I'm sorry Big D's but what happened? Used to be a great little Americana style Drive-In with great food... but something has changed and I can't justify coming here anymore. The Fish n Chips used to have decent pieces of deep fried fish, then they shrunk a bit into ok sized pucks but now? For $17 no less? I've seen McDonald's sized chicken nuggets larger than these pieces of fish... it just makes me sad because this was a place me and my dad loved to enjoy eating at together. Came back again 8 months later and was still thoroughly pleased with my burger and fries. I brought my brother who hates spending money and he was shocked by a $17 burger but after trying it agreed it was worth the price and would be returning. I'm not sure about any of these bad reviews because the burger it self is delicious. It's greasy and cheesy and a large portion. I can only ever eat half the burger. I've only ever gotten burgers and fries here so I can't recommend anything else on the menu, but the burgers are definitely worth it. The fries are also cooked to perfection. Salty and crispy but still soft on the inside. Haven't found a better burger in Napa. I could get it multiple days in a row. I will say service isn't amazing but it's a burger shack with kids working there, what do you expect ‍. As I stated previously, will be returning on my next trip. read more

I wanted to try the Big D burger but I'll save that for when I'm up for it and not in a rush. I ate it there, kinda outdated like a foster freeze type decor but clean enough to eat there. My burger did its job, not bad but nothing special. The fries however were very underwhelming and I found myself leaving most of them behind. The workers were really cool and it got kinda busy when we were leaving but it's not quite the traditional burger joint I was hoping it would be. I made sure to eat everything (with the exception of the cookie) bc it cost me upwards of $30. The pros: good quality ingredients served fresh, friendly servers. Burger had good flavor with Canadian bacon and avocado. The cons: Everything was al la carte which made for a more expensive lunch. Cookie was crunchy and not very edible. Ratio of ingredients to price was low: the burger had a skinny patty, one pineapple slice and there was more bun leftover. Having ordered from Big D through Door Dash, I wanted to experience dining at this establishment. We went in last Saturday (09/21/24) and, despite only a few guests enjoying their meals, were completely ignored by the staff. There was absolutely no one else at the counter, nor dining indoors, yet the employee behind the counter looked at us and never said a word. It has been at least ten years since I made my way back to my favorite burger place and I just knew they were going to find a way to change their buns, meat or something! Nahhhhhhhhh homie. This is a small business that has continuously stayed true to their delicious recipes. The buns are soft (wink wink), meat is tender with a nice flavor. Cheesy is perfectly melted, lettuce is crunchy! Not that soggy refrigerated sloppy cabbage lettuce. I knew it was fate when my three stacks ordered ANOTHER burger after he finished the first one. Honest review I'd give the place 6.5/10 customer service was good, walked in place was empty gentleman cooking welcomed us and said he'd be right with us. Looked over the menu and as others stated it's a bit pricey but everything is going up. We ordered the Hawaiian Avocado cheese burger, jalapeño avocado burger added bacon, curly fries onion rings and 20pc calamari. This place has been around for decades, before Napa was "sophisticated ". The restaurant and prices are a throwback to Napa's "blue collar" roots. There aren't many places where in Napa where you can get a decent burger and fries for $12, Big D's for the win! In addition to burgers, they have turkey burgers, hot dogs, fish and chips, fried chicken, grilled cheese, and even tuna fish sandwiches. They also have a large selection of smoothies. This is absolutely not good. I was in Napa because a coworker invited me to an event he was promoting as a side gig. I figured I should eat something before I went to the event, and while driving, I saw this. I don't really know the Napa area, but I didn't want to drive too far from the event, so I came here. The fries were just way too salty. It was pretty clear the fries came from a store's frozen section, because it was way too salty. The same could definitely be said about the onion rings.
