Vodka Detroit. Don't worry, it's not too spicy.
    Justine C.

What can I say aside from this is the best pizza in NJ. Period. There is no crust like the soft, bouncy yet crispy, airy sourdough that the Bucky's team has NAILED. Went last night and enjoyed every single bite. The staff was young and CRANKING through orders; and the owner was out front making a waitlist for tables. You can sense the enthusiasm and pride in everyone there. Really set the stage for a great meal. Cannot say enough good things. (Looking at you, Owner... I'm so glad you followed your dream. Thank you for creating my new fave piz' spot.) A few standouts: - If you like white pie, there's no comparable. Just the best bite I think I've ever had. I cannot wait to go back for this alone. - Hot honey pepp is something my husband tris everywhere, and he loved this one. Very generous amount of pepperoni and the whipped ricotta is outstanding. - Not shown but still delicious, the meatball app. Comes with 3 and a side of whipped ricotta. I want to bathe in this whipped ricotta.

My second time trying Detroit pizza (neither time in Detroit). While I do not like this style as much as other styles of pizza (too much bread), I did still enjoy the pizza overall. The best thing was the crust, so its good that they cut each of the 6 slices to have at least some crust. Quite cheesey. Also there were a generous amount of toppings... for instance my pepp pizza was loaded with pepperoni. Pizza is a little expensive for the size versus other pizza spots, but not unreasonably so. I ordered ahead (online) the night before, and the pizza was ready a little before the estimated time. The parking lot was quite busy, but there were some spots available (weekday lunch).

The best sourdough pizza in NJ by a landslide. The staff is insanely sweet and the relatively small menu is honestly just so nice. That's how you know. They use good quality fresh ingredients and everything is actually made with love and care. They have sourdough everything there and you can taste it in the pizza crust. it was a life-changing slice for me that grandma pie. It's honestly the best spot to sit down, but you could take it to go to and please please please if you go there get a chocolate chip cookie it's one of the best I've ever had.

As someone from Michigan who grew up with Detroit style pizza, Bucky's does a phenomenal job. Their Detroit pies are light and airy from the sourdough crust with the perfect crispy edges and fresh ingredients. We got a vodka sausage pie, red sauce with sausage, pepperoni hot honey ricotta pie and their calzone. DON'T SLEEP ON THE CALZONE. It's a soft pillowy pocket filled with garlic confit and ricotta, which is perfect for garlic lovers. We got takeout and the pizzas kept their crisp by the time we ate them. I can't wait to come back here!

Sausage and red onion. Definitely one of the top 5 slices I've ever had, delicious. Thanks Dom!

Bucky's is a basic pizza joint. They serve. . . Pizza. It's the best crust, sauce and toppings around, mind you. And the Caesar salad is epic. The chocolate chip cookies are to die for. The Detroit pizza is airy, savory, and a cheesy wonder. It's comfortable in a very basic way. The servers are cheerful and enthusiastic. The pizza is the thing: It's world class.

Loved this cute pizza place in a quaint town of Chatham! We went in to dine in at this place to enjoy the fresh, hot, yummy pizza right from the oven. We started off with garlic knots and they were tasted super fresh along with that red sauce just hitting the spot on a Fall lunch day. We ordered a NY style pizza pie and opted for half cheese and half mushroom. Absolutely loved it. I like that they had put small sized mushroom and they were from some local farm, which I greatly appreciated! The service was super quick and the crew is amazing!

The Detroit-style pies are incredible: soft, consistent dough interior; salty and delectable frico on the edges; olive oil on the bottom for a crunchy, fried crust. I had a mushroom and red onion pie for lunch and it was all I could do not to eat it all. If only they were nearer my house... the Detroit pies are great alternatives for when I'm tired of NJ-style pizza. The store inside has stool seating. Seeing the baked desserts for sale in there, high-end versions of Domino's desserts, brought a huge smile to my face. When I showed at 1:15p on a Sunday it was basically empty. I preordered the night before through their website.

I love this pizza place there's parking they're known for their sourdough pizza and I love it. Their menu seed oil free. Everything is homemade and freshly serve. The service is great. The atmosphere is amazing their BYOB and it just tastes like good. Delicious food.

Great food! Our server was really quick and nice. We even got a Detroit style pie to go :) there is seating in the back and a little strip bar seating in the front for a slice or for waiting for take out. Amazing pie. If you're looking for a tomato pie spot in jersey, definitely go here. This was my boyfriend and I's first time trying sourdough pie. Delicious! Will be back for more.

Bucky's Pizza lives up to the hype! Simply put: real good pizza made by real great people. Be sure to add this local spot to your 2026 "must try" list for pizza! Their sourdough pies were all outstanding. Some of the best pizza we've ever had. The restaurant is also seed oil free, so even after eating a bunch of pizza, we still felt great afterwards. The restaurant has a homey feel and everyone there was super nice and helpful. Check out our full visit here: https://www.instagram.com/reel/DTNktVvjQ-7/?igsh=MXM0cWp2Zjh4YXJ6NA==

Bucky's Pizza is pretty gosh darn good. My five year old declared the plain pie to be the "best pizza he's ever had" and trust me, the kid knows his plain pies. The specialty pizzas are thick and doughy, which is different from what you normally find in NJ. The flavors are delicious. I recommend going in a group so you can share a few different flavors. I kept my rating at a 4 because the cost was high (the speciality pies are, according to our waiter, a single for serving). The ambience is very casual with self seating.... Not a bad thing but we did have to flag down our waiter at the end of the night.

So, read all of the other reviews and ordered really early, as I was worried about availability and timing! We chose all Detroit styles... Cacio e Pepe with mushrooms, the hot honey pepperoni, and regular, as well as a Caesar salad.I guess bc it was a holiday weekend of summer, that I arrived and pizzas were ready to go. Friendly staff was raring to go, sitting waiting for orders. Location was small amount of seating in strip mall, formerly housing the Chatham bakery years ago. Fav pizzas were hot honey pepperoni and cacio e Pepe with mushrooms. Both were stunning. Regular Detroit was good but definitely lacked cheese. Caesar salad was fresh. Will definitely try their regular pies as well next time. Great new pizza spot.

cacio e pepe and plain detroit style pizzas, definitely worth it!

As such, it's no surprise that every time I've gone to either order or pick up a slice, the phone is ringing off the hook while a few folks are waiting for their meals. When things get that busy, it's hard to offer the friendliest service, but I certainly appreciate how efficiently the folks behind the counter work. Recently, we took a chance on the grandma pies, and WOW. These are arguably even better than the conventionally circular pies, with a square and slightly thicker crust that are baked in pans and have a significant crunch that we didn't know we needed. If you've only been ordering their regular pies, I'd highly recommend giving these a try. There's no parking lot and a limited amount of street parking available out front, so trying to find a spot for your car can be tough, especially around mealtimes. But if you're just dipping in and out of the restaurant for a takeout order, there's a strip of no parking spots right around the corner where folks seem to leave their cars for a quick second while grabbing their pizza boxes.

I ordered pickup and drove around the street a few times looking for "Antico Arturo" and didn't see it. I wasted 15 minutes of my life looking for it, calling the place in Red Bank to see if my order was being made down there, then going back and walking into La Pastaria to ask if they sell under the name Antico Arturo. (It's not like there's anything on the sign of door or windows indicating if you ordered Antico Arturo that you've come to the right place.) The lady told me yes. I asked if they were changing the name of the store. She told me no. I asked why they sell under the other name. "We just do." Oh, cool. Anyway the food is edible but not much more than that. Pizza tasted fairly close to high school pizza. It is nothing like the picture you see on the Antico Arturo website. I guess that's the one you get in Red Bank. Also they charge $21 for it and this pizza was like a small personal pizza size, maybe 12 inches. The picture online looks like a big nice pizza. It's completely false advertising. He's actually gotten some bit parts in independent films-- a Mafia wanna-be, a low-level thug, a Mafia enforcer, a bodyguard to the Mafia Don. I've told him that when he gets the part of Seamus McGonigle, mystical poet and creator of whimsical artwork, then he'll know for sure that he's finally "made it" as an actor. Anyway...I digress...sorry...). I rode along as a passenger recently to visit his father in a nearby care facility (a major family issue, obviously, but I talked with his father at the place, and... although he seemed physically frail...we discussed old movies and he still seemed pretty sharp mentally, thank God!) and, afterwards, my friend was hungry, as was I. We weren't all that familiar with restaurants in the area, but he caught sight of Zio Gino in a tiny mall off of Shunpike Rd. and suggested that we try it out. I was agreeable, being both tired and hungry (I had to work the next day and wanted to make as early a night of it as possible). There was enough free parking in the lot fronting the mall, and the restaurant itself appears to be your standard neighborhood pizzeria. As much as I love pizza, I wasn't really in the mood for it. Thankfully, they offer a full-scale sit-down dinner menu. As I do in any Italian restaurant that's new to me, I ordered the Pasta Fagioli, and the lasagna. Service was pleasant, and efficient. Our orders were placed, and we were served with relative swiftness. I can't remember what my friend ordered, but I was served a moderately sized salad, and the soup in a large bowl. It was tasty and plentiful. The lasagna, too, was a large portion, and was tasty. Did it surpass the memory of my late mother's lasagna? No (I judge any lasagna I eat using the yardstick of that treasured memory), but I enjoyed it. Prices weren't cheap, but I can't think of any restaurants these days that serve plentiful portions of tasty food that charge "cheap" prices. Also...it is Chatham. If I have to register any complaint, it would be that the food could have been hotter (was that the result of microwave heating? Maybe. Probably.). I scarfed down everything on the plate and in the bowl, so obviously it wasn't a complaint of such gravity that I was forced to make an issue of it, but...it could have been served hotter. All in all, I'd recommend this restaurant; I'd like to return some day in the near future to try their pizza when I'm in more of a "pizza mood." And they also deliver and do catering.
