Sadly, the current rating is not reflective of new owners. While friendly, the food was mediocre. It was clear my half bbq chicken was reheated from the day before. The ribs were okay. Their coleslaw was very fresh. The restaurant is tired and old... sometimes great if the bbq raged as a 5 star. One of my measures of restaurants is the bathroom - didn't meet might standard if cleanliness but it was ok. I was excited for great bbq based on the reviews and rating. Like the restaurant, it was dated.

Chicken nuggets, beets with onions, and mashed potatoes with gravy.
Kathy M.

The chicken nuggets are all white meat, real chunks of chicken breast, no dark meat and certainly not chopped and processed food supply nuggets. The seasoning on the chicken nuggets is flavorful and tastes great, unlike any flavor that you can get anywhere else. The nuggets are cooked to perfection and moist, not dry. The mashed potatoes and gravy are always piping hot, so you need to remove the lid to let them cool off. The potatoes taste like instant potatoes and not homemade but are good. Fries are cooked to perfection, and the pickled beets with onions are my favorite, they have just the right amount of vinegar and are so tasty. It is a casual place to eat, I see most people pick up take out. You order at the counter and they have about 8-10 booths in an adjoining room and they will bring your food in to you on a tray.

Got the chicken, in the Chinese take-out container, in the bag, I love it.

Such a solid place to get fried chicken! Super simple fried chicken to-go joint that we have here. I was only able to try their fried chicken as well, it's what they're known for and now I know why! It's so good! Crispy, tender and juicy with no excess grease. It's not the most unique or special fried chicken but it's very comforting, simple and no surprise type fried chicken. I'm saying this in a good way. They were very quick with my order, the staff was also very friendly. This place is litterally a hole in the wall towards the end of a not so busy and small plaza. I see this as that simple, solid and reliable place to get fried chicken. I'd get this over KFC any day of the week. Overall, like I said, solid chicken spot we have here. Great job.

Box of chicken gizzards and livers.

Good place to try chicken gizzards and chicken livers. The chicken pieces were pleasantly salty. Rustic place in the Dollar Tree plaza. Our dinner was "takeout", would have been a bonus if they would have included napkins.

More bad lettuce

Like many many others I have been going here for many many years and unfortunately as I feared when the new owners (KFC?) came in slowly the staff changed and now so has the food. For the first time in a decade plus I ordered some fried chicken and soon after I finished my meal I felt sick! Was the chicken fresh I dont know...but Sadly I most likely will not ever be beck again! Then again maybe it was bad lettuce!

The man behind the bar and a very polite server told us there was another entrance but brought us through and seated us at a table. Our son insisted on starting with the wings. I tried one and was impressed. It was cooked crispy and the chicken was juicy. We ended up finding a few pieces with issues and they were quickly replaced with a new batch. We tried the pulled pork & brisket. My son and I preferred the brisket while my husband liked the pulled pork. Many great sauces were shared. The super nice waitress told us which was which, but honestly they were both good.

You…read moredon't need to travel to Kentucky for this Bourbon style pit BBQ cuisine but if you close your eyes, you'll think you have. The pork belly burnt ends with collard greens and cornbread has become my favorite. The flavors of each item is stellar but together in one bite? Explosive in the best ways. Strong family vibes and friendly staff give you a real sense of south/western hospitality. I've personally been there a half dozen times and the consistency of their amazing choices never disappoints. The prices are VERY reasonable as many great options (like my favorite) can be scored for under $20 a plate. We also didn't wait long for a seat and our food came out quick and obviously fresh and made to order. Load up the family and bring a big appetite! This is a great place to make yourself at home and "sit a spell."

We had planned to go somewhere else but it was late on a Saturday night and that place was busy so…read morewe last minute pivoted to here. Upon arriving we'd realized we'd eaten at this restaurant before (when it was in a different location) and eaten in this building before (when it was a different business). Caesar salad appetizer was excellent. Kids Mac and cheese was maybe one of the best Mac and cheeses we'd ever had, kids or not. And it was great as a pizza topping. My wife and I split a wagyu burger and The Craft Pie. The burger we believe we got someone else's, it was missing the espresso aioli and prosciutto jam. It wasn't until we finished it that we realized it was way different than we expected. The pizza was excellent however. I could have done without the pears but so many other flavors that were excellent, though the real winner was the sour cherries. I'd come back again just for this pizza.

A friend of mine and I went to Craft Kitchen for lunch on this Thursday…read more There was plenty of parking to the right of the restaurant, and the side entrance was right there. As I walked through the front doors, I noticed kegs alongside on the floor. This was kind of a turn off, kind of reminds me of a dive bar. So my mentality kicked in that we were going into a dive bar serving food. I kinda get the sketchy feeling. Once we were seated, and menus placed, we were served iced water A few minutes later, the server came back and took our order. My friend ordered a cheeseburger with lettuce, tomato, and some string french fries. I ordered the 1/2 smoked chicken, which came with two sides. I chose the rattlesnake beans and the creamy macaroni and cheese. Also include included was cornbread I originally wanted the street corn, as a side, but it was not available. Our lunches came quick, and my friend only ate half the french fries and cheeseburger, as she wasn't really turned on by them. The smoked chicken was fairly dry, with a very interesting smoked flavor to it that I can't put my finger on. I eat about 1/3 of it. Left the rest on the plate. The creamy macaroni and cheese was out of bounds top-notch. I could've eaten this all day. The rattlesnake rice and beans were just OK. The rice was cooked pretty good, and was seasoned well. The beans had a weird taste. Now thinking of this side dish, I was hoping for raw onions to be on top, but they were nowhere to be found. It'll be nice if there was chopped raw onions to go with this. The cornbread was delicious. I ate about half of it. It was a generous slice. While the server was fairly attentive, as she only checked in to fill the water glasses and ask how lunch was. She didn't ask us if we wanted a desert or coffee. Being old folks this would've been a great up for us, but it didn't happen. I had to ask for the check. I'm not sure if I would come back. I think this might be a one and done. The vibe just didn't hit it for me. Restrooms were clean. The restaurant was clean; the silverware clean. I don't know. It just was like a funky type layout and those beer kegs kinda sent the wrong tone to me as a guest. Lunch for the two of us was $40 and change and I left a $10 tip. We didn't have any cocktails or mock tails, we didn't have coffee or dessert either. From what I understand, the owner was near the exit when we left, not even a smile or a thank you for coming in...

First time coming to this bar and will have to say this is a hidden gem. Michaela was at the bar…read moreand she did an amazing job. She kept conversation going, was quick with the drinks and made sure we got our food order right before the kitchen closed. I came in not knowing the wings are on sale, so I opted in for the garlic Parmesan and the Nashville hot dry rub. These wings are definitely on my top 5 places to go for wings! They were full of meat, flavor and were very crispy! We also got the strawberry limeade which came with sour patch strawberries. I will definitely come back as the vibes were chill and the service was great

My sons and I are in search for hidden wing gems throughout the state. Yes, we love J.Tim's,…read moreappreciate the local flair of O-Joe's (both locations), and even admire the smoked wings in an around Torrington. Someone gave me the tip to try these as he thought they would "compete" with the aforementioned. For the first 5 min of my visit, I thought it might be the case. Here are the reasons to ABSOLUTELY GO!!!!! Even if a 30-45 min drive. 1) SERVICE - simply fantastic. Huge thanks to Destiny and the kitchen for making my experience great. 2) ATMOSPHERE - THIS IS the place I want to come to watch the games, for the long haul in the fall or playoff time! Great lighting. Music gives way to the game. Locals. Golf and bowling games. You name it. Fantastic. 3) THEIR BLUE CHEESE - unique. Delicious. Clearly house made. Makes the wing experience better. Here are the reasons I would only go if convenient: 1) THE FOOD - My chili to start only said beef chili on the menu. On first bite, there was a stinging salty taste of BACON. I have no problem eating bacon, but should say it on the menu for those who do not. And, that flavor profile is not what chili evokes. 2) THE WINGS - when the blue cheese and veggies came out, I was almost hyperventilating with excitement. The wings then came. Huge let down. Without going into the subtleties of the sauces, I'm more focused on deciding if they were frozen-pre-breaded wings or fresh wings with a salty/shake and bake coating on them. They're huge. They're crispy (kitchen is good). They're just not a traditional wing (should also say coated on the menu). 3) THEIR OIL - one of my wings was a delicious lemon pepper dry rub. So much promise. So crispy. Then, the flavor transfer hit. They must have fried fish on the menu. Same/old fry oil So my wings without a sauce (dry rub) tasted faintly of fried cod. Gross. I will go back. I liked the staff and feel enough. It could be fun. But it's not the hidden wing Mecca I will continue to search for. Service, feel, blue cheese earn all the stars.
