Stayed here from 6/13-6/16. In town for the Banff half and 10K. I'm SO glad I chose this hotel! Logistically it was perfect for the race bc i could just walk to Central Park where the race starts. Thought about blowing my whole budget and staying at the Fairmont, but so glad I didn't bc logistically the Moose is a way better location. It's in the heart of Banff Ave and I really enjoyed being able to walk to everything at my doorstep. The rooms were spacious (felt like little apartments) w a living room and kitchenette also. Best part was they also have a spa! Meadow spa was so accommodating and pleasant to book treatments with. Ask for Leonardo for your massages. He was so good I had a massage every day I was there after my tiring days of ruining/hiking. He's the best! Also enjoyed the hot tub w the nice views. I would definitely stay here again next time I'm in town!

Why 4 stars? Because our experience here was really enjoyable. --- --- --- Not that we will be coming to Banff on any kind of regular basis, but it would feel weird to come back here and not stay at this hotel. We actually chose it because of the great reviews, and the fact that we had a golden retriever named Moose who went to puppy heaven last year, so there was an extra sentimental driver at play here. The location is pretty prime. We were tempted to stay at the Fairmont, but while the Fairmont is amazing to look at, it's a substantial walk to get into Downtown Banff. We were very happy with our decision. My only real complaint are the pillows. They are soft and lumpy. I understand pillows are very personal to everyone's own preferences, but my preferences are firmly in the firm pillow camp. The only silver lining to the end of a Banff vacation is to return home to your own bed (and pillows). The bed itself was great. The shower was pretty awesome. The heated pools and sauna on the fourth floor were amazing. There was also a water refill station up there, which we took advantage of many times. We had to move rooms for a reason that's not important. But the bottom line is that the employees who helped us with that transition could not have been more amazing. And the second room ended up being a suite, which we didn't need, but it was super nice. It even included a fireplace, which we also didn't need, but it was nice to look at. Parking under the building was very easy, and most importantly, free. To cap off the experience, we purchased a plush Moose for our son and to help cherish the memory of our beloved pup.

    Outside the hotel balcony

Charming, lodge with a Swiss feel. Fireplace inviting in the lobby. Our suite room on the roof was perfect for the birthday getaway. Feels like your own little cabin with views of the incredible jagged peaks around the town. You can walk conveniently in town and the shuttle to ski areas is next door. Our room was amazingly quiet and cozy. Underground parking. Love Banff and this hotel. Skiing was super!

Overall a great hotel located very close to downtown area! Was really easy to walk to restaurants and shops. There's a grocery store on the block next to the hotel too. Staff were very welcoming and helpful. One con though - would definitely clean the inside of the hot water kettle prior to using (or don't use at all)...

I'm giving five stars for excellent service I got from Ella who worked at the front desk! When the lobby was quiet with no one else in line to check in, she spent a lot of time helping me plan my days and my hikes. My other favorite part of this hotel was the hot tubs and fire pit on the roof deck. I was not super impressed with the hotel restaurant, I'd recommend going elsewhere for dinner in town.

    Roof top

Great location off of Banff Ave and easy access from back streets. Can park rental car there. Recommend getting a suite to have space and kitchenette. Best time for rooftop hot tubs is early morning but didn't get too crowded. Nice pool and gym too.

So he drove us into Banff NP. We stopped at Lake Louise, Johnston Canyon, Vermillion Lakes, the cascade falls, and then we began driving to the Fairmont Banff Springs Hotel. What an absolutely beautiful hotel in one of Nature's most breathtaking masterpieces. The beautiful earth-toned cream colored hotel climbs from the lower mountain side and stands beautifully amongst the tall pines surrounding it. We made our way to the Vermillion Bar, where are post worked back in his college days, and were greeted by a super sweet server, Ayala, who lit up whenever she laughed and smiled with you. We enjoyed cocktails, beef, tartare, veggie Credit, charred, avocado, and a unique presentation of hot wings I've never had before - the actual wing that has two bones in it was pre-cut down the middle so you were served the 2 halves as their own individual wing. Great flavors and it was very unique and enjoyable. All of it was delicious and undeniably yummy, and fairly priced for such an elegant location. We were expecting a much higher price point and were delightfully surprised to see that even though it is a luxury location, it was not price gouging or ridiculously inflated that one often finds in so many other locations that are "elegant or nice". If you have the opportunity to treat yourself to a very beautiful sunset under the majestic Mount Rundle, and want to enjoy a modern setting in a historic landmark, this is absolutely a visit you must make while in Banff National Park. Thank you Ayala for treating us so well, and sharing your sweet Australian journey with us. Chris, David, Trisha, and Keith

I was on my way to the Banff Gondola when I stopped here. The hot springs are also located nearby. The original hotel opened in 1888 and has gone through several major renovations and expansions since then. Even if you are not staying here, you have to check this place out. I mostly walked around the outside of the hotel and in the main lobby. Fairmont Banff Springs has two main accommodation areas - the Gatehouse and the historic Main Building. It has a Châteauesque design to it. I love how the hotel stands out within the surrounding Valley. I could even see it from Sulphur Mountain when I rode the gondola to the top. The Banff Springs Hotel has over seven hundred guest rooms and several event spaces. This hotel is worth seeing in person for its size and stunning architecture if you are in the area.

They also have a sauna outside too. They offer free S'mores every day for happy hour, and supplies so you can roast your marshmallows by the fire pit outside. Lots of seating outside and I really enjoyed sitting outside and reading. They also offer board games to play and have a lot of indoor and outdoor seating, so many options of where you can be. They have a full bar with a nice selection. Delicious happy hour wine deals! I love their red wines. The food is really good here too. They have a really nice breakfast buffet and it's included with your room. Pancakes, eggs, sausage, yogurt, juices, pastries, and more. The bar serves snacks and other food throughout the day and evening. I really enjoyed their charcuterie board. So fresh and delicious. Our room/suite was very spacious. Two queen beds and a living room area with a sofa and fire place. The beds were pretty comfortable but not amazing. We had a microwave and refrigerator, and I loved the espresso machine. We also had a dining table. The bathroom had lovely shampoo, conditioner, and body wash from a local company. My only suggestion is that I wish we had more storage options to unpack our clothes. There were some hangers to hang a few items and there was 1 drawer in the nightstand. I wish we had a dresser. Excellent and friendly staff. I really enjoyed the vibe of this place. I would definitely stay here again.

Shuttle service to/from downtown was a life saver. Hiking and biking amenities seemed good but we did not participate. Removed from downtown which made it a bit more cozy. We really did like this aspect of the hotel . Cons: a bit dated and in need of some upgrades. Our room was small. Okay for a couple of days but would suggest a room upgrade if staying more than a couple of nights. I like hotels to have some level of market where bottled water, snacks, etc., can be purchased. Juniper did have some juice drinks and protein'ish bars available yet my personal preference is for more options. All in all, a great place to stay, with top notch views and super service. I would certainly recommend you consider Juniper for your upcoming stay.
