Bar Area - Spacious & Nice!

We recently moved to Godley and decided to give this restaurant a try for a lunch date. Sat at the bar...Ordered a beer & mimosa then Chicken Fried Steak (with the jalapeño gravy) & Fish Tacos. Both entrees were hot, fresh & just DELICIOUS! Looks like a great place for Happy Hour too! Will definitely be back!

DO NOT SLEEP ON HICKORY TREE GRILL! Came in by accident, but will be making the 45 mile drive on purpose moving forward! Came in to super friendly staff, was served an amazing dill pickle martini then my FREAKING perfect burger and fries arrived! This is a must stop if ever in Joshua TX!

I love all they have on the menu but the hand cut fries and homemade ranch are my favorite thing! Bar fully stocked and it's never a long wait if any when you arrive.

Outstanding location. Open concept and beautifully done in a old rehabilitated building. Huge bar, bottle, draft, mixed and wine. Texican type place. Brisket infused food choices, great burgers, chicken fried steak. Just a great place for Joshua. Feels like something you would expect to find in FW. It's semi foodie which I like. Definitely will be going back. Food was delicious, felt like the brisket tacos were a little over sauced on the sweet side. The smoke and texture was plenty good to carry the dish IMO. Burger out of this world good, the Texican is amazing. Home cut fries aren't my thing in general bc it's hard to get them crispy. I think that's how home cut fries are in general. They were very fresh and tasty but prefer crispy fries or tater tots. Definitely going back to try two more dishes. I dig this place.

I think this place was really talked up so I was expecting so much more. I ordered the Chicken fried chicken which was bad but I also ordered the Cajun gravy and for a $3 charge it was delicious cut barely covered my chicken. My mashed potatoes and corn were not hot they seemed as though they had been sitting out for a while. We ordered my grandson fries and grilled cheese and it was ok. I did love the fried pickles. They are the spears not the slices which my husband didn't care for but I loved them!!! We plan to return I think I will just order something else next time. I will review again once I try it out for a second time.

10/18/20 Sunday 3:00 pm. This place used to be the next city over and just never got a chance to try, I so missed out! This location is great; the restaurant is industrial but not cold, perfect for old town. It is a biscuit concept restaurant earlier in the day and at 3:00 it changes to Hickory Tree and dinner. It was pretty quiet when we came in. We ordered the fried pickles which were spear and not chips. They were excellent not too greasy nor salty. We split a smoky meatloaf dinner with 2 sides we choose green beans and cajun mashed. The meatloaf was perfect not overly heavy as most meatloafs can be the bbq sauce that it is topped with is made in house and set off the smoky meatloaf delicately. The mashed were hot, a little zip and had a great flavor as well. Lastly green beans a little spicy as well with bits of bacon and well seasoned. Great meal and shout out to Araceli our most excellent server! Forgot to take a picture. Priced well, hot food, solid meal, excellent service!! Dessert next time and there will be a next time! Sorry no pic.

The caldo de res was better than home, and very well served portions. At least 10-12 oz of meat maybe more and a great array of veggies and excellent rice and condiments on the side. They don't skimp on the lime for the soups either. We ordered an extra order of flour tortillas. The food came with two for each but they were so good we got one more order. Also for alternative sweeteners they have yellow blue and my favorite pink which I have found they have available less and less. I will come back again. The menudo was excellent. Only complaint is they could have better soup spoons. Bring your own if you are partial to deeper soup spoons, which is petty in the big picture of it all. My dad is picky as I will get out. I am sleeping good tonight with a warm full tummy! The music is classic Mexican and most of my mom's favorites were playing. She was born in the 40's and loved all the classics. We decided to try the flan for dessert .It was about average but we didn't leave any on the plate , and they brought us two spoons on request. We are coming back for breakfast tomorrow .

I ordered a glass of sangria and it came out as a glass of Merlot. I ordered quesabirria tacos and charro beans. The beans had a good flavor but it was mostly broth not many beans. The birria tacos had a good flavor but were extremely oily, making them get soggy quick. My husband had the guisada which he said was tender and the flavor was good. The service was good. They bring out two salsas and beans with the chips which was nice but a bit underwhelming as far as flavor. The restroom was separate from the sink and the sink had no soap which left me hoping they wash their hands in the back. For the price, I'm not sure if I will go back.

They ask if potato and beans are ok before serving. I made two big burritos of beans potato and egg with the tortilla that came with the order and the extra order of tortilla I got. Breakfast was a ten! I loved it! Dad had huevos rancheros over medium. They came on a bed of corn tortillas pan fried and beautifully prepared. The refried beans were on point and the papas were just right. The service was amazing. They have milk, half and half or vanilla creamer. It's good to have choices! The salsa was red or green I tried both and the green won for me. The red was mild enough for kids and elders and that's great! Very family oriented environment! Booster seats and high chairs available. No changing table and only one accessible bathroom. The bathroom needs a "manita de gato" as we say. A good cleaning of the floor. Sink and toilet were acceptably clean. They have a scan menu too. Overall it's an 8 out of 10. If the bathroom was cleaner I would give them a 10 of 10.
