Moo-Oink-en Platter, potato salad, Red beans and toast .

This was our first visit but the negative reviews almost kept me away but glad they didn't. The restaurant was clean and not busy at all which was a little surprising for a Saturday at 7:30 pm. The menu was on a large video display. There were lots to choose from and the prices looked very reasonable. I ordered the "Moo-Oink-En-platter. It included all of the meats on the menu, two sides and Texas toast. I chose the potato salad and red beans. I had the banana pudding for desert. My wife chose the "Kids plate, chop beef sandwich with Red beans for her side. She had the peach cobbler for desert and said it was all good. There was not one item I did not enjoy as it was all very good. I rated them 5 and my wife gave them a 5 as well. Give them a chance and tell us what you think.

Rib Plate with sweet potato fries

Door dashed dinner from Roscoes tonight and as usual the meat was delicious. We both got rib plates with fries. Regular and sweet potato fries. My sweet potato fries were still a little raw crunchy inside and could have been cooked longer.

BBQ is tough because we all have different tastes. Staff was very nice. 2 meat plate with pulled pork and Jalapeño cheddar sausage, slaw and potato salad. Sausage was excellent! Pork was over cooked and slightly mealy, slaw was average and potato salad decent. Cool place though.

We decided to go here to eat one night. I had never been before. I ordered the smoked chicken quesadilla with Mac and cheese and okra. The quesadila was a 7 out of 10 for me. Nothing special about it. Overall just good. The okra was well done which is exactly how I like it and the mac and cheese was on point so I would give those 9/10. I can't attest to the other stuff as I didn't eat it. I would go back but it wouldn't be my first choice for bbq.

Meatloaf, mashed potatoes and Mac and cheese

Mom and I were traveling from out of town and stumbled upon this restaurant. We saw a lot of cars parked in front and assumed from there that this place knows bbq. Let me tell you, at least from my experience, they do t know brisket. I'm a Texas gal born and raised and it was the most disgusting thing my mom has ever had in the world of bbq. Now on my end of things I got the meatloaf and that is why I gave this restaurant 2 stars instead of 1. The meatloaf was very very good! The staff was absolutely wonderful and I feel bad having to leave such a negative experience here. As for the sides they were just ok. Nothing to rave over. Would I go back? No.

Dry food all around

Horribly dry!! Terrible chopped sandwich on a dry, cold, un-steamed bun. Dry Mac n Cheese. Potato salad was just ok. First time here and definitely won't come back!! Big turnoff was watching the lady ROLL THE CHOPPED MEAT IN A BALL BETWEEN HER HANDS THEN SMOOSH IT ON MY SANDWICH LIKE A KID PLAYING WITH PLAY-DOH. Yuck! They should really try a new technique or just use a portion scoop for this. It Doesn't make it appealing to want to eat after that.

Brisket sandwich with sweet potato fries!

Dear lord. My tastebuds did not know what was coming! The first night (yes, I've already been back a second time) I asked the owner what he recommended and he gave me a sample of the chicken, jalapeno sausage, and brisket. All were great, like seriously good. The chicken was the most tender I've ever tasted. I ended up ordering the brisket sandwich with sweet potato fries. Quite good. The second night I ordered the Moo-Oink-En for myself and a chicken plate for my colleague. When I brought that take out bag with me to the hospital where we were working that night, everyone who came in the room wanted to know where I got our food from because it smelled so good. I'll probably go back a 3rd time (in one week!).

We got fabulous place with just what it says Tex-Mex barbecue. Even the unsweet iced tea was really good When I posted it on Facebook, I had several of my friends that live in that area almost told me I was in trouble with them because I didn't tell him I was going there for lunch. They wanted to meet me just so they would have a good reason to go eat there. It's one of those places that you get kind of addicted to because they do things so well and you feel so welcome. It's pretty cool place though it's I think it converted Dairy Queen from back in the day definitely an upgrade on the culinary side of things versus a Dairy Queen It's cool. They even have a couple of DRAFT beer options if you need to have that with your brisket taco which you might need to have that with your brisket taco I had a massive quesadilla that I took home the last wedge of it because I couldn't eat it all

The difference is a half pound and a full pound. I assume that must be the weight of the entire burrito, not meat portion. I probably should have had that clarified because it was definitely not the meat portion. This is a very basic, bland burrito that consists mostly of eggs. When I opened the burrito I noticed it has a slice of American cheese as the cheese. Service was great and inside is clean. I wouldn't return personally because I didn't like my food.

The staff was friendly, attentive, and made sure we were taken care of. We got to go and our food was still hot. You could tell the food was prepared with care. I'm sorry but I would not recommend this barbecue joint. Sorry guys, I love your story and think…read moreit's cool. I'm assuming you guys live not having to work a full week and make enough money in a couple of days to live happily. But I'm just gonna tell you the truth from a customer's perspective. Let me first tell you that I have been a barbecue fanatic for approximately 7 years. It started the first time I went to a REAL barbecue joint in Lockhart. I had no idea barbecue could be this good. Then when I saw my first Texas Monthly Top 50 Passport at Hutchins in McKinney, I was on a mission. That award period I visited 38 of the top 50. Since then I've probably been to 60+ locations that have at one time or another landed on the Top 50 list. I've only been to Goldee's once but here are my take away: - I arrived at 11:00am on a Friday. The line wasn't terrible and I made it to the counter at 12:30pm. In just that short period of time they ran out of all their specialty offerings for the day except lamb sausage, which can be common. But they also ran out of their everyday pork ribs. Now COME ON! This place was #1 last ranking and #3 this time. You can't cook enough ribs to take care of customers that line up when you open? - The lamb sausage was very good. It definitely stood out as something unique, memorable and noteworthy. - Brisket was good but nothing that made me think it was better than most and definitely not worth coming back and standing in line for. - Side items: all they had that was appealing to me was Mac and cheese and pinto beans and neither of those were notable. - I ordered a beef rib because they were out of everything else. No turkey, pork, chicken. It was like any other beef rib. Good but way too rich and greasy. I can never eat much of that. And I like VERY moist (fatty) brisket. - That brings me to my next point. This is the ONLY place I have ever heard of that does not let you pick the style of brisket you like. They force you to take half moist and half lean. The reason I never cared for barbecue (particularly brisket) before I went to Lockhart was because it was too dry. Even with proper Texas BBQ, I NEVER eat lean brisket. There just isn't enough flavor and juice for my liking. On the other hand, I know several people that hate all the fat. And they are forcing those people to take what they do not like in order to get what they want. It is an insane way to serve Texas BBQ. - Drinks? They have a standup cooler with some sodas and bottled tea. It's hard to find a BBQ joint in Texas that does serve fresh brewed tea. They don't. - Location and seating: it's basically like a single-wide mobile home. Very small entry/order area and very few seats. If you don't get there 2 hours before they open, you will be standing outside for 1.5+ hours, maybe spend 15 mins inside, and have to take your food to go. - Hours?! I'm sorry, I understand you can do what you want, work when you want, have whatever quality of life you want. But if you're gonna be sought out as the best of the best in Texas, think about your customers. Limiting yourself to only being open a couple of days per week makes it very difficult and uncomfortable for your customers to visit you. I can see you getting a handful of regulars and all those people like me that HAVE TO try you, but it definitely is not geared towards taking care of us and wanting us to come back. Bottom line, if you HAVE TO try them, I suggest getting there 1.5-2 hours before they open on a Friday. If you get there at 11, there's a good chance you will have wasted time in line for mediocre barbecue with very limited options. But these are the reasons why I would never recommend you and never think about coming back.

When in TX, must get TX BBQ. Peer highly recommended here. I'm always sceptical when people give…read moresuch high praise to a TX BBQ place--have been majorly disappointed twice. Food was delicious! Brisket tad on the dry side, but still full of flavour and good without any sauce. If you NEED sauce to help with flavour, to help add moisture, or otherwise necessitate for the eatablity of the brisket, the brisket is a failure. Sauce should be an accent--an option, not a staple. Staff were awesome--friendly and helpful! While waiting at the pit, server could tell it was my first time and he explained how process worked at this establishment. Cashier was friendly and helpful as well. As I was walking to throw my trash away and put up my tray and silverware, an employee swooped in and took it all despite being in the middle of another task. Has a fun and rustic vibe. This is will have to hold me over until next time I can return to TX for more authentic TX BBQ.
