I rarely ever leave bad reviews unless an experience is truly awful, but this specific sales associate absolutely earned it. I don't blame the store itself, but her behavior was completely unacceptable. My husband and I went to this location this afternoon around 3:00 to 4:00 PM. We waited outside in line for over half an hour, genuinely excited to purchase at least a bracelet, or a purse if they had a style I liked. I love this brand, but the moment we walked in, this one employee completely ruined it for us. While I was looking around and my husband took a seat, she approached us. She was a petite woman with tan skin, and if I remember correctly, her name tag said Niki. She barely even greeted us--if she did, it was completely half-hearted. Instead, she demanded, 'What do you want?' twice, in an incredibly impatient and dismissive tone. I asked her about two different styles, and she just pointed at a wall, snapped that they only had that one, and checked out. When I asked if we could just look around for a bit, she told me, 'Yes, and if you have questions, ask the people by the door and they will find someone else to help you.' Essentially, she was passing us off and refusing to do her job. She was unbelievably rude and unprofessional. Management needs to know that Niki is actively turning paying customers away. Because of her horrible attitude, we walked out empty-handed. I genuinely regret purchasing from Hermès. For a company that charges luxury prices, the customer experience was shockingly stressful and disappointing. I ordered a special birthday gift for my sister, only to have their rigid delivery policy completely ruin the experience. They require someone to be home to sign for the package, but this was not clearly communicated in a reasonable way during the ordering process. Because of their inflexible delivery rules, the gift never arrived in time for her birthday. What frustrates me most is the attitude behind it all. Instead of making customers feel valued, the entire process felt cold, inconvenient, and unnecessarily difficult. Their return policy is frustrating, their customer service was unhelpful, and overall the experience felt completely out of touch with what customers actually need. Luxury brands love taking people's hard-earned money, but customer care should matter too. A luxury experience should feel thoughtful and smooth -- not stressful and disappointing. The first few times I've been here the sales associates were so helpful in making purchases and exchanges. the last time I went was the worst customer service experience I have ever experienced by anyone including the security guard. If you don't want to wait in line every time, just find a SA you vibe with and text them for an appointment. It will make the shopping experience much smoother to have someone who knows your taste! My SA is Laurence and she's always been so kind, patient and helpful. Hermes leather is truly beautiful, I love their bags and shoes. Was looking to buy my husband a new wallet for his birthday and had a couple stores in mind. I popped into Hermes, which was relatively empty of shoppers, about six total, including myself. There were many employees milling around and about three or four in a group standing around chatting. The two girls who had walked in just ahead of me were greeted and offered assistance. I was not. I walked around the entire store looking at various things for just under ten minutes without anyone even acknowledging me. I even made eye contact with a couple employees. I finally interrupted the chatterbox group and they said they'd get someone to help me. She came out promptly but, as she was showing me the small selection of men's wallets they had in hand, she made her indifference to me very obvious. Zero interest in hearing or finding out more about what I was looking for. Her attitude was as if she was just waiting for me to leave. Besides being shocked at the lack of customer service, I wasn't impressed with the selection so I took my money to Bottega Veneta instead. There I received impeccable service, a glass of champagne and a personalized, digital list of favorite handbags and perfume for myself. I want to share my positive experience at South Coast Hermes and my sales associate Laurence. My husband, daughter, and myself came to Hermes without an appointment on a Friday around 5pm. There was a line but we quickly got in. We were assigned to Laurence. She asked what we were looking for and took us to that section. She was very patient and polite, and provided recommendations and even asked another male associate for feedback on a particular male shoe. My husband was looking for nice shoes for his suit. She was very sweet to my daughter as well. Overall my husband and I were very pleased with our first experience at Hermes. The second time we went in, she was again very helpful and patient. I'm shocked by the negative reviews of this Hermès Boutique. My family, spanning three generations, has shopped here; my grandmother, my parents, my sister and I. And on behalf of them, I'm surprised and upset by the negative reviews on yelp here. Personally, I've been to many Hermès stores globally. I've visited locations in Ho Chi Minh City, Paris, Rome, New York, Los Angeles, San Diego, and Costa Mesa, just to name a few. The other stores felt cold, unfriendly, and distant. I'd ONLY recommend the Costa Mesa boutique. Because for me, the Costa Mesa sales team are not only kind to customers and but also each other. It's rare to see such teamwork in retail. Furthermore, each time I visit, Janelle and Maxwell make my mother and me feel genuinely cared for. They ask how we are doing in our personal lives in addition to how they can help us shop. Janelle makes us feel like more than just another customer. My family and I have high standards. This boutique carries all the items we need/want, and when they don't, they go out of their way to get it to us either via shipping to our home or to the boutique. They ensure we get the right items. Absolutely poor customer service, after having such good experiences previously with another associate this last time I came in was a complete waste of time with no selection available. I didn't get the sales persons name that was helping me but wearing a scarf and working at Hermes does not automatically make you someone with class, you are still a retail worker at the end of the day. I was skeptical to go to this Hermès because this location got 2 1/2 stars. However, I still decided to proceed because I live in Tustin. Within minutes, a different man came, greeted us, and guided us into the store. My appointment was for an hour from 6:00 - 7:00 pm. I was only in the store for about forty minutes. I knew what I wanted beforehand... I just needed to try them on. I got a Clic H bracelet in Rose Dragee with gold hardware for my twin sister as a birthday gift. Our birthday is next week. My husband got me a Clic H bracelet in Marron Glacé with rose gold hardware and Oran sandals in Gold Piqures Ecrues as my birthday gifts. I initially had my heart set on the Clic H bracelet in Rose Dragee with gold hardware, but when I tried it on... it just wasn't the right fit for me. Then my SA and husband suggested I try the Marron Glacé. She said it was the most popular one and my husband really liked it on me. The bag came back after 1 month and a half with new hardware, but intalled on crooked. Tried to contact the after sale care team again multiple time and finally was told that how handmade look like and if I want to redo, i have to send to Paris. If Hermès artisans are at this quality level, we might have to reconsider "luxury". Even my children have better symmetrical standard. Deniability is at the highest. read more

I am sad to say that this is the first time I have had such a terrible experience at a high end boutique!! Additionally, it was my first time visiting an Hermès boutique at that. I tried to make a shopping appointment online, but there were none available whatsoever on any day. I guess I could have called the store, but I was okay waiting in line...to an extent. I allotted myself 2 hours of waiting in line and shopping time (1 hour in line, 1 hour shopping). I arrived in the afternoon and it seemed that the line wasn't moving and then it was for a little bit. It so happens, just under the one hour mark, I am at the front of the line. As I was in front of the line people who had appointments started to show up. Okay, that's cool, I understand you are working with a CA. After about 20 minutes later my patience started to wear thin because there was literally no one inside the store shopping due to the lack of CA's working at the time. Since I came on a weekend, you would expect them to have more people working to help with the line on such a busy day. While I was waiting in line, Chanel's line was also long, but was moving much more quickly. I don't know if Hermès is trying to create a façade of them feeling and/or looking superior to the public or what the deal is with lack of employees, but it is peeving knowing you have to wait more than an hour to enter the store and having to be there in and out 15 minutes tops. To alleviate the wait, if you have the luxury to, come during the week to avoid the long wait. Once I was finally inside Isaac assisted me and was very pleasant and helpful with my needs. He made up for the long and tedious wait. I bought Oran sandals and shopped around a little for fragrances and their bracelets as well. Again, I am so sad that this is the worse luxury shopping experience I have ever had and it is unfortunate that it had to happen during my first visit at an Hermès boutique. read more
