Needed a place to eat close to Woodland Ave and found this place. As soon as I walked in I noticed the A/C wasn't on or working but put that in my back pocket for now. They had several different pizzas out to choose from. I asked the guy behind the counter what one was and he couldn't tell me. Strike 2. So I ended up getting a baked ziti and plain slice. The baked ziti one seemed to have all the ziti near the crust like someone picked it up and it moved there. The taste was good but not great. The plain slice was also just ok.These two Slices were not spectacular. The ambiance was clean almost new or remodeled looking, except the ceiling tiles and vents should've been cleaned or replaced. I will not be back. It was too hot in there and the pizza wasn't so good that I would rave about it. read more

Great, no frills, family-owned Italian restaurant (that I've been going to since high school). Food is reliably good, with a good amount of classic options. Staff are friendly and you can count on delivery getting there when they say it will. They've been in Summit as long as I can remember and I'm hoping they'll be there in another 30 years. read more

They call this pizza?? The absolute worse pizza we've ever had. No flavor at all. I can only compare it to eating a cardboard. The staff unwelcoming. Would I eat at this place again if I'm in town visiting? Absolutely not! Save your money. read more

The cheese pizza was so good!!! My kid enjoyed it. I came a lil late but it was still warm as it was placed on the top of the oven. Great experience! read more

Came to Doria for a quick and easy plain slice. Unfortunately my experience was just so-so. Usually when I grab a plain slice I know I can be in and out in ten minutes. When it seemed like my slice was in the oven for nearly ten minutes I started to worry. I like my pizza hot but not super cooked and crunchy. When I finally got the slice it was piping hot. I needed to wait an extra five minutes to even pick it up... it was steaming. The slice was also extremely overcooked on the bottom (burnt and hard) and overly greasy. I don't think I'll be returning. read more

So I've been a big supporter of this place for quite some time but I can't help notice things that have changed in thr last few months. Pizza in the case? Old. Dry. Stale. Pizza by the slice? Four dollars for a single one topping g slice taken from that old dry stale case. The crust snaps like a cracker: and this is not a super thin crust or anything. The give-a-shit-ometer seems to be stuck on zero for everyone that works here now. Regretfully won't be back. Too many other options in town to eat crap overpriced pizza. P.s. Nice touch having a menu board in store with no prices on it. Smh. read more

Pizza not bad, but the topping...cmon boys. This is embarrassing..... something schemey happened here, they didn't feel like making a new pie so they just threw onions on top of a made one, and they gave me a large when I ordered a medium thinking I would know they were slick. Appreciate the effort but next time try a little harder here fellas. read more

Love this place. I am in summit for work and was lucky enough to randomly find this place. This review is based on the plain and pepperoni pizza. Excellent flavor and ratios and so far , it has been the same consistency each time I've stopped by. read more

Incredible! Stopped in for a slice and was blown away! So much so I had to order another slice. Got a chance to meet the owner while I was here and was glad I did. She was so sweet and personable. The pizza had just the right amount of cheese to sauce ratio. And the crust had a great crunch to it! This town slacks when it comes to good pizza, until I came here! I will definitely be back. read more

Delish extra cheese pie and delivery was fast on Friday. Super pleasant on the phone as well as delivery driver. Thank you!

I have had Dorias a handful of times over the last 20 years and every time I am reminded why I never come here. The most recent was for my kids birthday party, which was held at Color Me Mine next door. It was close and convenient, but what a let down. Overpriced pizza that just doesn't taste good. I much prefer Village Trattoria in summit. Update to owner- The birthday was pre-Covid read more

Ordered on Slice. Came early, great service. Salads are super fresh. Beat salad was great. Tomatoes were amazing. Pizza tasted good but it wasn't cooked enough. Pepperoni wasn't crisp, mushrooms cold, cheese congealed and cold. I don't think it was an issue with arriving cold...it was an issue of not being cooked enough. Not a deal breaker. Would try again. read more

First time ordering from here. Unfortunately disappointed with the pizza. It barely had any sauce on it and the crust was really dry.

Great Pizza, thin-crust perfection. My son goes to school locally and always talks about the great pie. Nice and clean interior

Thank you Doria for being in the right place at the right time. After a field hockey game my daughter was HANGRY and needed some food. We didn't stay long as we got slices to go, but they were good Jersey slices of pizza. I kept mine simple - plain and sausage, and my daughter went with a plain and a ziti/noodle slice. As you know, I fully admit to being a pizza snob and I get wound up if a slice is even just mediocre because this is Jersey and you have no business BEING in the pizza business if you can't make good pizza. The competition is too tough to make something less than great. Well, at least based on the four slices my daughter and I had, Doria's should find continued success as they make excellent pizza. The sauce was great - not too sweet, but very tasty. I like my pizza a little bit well done as it gives the cheese a better flavor and these slices were done just that way. The sausage on my slice was ok, not great, but ok. My daughter probably didn't taste hers as she was ravenous, but she SAID it was delicious...her go-to slice is the ziti slice and she wolfed it down like it was a slice of heaven. I don't live in the area so I can't speak to sandwiches or the regular counter workers here, but I can simply tell you that we had a great experience here. I'd go back... read more

I had a nice afternoon walking around Summit, and this place, on charming Springfield Ave had incredibly decent pizza. The mediterranean-blue and white decor worried me, screaming, "Greece! Greece!" (Regrettably, I've never been to a good Greek pizzeria, that's why I was worried), but the rather cheap cheese slice, and fresh tomato, mozzarella, and basil slice were both pretty good, with thin-ish crust, and a sauce and cheese texture reminiscent of a slice from Brooklyn, in taste but not necessarily in appearance. The people behind the counter were pretty friendly too, of the, "Warm day outside today, eh?" kind. Thought I should mention that. read more

This is my second time at Doria's. My first time I was so impressed with the plain slice (not everyone can get this right) that I NEEDED to come back. (I live 30 mins away from the area) this time we came back and I'm so glad to say that it's consistently crispy and delicious! And the guy behind the counter even made fresh garlic knots for us! How nice of him!! If I could teleport this place closer to home, I would. read more

Pizza was not good at all, flavor was dull and had a strange aftertaste. Not only that, but the service was horrible, was not acknowledged when I went in and when I ordered, I was rudely stared and scolded at for speaking too slowly. The restaurant itself also looks very crusty and old, was not a pleasant experience overall. Village trattoria is much better at the same price point. read more

Grabbed a slice here in a rush while house hunting in Summit. My husband got 2 Sicilian slices while I had a slice of the thin Grandma's. Mine was tasting. The sauce had a bit of a sweet, but sour taste, pretty unique. I liked that it was thin. There was grease pooling at the crust which wasn't so appealing, but I did get a corner piece so what can you expect? Overall, wish I could try a plain slice next time to really give this place a fair review. Wish my slice had more sauce at the edges by the crust, but then again, it was a corner slice. read more

Very disappointing, very overpriced pizza. I've been to every pizza place in Summit, and this one is by far the worst. Bland and uninspired. My recommendation: Village Tratoria is the best pizza place in Summit, and their Italian dishes aren't bad at all (try the chicken francese). read more

I was looking for real NY pizza on my last day in the metropolitan area before having to go back to Europe and went to Doris's because it was there. Excellent pizza and the $10 cheese pizza special on Mondays and Tuesdays is absolutely unbeatable

After a trip to Short Hills Mall, my husband and I were hankering for some pizza. Being unfamiliar with the area, I asked Siri to find me a pizza store with good reviews. Boy did she find a winner. This was easily the best pizza we've had in years. I had the Grandma slice, hubby had a standard cheese. It was anything but standard. Thin, crispy crust, tasty sauce, and loads of ooey, gooey cheesy goodness. Heavenly! Our trips to Short Hills Mall will never again be complete without a pit stop at Doria's. read more

The crust is special. Chewy but not jaw-straining. Crisp on the outside, hot warm goodness on the inside. Thin, but not even close to the cardboard crust you get at most pizza places if you ask for thin. Jankiest pizza in Summit... They don't even know their own menu, misrepresent products, and completely overcharge. Ordered two margarita pizzas for family dinner and they tried to charge $45. Once it was worked out that we wanted margarita and not grandma's pies, they didn't know what to put on it. We ended up with two regular cheese pizzas with old basil sprinkled on top for $30. Ridiculous. read more

Doria's pizza is amazing!!!!! The pizza reminds me of home. And you have to try the squares!!!! So good!

Good neighborhood pizza joint. Ordered a cheese and pepperoni slice which was similar to the many pizza joints you get in the city, nothing special but hit the spot if you are hungry or in a hurry. read more

Solid pizza place to get a slice in Summit. I finally visited the store after years of gobbling their pizza at kid's birthday parties. I would come here again. Slice was fresh, not too doughy, sauce wasn't too sweet, and the sausage was cooked nicely. Haven't tried the subs but I would give it a go next time. Nice people. Eat local. read more

Doria Pizza Restaurant - Pizza Near Me - Summit, New Jersey

I just moved to Summit from Morristown, where I grew up on Suvio's slices - a place I would brag to my friends had better-than-NY pizza. It turns out that the people there are cousins with the people at Suvio's - and the pizza I had was amazing! Delicious cheese, a smooth, understated sauce on a crispy-yet-fluffy, light bread. Definitely it's own pizza, but definitely the quality I hoped for. I don't know how it is during dinner-rush or lunch-rush, but I found the people really chill and friendly. I didn't feel like they were being nice for business - I felt that they were just being nice while I waited for my pizza. Will definitely come again, very soon. read more

This used to be a great place to get slices for the kids after a stroll downtown. Now, with new ownership or something, everyone there is so darn rude. The pizza is not that great to put up with workers who are going to be rude to little kids. This is Summit. We're all here to raise our kids in a happy environment. After a couple years of only going to Doria's, we will never go again (after that last rude encounter). And I don't think we're alone. Once a super busy place, it's always empty when we walk by. Looks like we've all gotten the hint. I prefer Joe's, Village Trattoria, or Zappias. read more

Doria is a good spot for a slice. They have a great Sicilian slice -- nice and thick, plenty of cheese. Again, as with most 3s I give, it doesn't do anything to separate itself. It's the only legit pizza spot in Summit, and I'd definitely come back whenever I'm craving a slice downtown. read more

I have been going to Doria's every Saturday with my grandfather since I was 6 years old (now 21). I absolutely love how crispy the slices are.
