My colleague and I came here for lunch and I wish that we had one back home! The food was really great and it wasn't busy when we got there. The staff seemed a little overwhelmed with all of the orders going in but they were very patient with me while I figured out how it worked. The falafel was made to order and the rice was very flavorful. The wraps were also really good, not stale like I've had at some places. Honestly even 1 star is a lot. I don't know where to start with this review I asked for a jamaican jerk chicken bowl. When I got my food and went to go eat it had pork. I asked them ahead of time no pork please I can't eat pork. When I went to complain staff and the cook looked very annoyed. This place is a find! They change their cuisine every month to focus on a different region of the world, and so far have not missed. We found this spot after a spa day in Napa. As soon as we walked in, were greeted by a friendly person behind the counter. There's a nice variety of Asian fusion comfort foods. Everything from waffle fries covered in pulled pork it jerk chicken, to salads with proteins, to burgers, to sandwiches. Honestly, neither a 4 star review or a 5 star review feels right- if I could do a 4.5, I would. We really, really enjoyed this place but there were one or two small things that could be easily fixed. Overall, though, Heritage Eats is definitely a place that I'll revisit. My coworkers and I tried several different things when we were there- the OG fries and a taco sampler plate (both pictured), jerk chicken bao buns, falafel, and the sweet chili brussels sprouts. All of us had a hard time deciding what to order- there are so many creative options! The owners of the restaurant have developed a menu that incorporates some of my favorite types of food from all over the world. Everyone except one person was satisfied with their dishes, but as I mentioned there were a few things that could be improved. The carnitas, for example (specifically on the OG fries) were almost 50% fat. The person who got the tacos said that their meat on one of them was a little bland. OK now *this* I can get behind! After my experience with Haven Wings, I wanted to find a way to redeem my experience under this umbrella of restaurants and thus, I was able to find my way to Heritage Eats (finally!) I was eyeing the jerk chicken and was in-between tacos or the bowl, but the gentleman who helped me with my order said the bowl was more popular. So, I went with his recommendation and last minute added an order of the brussel sprouts! Flavor, check. Tenderness, check. Good portion size, check. OK!!! The Caribbean bowl came with jicama slaw, cucumbers, corn, and choice of rice or salad... which I thought was interesting. Yes, the balance of the freshness to carb and protein ratio was perfect - but I think in my mind, I was also seeking more "authentic" sides to accompany the jerk chicken (ie plantains, rice & peas, carnival bread, etc.) but it was fine. I think what made the most difference was the pineapple habanero sauce. I opted to getting that instead of the cilantro sauce since that one is more mild and ya know I am a SPICY GIRL! The pineapple habanero really tied everything together for me. If you're accustomed to eating spicy food then it will be a nice kick for ya (heat comes towards the end) but mostly provides a great flavor booster (which is why I asked for an extra container to dip my cucumbers and jicama slaw in lol.). I think the pineapple in the sauce allowed the freshness of the veggies to stand out while still blended all the flavors and textures together.
