had a full fridge/freezer, ceramic stovetop, microwave/convection, sink, and a dishwasher so you didn't have to even wash dishes. The living area had a sofa, armchair, occasional tables, TV/DVD, and radio. The queen bed was comfortable with nice linens and the extra pillows requested. The bathroom, though small, had a hairdryer and beach towels to use at the pool/hot tub/dry sauna, as well as a laundry basket and detergent to use in their free guest laundry. In the reception areas were a selection of DVDs to rent, along with books and jigsaw puzzles. On the patio were 6 nice grills for guest use and every night the guests did just that. On the lower patio were several picnic tables so you could eat outside and enjoy the beautiful surroundings. Every night they posted 2 movies they were showing in their recreation area, which also had a pool table and 2 smaller rooms. The indoor pool area had a hot tub, along with changing and showering areas and a dry sauna, along with access to a swim-thru to the outdoor pool. A second hot tub was also outside. Our fellow guests were a pleasant mix of families, groups of friends, couples like us, all different ages - everyone seemed to be enjoying themselves. Towards sundown, which is very late this time of year, across the parking lot, we saw 6 female elks, with at least 1 baby off a bit further. This is a very nicely done facility with everything in good working order and was the perfect base for our visit to Banff. read more

Good location in a quite area. It's a vacation property and not a hotel, the receptionist made it very clear on the first day I.e. They don't do housekeeping, if you want the towels changed you bring them down to reception and they give you fresh ones. And, surprisingly we didn't mind that at all, we loved the homely feel it has, with your own kitchen and all. The resort has a very small very basic fitness room. One salt water outdoor pool and two chlorine water hot tubs- indoor and outdoor. They have a movie night every day at 7 and 9 in the lounge. Have Barbecues accessible to hotel guests 24/7. Both indoor and outdoor parking is available and the closest market is Canmore downtown i.e. a 10 minute drive. The town is beautiful and you can walk from one end to the other end of town - something I loved! We had a wonderful time, would go again. read more

We've stayed here twice, and will be staying here in the fall! This Worldmark is a gem, while the main knock on it is most units dont have a oven, all the rooms we've been to are 5 star resort. This Worldmark is just on the city limits, and has spectacular views of the area, and close to the where they had the Winter Olympics. I cant wait to comeback here. read more

First of all its in not in town but it's quick bus ride or taxi ( call Three Sisters Taxi they are the best & have cars especially for the snowy conditions) The staff at Worldmark are the best ! Cheerful & helpful & very knowledgeable about local amenities. Of course the rooms were the usual high standard of Worldmark. Clean comfortable & fully stocked kitchen. Every day I enjoyed the outdoor heated pool & spa . The view from my room was just beautiful. I missed Movie night because I was busy but every night they show 2 movies downstairs. Our group of four stayed here for 5 nights in a 2-bedroom suite this past January. The Worldmark has a great location (close to Nordic Centre, Canmore downtown, highway to Banff/Lake Louise) and the general ambiance of the hotel is nice. This was not a 5-star experience for two simple reasons - first, the heat in our room was almost IMPOSSIBLE to bring down, which left us resorting to cracked windows to air it out. Not only is this a huge waste of energy, but also when it's as cold as -10 outside cracked windows also quickly become a pain! Secondly, I found the hot tubs to be unacceptable for cleanliness, which was a huge bummer after being in the snow for days in a row and wanting to simply relax but being unable to. We booked Worldmark Canmore-Banff in part because of its' high ratings. It is one of the highest rated Worldmark properties. It is well maintained. It has a beautiful lobby, nice workout room, though small, a very nice pool area with a hot tub. But, I must admit for four people, the two bedroom suite was VERY small. In our bedroom, the "master" the door cleared the bed by one inch. The vanity in the master bathroom was too small to put any toiletries on it. Our bedroom had a nice balcony which overlook NOTHING but a fence and some picnic tables. The living room and the other bedroom didn't have a balcony at all. This disappointed our guests greatly. This was in contrast to Banff Gate Mountain Resort (separate review) that we left WM for after 3 days. A few days after being in cramp quarters, the group who had traveled together five years earlier, was eager to move to the other resort which had a great deal more space, but also more magic (read that review). Positives: WM is located at the top of the hill from downtown. If you desire to walk to town, this is a great resort for you. If you like more upscale facilities this is the resort for you. If you do not really care about having a scenic view, then this resort is ok. (Views for room on the front see the mountains. Rooms on the back of the resort have really no view at all). If your guests not staying in the master bedroom and do not mind not having a balcony, this is the resort for you. I believe that most people that come to WM Canmore-Banff would find this resort more than acceptable. It is just we had experienced the other first, five years earlier. We had seen the great mountain views and the animals on property there. WE had enjoyed the large balcony/deck. So for us, this WM was disappointing. Having said that, the staff at WM were excellent. When I talked with them about my disappointment, they said the smallness of the units is the number one complaint with the place. And it is an uncommon complaint for Worldmark Resorts because WM didn't build this one but rather bought it from another chain. read more

The resort is about 2 miles from downtown Canmore, which has numerous restaurants and shops. BanfF is a 15-20 min drive from the resort, but it isn't too far away. We took a nice tour with a company called "Brewster", so we didn't miss any nearby attractions. The resort is a bit dated, but the room was clean, except for black spots on a white pillowcase. Also, I was surprised to see the back lawn of the resort hadn't been mowed in ages. The ladies at the front desk were very cordial and helpful. However, I once heard the phone ring for a long time, and another day I saw a guest waiting for someone to come to help her at the front desk. I think only one person works each shift, so that may be the cause of the short delays. If you are expecting a very high end resort , look elsewhere. If you are looking for a comfortable room, a friendly front desk staff, and a quiet location, this place is for you. read more

It is located just a little ways from the actual downtown of Canmore and only about 20 minutes away from Banff. The WorldMark accommodations are very adequate...but a little bit on the outdated end of the spectrum. They do have some underground parking, which was really nice since the temperature was a blistering -36C. However, if you return after skiing or dinner the underground parking is likely full and you'll have to park outside in the elements... read more
