a cheese pizza in a box

We were picking up takeout from one of the restaurants next door and the smell coming from Hickory Pizzeria was just so alluring. We even witnessed another person picking up takeout telling his friend "do you smell how good the pizza is?" We came back the next day to try the pizza and a chicken parm sandwich and both were very good. Note: it's located in the shopping center with the ShopRite, but on the lower level

Got a bunch of things delivered. Pictures are after they have been reheated in the oven (can't be too careful these days with covid) Potato pizza: if you like potato skins, this is the pizza to order. It's really good and definitely a repeat order. Philly cheese steak: this is why I was compelled to post this review. I got this cause I was craving a Philly cheese steak. I had seen the review from two years ago where someone complained their cheese steak was all bread and very little meat so it had me concerned but was still willing to give them a shot as I wanted a cheese steak even if it was going to be bad. Not sure if things have changed since but I'm happy to report the bread to meat ratio has flipped from that other reviewer. A lot more meat vs bread. Even more than what you'd typically get in Philly. I'd say their meat treatment is similar to Steve's in Philly but a lot more of it. If you're wondering why the cheese isn't yellow, it's because I got it with provolone wit onions (the classic Philly cheese). I feel they added butter inside the bread which is a departure from a classic Philly but I'm not mad at it. It's probably the best Philly cheese steak I've had outside of Philly besides the NY outposts of sister Philly restaurants (and I've had it in a lot of different places/states). Usually it ends up with "never again" but with Hickory's, it's a "definitely again". It ain't a true Philly but definitely tasty. Thanks guys!!

Crispy fried chicken tenders w/ honey mustard! Delish :)

The food here is good and the prices are moderate. My coworkers ordered pizza and they said it was delicious. The chicken tenders I ordered were tasty. We placed an order for delivery (to Morristown) and it came in less than 30 minutes. This was our first time ordering from this place but it won't be our last.

Pizza is fantastic thin crust. Not very friendly people. Prices are great. Not a very clean kitchen, but good enough.

Arminio's has become something of a staple in our family's wheelhouse of easy meals. Every pie…read morewe've ordered from this Chatham pizzeria has either been right on or proximal to those elusive perfect proportions of sauce, crust, and cheese. As such, it's no surprise that every time I've gone to either order or pick up a slice, the phone is ringing off the hook while a few folks are waiting for their meals. When things get that busy, it's hard to offer the friendliest service, but I certainly appreciate how efficiently the folks behind the counter work. Recently, we took a chance on the grandma pies, and WOW. These are arguably even better than the conventionally circular pies, with a square and slightly thicker crust that are baked in pans and have a significant crunch that we didn't know we needed. If you've only been ordering their regular pies, I'd highly recommend giving these a try. There's no parking lot and a limited amount of street parking available out front, so trying to find a spot for your car can be tough, especially around mealtimes. But if you're just dipping in and out of the restaurant for a takeout order, there's a strip of no parking spots right around the corner where folks seem to leave their cars for a quick second while grabbing their pizza boxes.

They're always polite, attentive and seem to be pretty damn happy to be working there. For my review, I see no reason to wax poetic on their pizza because like the other thousand or so reviewers, it's excellent. And honestly, does anyone actually give a shit what Dave Portnoy thinks? I've been there three times in the past month and it's amazing. But let's forget the pizza and talk about their Caesar salad which is literally the best I've ever had and I've had them all over the place. Who knew? The title of best should rightfully belong to some Michelin Starred eatery in Manhattan but in this case it's at a pizza joint in Chatham, NJ that really can't be beat. Kudos.

They had mostly pizzas (NY And Detroit style) but had other options to choose from such as a few salads and Italian classics. The service was appreciated while the food came out promptly. To start the meal, the Italian chopped salad for two ($19) was ordered. It had iceberg and romaine lettuce, tomatoes, cucumber, red onions, chickpeas, fresh mozzarella, salami, grated cheese, and a red wine vinaigrette. This was large with plenty of everything incorporated. It appeared very fresh and I liked how small everything was cut. The homemade vinaigrette was ideal too. Two pizzas were tried. We had the NY style of the shallots and long hots ($26) and the Detroit style of hot honey, pepperoni and ricotta ($24). The NY style had a thin crust with a very nice texture from the sourdough crust. There was not a ton of flavor there, but the texture made up for it. I really enjoyed the shallot and hot pepper combination. The tomato sauce was pleasant with just enough cheese present. The hot honey, pepperoni, and ricotta had a lot going on to my surprise. The pizza as a whole was heavy with the ideal crunch on the crust. There was a ton of pepperoni present, and the best part was the dollop of ricotta combined with the warm aspects. Will I go back? I would.

Sort of a light, fluffy dough, but crispy? Not thick like a focaccia or heavy like Sicilian, but also, not unlike those two? It's not New York Style. My sister-in-law loves to get their salad with grilled chicken. They give you a lot of chicken (this is takeout, we do both). It's nicely grilled and seasoned. I got the linguini Alfredo because they have that big wheel of cheese, and I think they make it in the wheel? Again, this was takeout. Not my favorite thing I've ordered there. But again, it's a pizza place, get pizza. The staff is really nice. I mean it's young people (I'm very old), like college age, which in my opinion can be hit or miss. You know they like to make those TikTok dances. That's all they care about. But these kids are uniformly friendly and customer-focused. Nice kids. And the place is cute inside.

I asked if they had more cheese coming out and they showed me the full tray of cheese and said they had some. I asked for a fresh slice but instead they went for the lone dried one under the glass. When I asked if I could get a fresh slice another employee came up to me and said I couldn't and that the batch of pies on the racks behind all came out at the same time a while ago. Huh? I asked again if I could simply get a fresh one from the trays behind him and was told no. Weird flex but okay -wow. I said no thanks and simply went to pay for a water bottle for my son. The manager asked if he was ringing me up for a water and a slice to which I replied "No they refused to serve me a fresh slice"- thinking he would have a focus on customer service and even remedy this. Nope. Just replied with "So just the water then?" Disappointing. There was no line, no rush. Any decent slice shop will proactively tell you to wait a few min for a fresh pie but this place didn't seem to care even when asked. Sadly, I have been here before and enjoyed the slices but we won't be returning any more. Save your money for a place that actually values customers.

There was a significant amount of bread "hangage" because of the small size of the cutlet. Though it would've been nice to have the sauce to dip the extra bread in. Pasta salad is great! The veggies are still Al dente and the vinaigrette that it's tossed in is lovely. I ordered pickup and drove around the street a few times looking for "Antico Arturo" and didn't see it. I wasted 15 minutes of my life looking for it, calling the place in Red Bank to see if my order was being made down there, then going back and walking into La Pastaria to ask if they sell under the name Antico Arturo. (It's not like there's anything on the sign of door or windows indicating if you ordered Antico Arturo that you've come to the right place.) The lady told me yes. I asked if they were changing the name of the store. She told me no. I asked why they sell under the other name. "We just do." Oh, cool. Anyway the food is edible but not much more than that. Pizza tasted fairly close to high school pizza. It is nothing like the picture you see on the Antico Arturo website. I guess that's the one you get in Red Bank. Also they charge $21 for it and this pizza was like a small personal pizza size, maybe 12 inches. The picture online looks like a big nice pizza. It's completely false advertising. I don't know how this place gets away with it.
