Gumbo
Aisha T.

Cool day = Gumbo. I decided to try this food truck that I see often. Service was friendly and prompt, however if you are using a card there is a 1.50 service fee charge. At this point who wants to go to an ATM to still be in the same predicament of paying a service fee? Bring CASH! So, there's that. Gumbo was flavorful just a bit heavy on the salt though. The one little crab leg I got had no meat in it.

Red beans n rice and gumbo

Been wanting to try the trucks that started popping up at Alta Mesa and McCart. Glad I did! Today I got the red beans n rice and the gumbo so I could try both. Both were super good. The beans had a very unique flavor that I truly enjoyed. The staff is very friendly and full of smiles. Can't wait to come back and try more. May be some mud bugs and crab in my future. Just had to make sure the gumbo was good, because if you can't do a gumbo, I don't care to try your other stuff. Great job guys! Keep it up and see you soon

This is My first time eating here. I am from Louisiana and I know about Cajun food. I have seen the Ads on Facebook and I was very reserve about the food. Not everyone can cook Cajun food . I ordered the Cajun Leg quarter with the potatoe salad and bake beans, I also ordered the the Cajun crawfish that automatic comes with potatoes, corn and sausage for no additional cost. These we the largest crawfish I have seen this year. Everyone is trying to make a decision on what to order from Boudain to the Cajun Pot Pie. They don't have any problems on giving you any samples. Once you order you can hang around or they will bring it to your car. We sat in the car and ate our Chicken after that first bite My Husband looked at me and said if I knew this was this good we should if got a Family pack! They take cash and credit cards This is the most awesome Cajun food I have tast since I been here. I highly recommend this place for People who enjoy spicy and seasoned food. The great thing about them they move around to different places but wherever they go they post it on Facebook and the time they will be there. If you want to know how real Cajun food taste them...~Rj

Was shocked at how much I loved this place. We've driven by here many times and just never stopped…read more We finally decided to try this to grab snacks for football and it did not let us down. We purchased a couple of items to see what hit. The service was quick. It took them 10-15 to make it fresh but they offered to bring our order out when it was ready, which was a great offer. There's no sitting, it's a quick pick up kinda spot. Now to the food! The chicken and sausage gumbo was amazing!!!! We inhaled it so fast, it's flavorful and well seasoned. Chicken seems to be shredded and fresh. Perfect as a comfort food. The egg rolls were delicious, I'm very anti sweet added to my food. But the sauce is sweet and spicy and goes well with the roll. We also tried the boudin plate that has a sausage, ball and fries. We ordered a spicy sausage which was great and well seasoned. The boudin pepper jack ball was delicious. Only complaint were the fries, that was our only letdown. They were soggy in oil. No crisp... maybe it was just a bad batch. But that can be overlooked compared to the quality of the food. The food is amazing and the quality is just what you expect at a 5 star restaurant. Will definitely return. Don't sleep on this spot

The texture was just right--crispy on the outside and moist on the inside. The spice level had a nice kick without being overpowering. (We picked the pepper-jack cheese filling) They were fantastic and Paired with the right dipping sauce, I'd definitely order them again! Our Jambalaya was Packed with bold flavors and the perfect balance of spice, this jambalaya was absolutely delicious! The rice was cooked just right--tender and infused with all the smoky, savory goodness of the sausage, chicken, and shrimp. Every bite had a rich depth of flavor, with just the right amount of heat to keep things exciting. The portion was generous, and the seasoning was spot on. If you're looking for an authentic, hearty, and satisfying dish, this jambalaya ROCKS my pallet! BOUDIN!!! BOUDIN!! BOUDIN!! THE NAMESAKE! Both the spicy and mild Boudin were absolutely delicious! The mild version had a rich, savory flavor with a perfect balance of seasoning, while the spicy one had just the right amount of heat to give it an extra kick without overpowering the taste. The texture was spot on--moist, flavorful, and packed with authentic Cajun goodness. Whether you like it mild or with a bit of spice, this Boudin is a must-try. Perfect on its own or with a little mustard and crackers. I am so HAPPY I grabbed some frozen links to-go for my freezer at home when I have that late night craving for Beaux Boudin! The owners treat you like family and most definitely make these wonderful dishes with LOVE you can taste in every bite!! Make sure to check the hours and plan your visit...you won't be disappointed!

I met up with a friend, and we decided to give Gogo Gumbo a try. Excellent choice! The first word that came to mind during the meal was memories. Good food, good conversation, and a comfortable atmosphere have a way of creating them. We started with two Seafood Gumbo Cups. The gumbo had shrimp and crawfish, and the seasoning was just right and full of flavor without being overpowering. A great way to start the meal. I had a small cup of steam rice to add to the gumbo too. The atmosphere was another pleasant surprise. The vibe was relaxed, the staff was attentive, and, most importantly, we could actually have a conversation without fighting through a wall of unnecessary background noise. For our entrées, my friend ordered the Chicken Schizzle with grits, while I ordered the Etouffee. Yes, Etouffee (I believe that's French, and no, I don't speak French) I asked what it was. What I do speak is good food, and this was delicious. The Etouffee was rich, flavorful, and satisfying. I enjoyed every bite and definitely found myself savoring it rather than rushing through the meal. We had iced sweet tea and regular tea, although I'm sure they have some excellent drinks as well. Overall, this was my first visit to Gogo Gumbo, and it definitely won't be my last. Great food, good service, a relaxed atmosphere, and a place where you can actually enjoy the company you came with. I'm a fan, and I highly recommend Gogo Gumbo. Sometimes a good restaurant gives you more than a good meal; it gives you a memory.

For our entrées, we ordered the Crab Stuffed Shrimp, Fettuccine Alfredo, Lobster Ravioli & Beef Tenderloin, and the kids' Chicken Tenders with fries. The chicken tenders were a little under-seasoned, but every other dish was phenomenal. The seafood was fresh, the flavors were rich, and everything was cooked beautifully. What truly set this restaurant apart was the service. It was some of the very best we've experienced at any restaurant. Our server was attentive, friendly, knowledgeable, and made our entire meal even more enjoyable. We couldn't leave without dessert and are so glad we didn't! The strawberry cheesecake and the Jack Daniel's Chocolate Mousse were both delicious. The cheesecake crust, in particular, was absolutely incredible and one of the best we've ever had. If you're looking for exceptional food, outstanding service, and a memorable dining experience, GoGo Gumbo is a must-visit. We'll definitely be back!

What restaurants don't seem to understand is that if you are going to charge more then the bar has to be raised in every sense. Now the food I will say it was seasoned really well. The shrimp was not overcooked which is a plus and something that is a tell anywhere there is seafood. However, this place needs a major hosedown, its really dirty. I know sometimes tables are sticky- they were sticky, seats are sticky- they were menus on the table were greasy. That is the secont thing I noticed. The second thing I noticed is we were not greeted at the host counter for a while. No one was standing there or quickly came to us. I get it sometimes places are severely understaffed but a courteous apology or even a simple explanation would've been decent. Then we were seated behind a couple that were on a business call full blast even though there were many other empty booths and tables. Then our sever took forever to come take our drink orders and then forgot to bring out one of the drinks. Then the food comes out. It looks good. I got to grab my silverware and it was filthy. I didn't want to complain so my husband was about to hand me his when a bug may a "c" came out of his silverware and ran under the table. This really ruined how I felt about the place and it was unfortunate because the food tasted good. Unfortunately, three out of four us fell ill that night. Not great will not return.

During our friendly conversation, Joe let us know this was a recipe made by him that he's honed over the years. Admittedly, when I think of Cajun flavors and/or cuisine, my immediate thought never thinks burger. So, I was skeptical. After one bite, though, I was a complete convert. A definite must-try! No complaints about the Catfish Po'boy. The sauce, seasoning, and spice level was on point. It was also served with a homemade tartar sauce that was tasty. As good as everything was, the Spicy Wings were the stand-out IMO. These wings are less - wait, nothing - like standard Buffalo Wings. They were more in the realm/world of an expertly piece of Southern Fried Chicken. To begin with, it was an ENTIRE wing - basically the size of your hand or the equivalent to about 9 wings. The entire tip, flat, and drum are fried intact, yielding a super crispy bite here, a juicy succulent flat there, finished off with a meaty, few bites of a drum. Nothing burnt, dry, or overcooked. Again, the meat was so moist, the crunch so satisfying, and the seasoning/flavor - beyond. I have to touch on the fact that the owner/chef seriously came across happy to be cooking for us in the midst of 100+ weather. The service wasn't over-the-top or gimmicky in the least. All of us thought and felt this person/food truck team was simply there because they genuinely wanted to be. Simply put - both the food and staff left us feeling good. :-) I'm only sorry I didn't try their red beans and rice or a couple of other menu items that weren't available at my particular time of visit. No worries though, because I'll definitely back.
