I ordered THE sandwich combo with mild spice, mac & cheese, and of course banana pudding for desert. My sandwich was so juicy, tender, and crunchy! It was perfectly topped with just the right amount of coleslaw, pickles and rob sauce. I got the mac & cheese without spice just to try it, and honestly wasn't impressed. While very creamy, the cheese left a funny after taste I didn't like. Now the banana pudding on the other hand, that was amazing! It reminded me of southern style banana pudding with hints of cinnamon. My husband picked up the order for me. It was ready quickly and the servers were very friendly from what he said. I've lived in North Haven for 2.5 years and finally tried hot chicken for the first time at Haven Hot Chicken. I went with the mild sandwich, and it was very good! To me, it tasted like a perfect blend of Chick-fil-A and Popeyes--great texture with excellent crunch, and the chicken was moist and full of flavor. The fries were just okay; the crunchier ones were tasty, but they were mixed with some softer, less crispy pieces. The banana pudding was a nice treat too--definitely good. What really stood out was the exceptional staff. They were super friendly and even gave me some complimentary items since it was my first time trying hot chicken. That's fantastic customer service and great business! The only downsides: The place is very small, so don't plan on sitting down to eat if you're with more than one person (it's mostly takeout vibes). Also, the pricing feels expensive--the sandwich alone is $13.49, and adding the combo (with fries and a drink) bumps it up another $4.75. On the bright side, there are plenty of fries to share with someone else. The chicken was delicious, juicy on the inside while crisp on the outside (perhaps better than Raising Cane's, and I ate it after driving an hour home!), the second-hottest sauce was hot enough to leave my mouth happy and the rest of me [censored due to gross content], and when I asked for extra pickles, they did not disappoint. I was ready to give them five stars and tell the whole world about how great they are. And then came the texts. Immediately, I got one saying my order is ready. Thanks, I appreciate that! When I get home, I find a three-question survey. Okay, cool. I work as a manager in the customer service industry. I know firsthand the value of customer feedback. I fill out the survey honestly and laud what they did right (which was basically everything). The next morning, I get an invitation to their rewards program. All right. No harm done. They don't have a location near me, but I'm out this way a lot. Let's do it. Two days later. Not one day later. TWO days later: I get a text asking me to answer six more questions about my chicken experience. We are now up to four texts, two emails (already unsubscribed), and now they want to ask me nine questions about two chicken tenders. I'm glad I didn't get a three-piece order, or I'd have 50% more questions to answer about "my chicken experience." Congratulations, Haven Hot Chicken. Your psychopathic marketing team has turned what would have been your biggest fan into a strong detractor. One manager to another: your manager should be fired for this. The Not Chicken Sandwich, a crispy fried cauliflower steak sandwich is simply genius. Topped with slaw, garlic-full pickles and their Rob sauce and heat level choice. I have had Medium and Hot. They are not playing around when it comes to spice. The people I was with during my last visit got Country style which isn't spicy at all. They got The Sandwich and Tendie Trio. I do think ordering a combo gives you more bang for your buck. It comes with a can of soda and choice of side. I recommend either french fries, mac and cheese, or banana pudding. I normally opt for mac and cheese, but I got the Banana Puddin' my last visit. I heard rave reviews about the Banana Puddin' so I had to investigate the hype. It was delicious and don't sleep on it... Seriously. Layered with Vanilla pudding, Nilla wafers, slices of sweet banana, and a generous dollop of whipped cream. I really enjoyed the warm spices like cinnamon that played throughout. The one item on Haven Hot Chicken's menu I think you should skip is the Chicken and Waffles. My husband ordered this our very first time trying them and it wasn't worth it at all. Two tenders served with two small waffles. The waffles looked and tasted like the ones you buy at Costco. Now that you've been warned, stick to ordering the tendies and sandwiches! The service is always quick since it's designed for takeout. There are very few seats available to eat at the establishment. Good place to get some grub if the grub you are looking for is some breaded chicken, tenders or a chicken sandwich. Their menu isn't super huge, simply the basics. I tried their garlic parm sandwich which wasn't too bad but I believe their, "the chicken," was my preferred option. Good breading, juicy, thick. I wasn't big on their mac and cheese, but everything else was good. This place is super small and probably has 5 seats or less in the establishment as well but looks clean and they were efficient. This place has a sort of small parking lot, but it has always been doable when I've come for a bite. If you are into Starbucks, there's one right next to it. It's the best hot chicken ...it's almost so close to the one I had in Nashville and have been dreaming about since. I'm so glad they have that right here in CT now. It's a quick service restaurant... good for takeout. I didn't see that they had any seating options though I read some reviews that they had limited seating for dine in. Know for their hot chicken..the spice rage is from country (no-heat) to haven(for the hot heads). The menu items include sandwiches, tenders, sliders, chicken and waffles and snacks like fries, garlic dill pickles, Mac and cheese... banana pudding. We had a single tendi (haven- which is the highest on the heat scale) it's a single jumbo tender on a slice of white bread (lol, you'll soon see why you need a slice of white bread) with garlic dill pickles. The chicken itself was cooked to perfection... crispy, juicy and tender... it was soooo... good! The heat level, honestly I could handle it (I am used to eating spicy food) ... Inspite of it I still felt the burning sensation all around my mouth ..for almost an hr after... so definitely use caution!! Don't forget to get the fries + rob sauce (yum)... you will thank me. I chose medium ( proper spicy), which was good, but I'd go up a level next time. I enjoyed the slider. I just wish it had more slaw on it. I barely tasted it. Really great to see Haven Hot Chicken expanding in CT, we appreciate that the chicken here is halal since there aren't many halal hot chicken places nearby. The North Haven location is clean and the staff is friendly. It's small inside and has some window seating, but definitely more of a takeout spot. There is plenty of parking in the plaza. I have eaten at their newest location in North Haven twice. Food is extremely fresh. Chicken is very tasty. I have had the sandwich as well as the tenders trio country style (no spice). I have also ordered their Not Chicken Nugs, which is fried cauliflower. Also very good, but a bit too soft for me. I will definitely order them again to see if they were slightly over cooked the first time or if this is how they intend them to be. Their coleslaw is good. Their fries are excellent and very plentiful. The first time I had their mac & cheese it was out of this world, but the second time it was disappointing. I had placed my order through the ToastTab app and afterward I was asked to rate my experience. Heard good things about Haven Chicken and tried it out today. Ordered southern tenders (no spice) a mild spicy sandwich and medium tenders to get an idea of the heat levels and flavors. Everything was delicious. The mild gave you just enough of a tingle to bring the spices out and the medium is right there with good medium buffalo level. All fresh, made to order cooked just right and the crunch on all the flavors was awesome. Mac n cheese was creamy and flavorful as well. Plenty of crunchy pickles on the sandwich and on the side. Let me start by saying my experience at Heaven, Hot Chicken was not a good one. They were very busy with a large take-out order,and about 10 people waiting for orders. After about 15 min my order came out, got to my car, and noticed the order was wrong. I went back in and the gentleman knew the order was a mistake, and replaced the order. When the order came out for the second time I noticed I didn't get any fries. He then gave me the fries. I got back to the car, and instead of getting a sandwich, and a tendie slider I got two tendie sliders. At that point I gave up. Also this place has no seating you either eat in your car or take it home. Ok now let's talk food. The chicken was nice and juicy with a great crispy spicy batter.
