Holy cowboy, Batman! This cafe is incredible. The moment you step in, you realize this is going to be different! Eclectic vibes, killer quiche, yummy pastries and delicious coffees. Highly highly recommend!

Very good coffee, earthy vibe, good service. Medium coffee of the day was the best coffee I've had this month.

The 4 stars are about the service mostly and less about the food or coffee. Staff worked with me to try to find anything they could for me with all my allergens. Ended up with some lunch meat and some avocado. They didn't charge me much for it, which bonus points honestly. The coffee i had was decidedly not good though. One of the fall drinks. Was so bad I only sipped it twice and then tossed it. Family ate their meals but didn't seem enthused. Half of one meal got tossed from someone who usually eats the whole plate. Overall, staff is kind, they will check for allergens, but stick to normal coffee, tea, other drinks, and pastries for the non allergen-ed among you.

A great breakfast choice. Everything appears to be made in house and fresh. The baked goods were delicious. The Quiche Lorraine with the flaky crust and high quality ingredients was tasty. Would have been better if served hot, not warm. The ham and egg toast was also good, but sat on the counter too long and was cool. The place is busy and the employees do the best they can. Coffee is fresh, hot and really hit the spot. Cute spot.

Right on Main St in beautiful Durango, Colorado, this little cafe is awesome! The menu posted is full of delicious treats made on site. Thick, fluffy quiches, fat shiney cinnamon rolls, great sandwiches and a variety of toasts - all of which call you back for more. We had the breakfast sandwich- an enormous delicate croissant filled with scrambled eggs, sausage and diced potatoes. I'll be full for a week! Don't miss this gem when you visit the Rockies!

We were headed out early and stopped by for a quick bite and coffee. We got the bacon and green chili quiche, chocolate chip muffin, latte and vanilla latte. All were delicious! The lattes had the best espresso flavor! It was a hoppin' place, even for the early morning. The ladies behind the counter were friendly, efficient and were cranking out the drinks! We'll definitely return!

Super friendly staff and lots of great food and drink options. I had a chai tea latte and they were able to spice it up like I like it! They had cayenne pepper even, which was awesome! Fast service and nice lounging area and decor. Came in here 3 times while we were in town.

Stopped in at the Hermosa Cafe in Durango, Colorado today. I picked up a few scones and a slice of veggie quiche to go! I'm a huge fan of quiche and scones and both were delicious! Glad we were just passing through town, otherwise I'd be eating there frequently! Like the employee there told me...think of it as food for the soul not the waistline!

It's OK coffee shop, they need to improve the menu in case of panini , especialy without chips, come on, really? Otherwise, it's alright.

However, we had gone on its closing day and had some great tacos, salad, and ramen. Their birria is rich and meaty with a touch of cinnamon and was awesome as a ramen and taco. If you are a lover of well done birria, this is your place. Craving authentic Mexican food? Yep, this is your place. We started with their chips and salsa. I think you can tell a lot by the salsa at a place. Lemme just say, I was so very happy! Their salsa wasn't too chunky, not too thin and they are not afraid to season and add some heat - but hey, don't worry it wasn't too hot if you've got a dad like mine who isn't a fan of "too much spice." Such a good omen. I couldn't decide which marg to try so ordered a flight. Best decision ever. Even as I write this, I'm still hard pressed to choose a favorite. They were all so good. Add street tacos, quesadillas for my mom, elote cob, and switch fries for my dad and we were all happy campers. The flavors were obscenely good. Staff were amazing and stopped by to make sure we were always taken care of: fast and friendly. Best combo ever. The place is also super cute! Loved the bar and simplicity of the concept. Switchback has a quiet elegance while be so very casual. Perfect in my book.

We always stay in Durango on our way to Breckenridge so made sure we stopped here for breakfast. It's a little north of town. 9 miles but worth it. They have a cute and large outdoor patio area where you can bring your dog as well as a covered semi indoor area and a smaller indoor area. They are open from 7-2. I loved that I could build my own breakfast and ordered 2 eggs over medium cheesy chili grits and a fruit cup. My husband also ordered two eggs over medium bacon and hashbrowns. The eggs were cooked perfectly! I can't tell you how many times I have gone to restaurants and chefs. Do not know how to cook an egg over medium! Cheesy green chili grits were fantastic just the right amount of spice and a great cheesy topping so good! The fruit cup was plentiful with grape strawberries and cantaloupe, pineapple and all nice fresh fruit. My husband said the bacon was perfectly cooked and the hashbrowns had a great crunch. We will definitely come back anytime we are in Durango! If you're in the area, they are worth the trip.

Every morning they seem to have a wide selection of freshly baked pastries, good coffee, big smiles and a beautiful building. She took the Durango & Silverton Narrow Gauge Railroad to Silverton, but unfortunately I wasn't able to go because of a medical condition that prevents me from traveling to high altitudes, and the train climbs to around 10,000 feet. After she left on her adventure, I decided to find some breakfast. While I was walking around town, my aunt called. She and my uncle used to vacation in Ouray every year, so she knows the area well. She recommended Jean-Pierre Bakery, so that's where I headed. I was seated right away and ordered a coffee while I looked over the menu. My waitress was very friendly, and we chatted for a while. She even recommended a few places around town that I should check out. I finally decided on the Croque Monsieur (brioche, béchamel, ham, and Swiss cheese) served with a salad. When my meal arrived, it looked fantastic. The sandwich was delicious, rich, and full of flavor. It was my first time trying a Croque Monsieur, and I really enjoyed it. The salad was fresh and crisp, and the vinaigrette paired perfectly with it. After finishing my meal, I couldn't resist ordering a pistachio cream-filled éclair that had caught my eye when I first walked in. It looked beautiful, but unfortunately, it was a disappointment. The pastry was very dry, and the bottom was quite hard. It definitely didn't taste freshly made. The pistachio cream had a nice flavor, but there wasn't very much of it. I mentioned my concerns to my server, and she kindly brought me a chocolate éclair to try instead. It also looked wonderful, but it had the same problem. The pastry tasted old, almost like it had been sitting for a couple of days. I would absolutely return for another Croque Monsieur or to try something else from the breakfast or lunch menu because that part of the meal was excellent. As for the pastries, they certainly look beautiful, but based on my experience, I would probably pass on them next time. This would have been a solid 4 star if those eclair had of been good.
