Stopped by here for lunch one day and was very satisfied! It's not the best bbq that I have ever had, but it was really good. The portion sizes are HUGE! Definitely could have split with someone. Fried okra was not greasy. Mac and cheese was delicious, too. Jalapeño cheddar sausage had a lot of flavor. You definitely get bang for your buck! In Texas there are some amazing craft bbq places that you have to wait hours for. Cousins is the best you can get without the line and limited hours. There is even a drive thru at this location. I have tried many peach cobblers and theirs is my favorite. My go to is the smokehouse salad. Service is quick and friendly. read more

Had not been here in quite some time so decided to give them another try. Apologize for not getting cashier name but didn't think I was going to leave a review. She was great & helpful in reviewing the menu. We decided on 3 meat plate double brisket & pulled pork. Brisket was just too much fat we had to cut off & easily 40% of the weight . Flavor of meat though was good. Pulled pork texture was off as it seemed more like a dense piece of meat than the traditional stringy...we didn't finish it. The cowboy beans flavor was really good but portion was super small. Coleslaw was not my favorite as I prefer it chopped much finer but the taste was good. The only other item was there a person at table next to us (employee perhaps?) chowing down on a large order of Wingstop and there was food, water and debris on on floors when we got there and remained when we left. It was not crowded and only a couple tables were occupied. Hopefully this review is helpful to both customers and the business. If I was the owner I would want to know this. read more

The service at the drive thru was fast and friendly but that's where the positivity ends. The sliced beef was dry and flavorless. The new potato salad tasted like vinegar and not much else. The price was expected for bbq which is rather expensive but worth it when it is done right. Stopped in today, haven't been in awhile and on the way home. Had the 3 meat with Ribs, brisket and sausage. The plate had 2 ribs which were so so, not very much meat and kind of bland. Then had 3 small slices of dry brisket, and the rest of the contents were jalapeno cheese sausage. Wasn't what I had expected since have been there quite a few times. The sausage skin was very tough and the sausage didn't have much taste. My wife had a potato with chopped brisket which was also very dry. Not sure what has happened since we were there last, but definitely not the same quality of BBQ. read more

I was highly disappointed only thing that was good was my ribs. I ordered a three meat plate rib, turkey and ham. the turkey and the ham look like deli sliced meat was thrown in a skillet and sauteed for 2 minutes.. The broccoli casserole look like it was just mudded with cheese minus the steam broccoli. It literally look like it was just thrown in the microwave and warm up and put in my to go container. Yeah, this is an OK place to get a bit of barbecue. The difficult part of being in Texas and owning a barbecue joint is just that. You're in Texas. All Texans are critics of barbecue. It's in our blood. We came for a weekday lunch. The staff were exceptionally kind and welcoming. We each got some version of the brisket. It was OK. It was not bad, but it was not exceptional, either. It was pricey, though. My brisket barometer goes off the charts for a bold bark and for moist, fatty marbling that runs through each piece. I received brisket with little bark, and it was too lean, which caused it to taste dry. It's the oleic acid in the brisket cut that is desired, and that comes from selecting good beef. Hopefully, it was a one-off, and the next time I visit Cousins it will be a good brisket day. On another positive note, the restaurant was clean, well organized, and offered a fantastic bar of condiments. Being able to refill your own drink is also a plus. Anyway, that's my side of the menu. read more

The smoked wings are great! Had a taste for BBQ last weekend and decided to get something other than my usual brisket baker and boy am I glad I did! Hadn't had a great batch of smoked wings in a while. So, when we got home and tasted these we were surprised at how flavorful they were and that they weren't dried out. Let me tell you now, these bad boys are BIG! Order 10 and only could eat about 6 and that was a reach. Needless to say I enjoyed them soooo freaking much made the hubby go back last night. I've been going to cousins for years. We use to love this place. The last two times we have been there it is terrible. Last time it was so bad that the manager had someone drive to my house with a new pound of brisket. What we got was just a ball of fat. I've lved in Texas my whole life, eaten Texas BBQ my whole life. I understand marbling, lean vs. Fatty brisket. I called in a fairly large order all containing turkey (literally the only reason we come here) and drive all the way here to be told there's no turkey. Pretty frusterated when it should have been told to us on the phone.
