Tidy Up is a fairly new landscaping company. It is unfortunate that some people who have a company think they can put a sign on a door or on their car and will be successful.
It takes a great deal to start, run, and keep a company. You need a purpose, product, target customer base, and plan to develop. You need a business plan, do marketing research, business name, business structure, and business location. You also need funding and well trained employees. You also need honesty, integrity, and take pride in your work.
When I first was introduced to the owner, by the way he spoke about his company, I thought he was the real deal. I was quickly dissappointed.
The services we asked them to provide, which they agreed to, was to blow the yard, rake the rocks, pull weeds, remove debris from under the Texas Rangers, and trim any sprigs that are coming off of the branches and limbs of the trees. This was for both the front, side, and backyard. They were in agreement that they could do all of that and we agreed on a price as well as length of time these services and price would be in affect.
The first time they came to perform these landscaping duties they did a great job. The second time was very poorly done. They failed to rake the rocks and none of the debris under the Texas Rangers was cleaned up. When I approached them with my concerns and recommendations to rectify the situation they didn't want to hear any of it, but pretended to fix the situation. When they left, those areas of concern were still in need of attention.
I waited a little while before scheduling the next appointment and to give them another chance. When I finally did, I was then advised that their rates had increased and they would only be available on a certain day in our area.
It is common business practices to notify their customers at least 30 days in advance when any type of policy and/or rate changes occur.
I don't mind that their rates increase or their days for coming in the area had changed. My problem with them is the fact that they did not notify us within a timely manner so we could determine whether or not the relationship needed to continue.
Plus we had made an agreement and had a contract that stated otherwise for a period of time that would have extended beyond their policy change. They should have honored that or at least given us the opportunity to discuss.
As a business you should always be open to any type of concerns especially if they are legitimate concerns as this allows you to grow and have room for improvement and be the best that you can be. read more
