We have used Josh & Lacey twice now. The first time, just before the crazy storms in 2024, we needed to get 4 large Mesquite trees thinned out. Though not the lowest price they gave us the confidence they knew what they were doing and wouldn't just aimlessly cut branches, instead they considered the health of the trees and how to thin them while still providing shade coverage. Josh and Lacy also gave us tips on maintaining them and other plants in our yard. This time, we had just bought a new home and there was a large tree in the side yard that we wanted to take out as it was to close to the house and the wall, besides looking like it was dying. Their quote was inline with others, and we already knew the quality of their work so it was a no brainer in selecting them again. In both cases, they cleaned up so well, we feel the yard was probably cleaner than when they started. Josh & Lacey brought my neglected yard back to its former beauty, and then some. They were attentive in discussing my needs and the best way to approach the overall design. There had been flooding incidents and they addressed that with a drainage system and demonstrated its efficiency. The drip irrigation system was really placed well so there's regular moisture for the plants. After one week, none of them have been stressed, in fact they're putting on new growth. I loved the selection of plants and how they worked for the different functional areas of the yard. They brought to life the feeling I wanted for the garden. Although we did not go with Hercs Works it had nothing to do with our confidence that they would do a wonderful job on trimming our trees and shrubs. They came out on time to give us an estimate, it was very fair, and clearly knew exactly what our property needed. The only reason we chose another landscaper was the weed control factor. Hercs isn't licensed for weed control and to use a 3rd party would have been expensive. That is the only reason we did not use them. It was a very difficult decision and just going by our experience when they came out to give us an estimate I would definitely recommend them. read more

I had been having lots of trouble finding someone willing to help remove a very tall and very dead pine tree from my front yard. It was not only 40 feet high but it had a massive trunk which made it difficult. Josh & Lacey came out right away to look at it, gave me more than a fair price, and came out the same week to remove it. They cut it to the height I asked for, and even cleaned up all the pinecones and debris. These two were wonderful. They trimmed and thinned out one of my trees that looked sick. Rather than trimming to look like a lion tail, they used proper techniques, resulting in a much healthier tree. The leaves have returned greener than ever with new branch growth too. We had several large stumps that needed to be removed from our side yard. They were in close proximity to the house and yard wall, in a hard to work location. I had an appointment scheduled today for palm tree trimming. At the time I made the appointment everything was confirmed by the owner the process. So husband and wife team were coming to trim the tree. There was a 3 week wait and I was happy about this. So this morning I got a confirmation from them and approved it. About 6 hours later before arrival I got a message from them saying it was not a good time to do this due to the fact it was not a good month to do it. Many other excuses followed. I feel we should have been informed of this sooner. Very disappointing and not reliable. I also feel more honest reviews should be posted instead of the good ones. Maybe due to the fact they are a two person team they are over scheduled. Would not recommend. read more

After two days of work, This was left behind because they advised they had reached their hours work limit? I never agreed on an hourly wage. When this business bids for a job, They should advise potential clients of a perceived hourly rate. I also paid for an extra dump load I was unaware of during this clean up. Hercs helped me with the removal of two large mesquite trees in my front yard. I had obtained four bids for the job. That process alone was quite revealing, I wish I could share. That said, Hercs demonstrated their professionalism, responsiveness and winning general demeanor towards their clients. Hercs did everything right and they were open to requests of mine that other companies had suggested. These were nothing major, such as possibly placing a tarp over the garage windows, but I appreciated Herc's receptiveness to the suggestion. I will admit that Hercs was not the cheapest. In fact , they were the most expensive. However, they were also the best from start to finish. The other companies essentially disqualified themselves either through their customer service, refusal to actually perform the task asked of them or utter lack of communication. Hercs allowed me to rest and relax knowing the job would be done well, completed as agreed and without a problem. You get what you pay for and Hercs was the best from my experience.
