Overrated! First, was seated outside on a cold rainy night. Food was OK. Ordered the yuca balls appetizer but did not know they had cheese. My wife has trouble digesting dairy. No steak sauce for the steak sandwich. My wife's broccoli tasted different than an earlier visit. Our server had too large an area & I never got a refill on my lemonade. Bill was $65 with tip. Finally, asked for a printed copy of our final bill & never got it. read more

**FIFTH STAR EARNED FOR CONSISTENCY!** For me, I am not surprised Hemingway's Tavern has earned its fifth star for consistency. Reason I say that is because all the restaurants in Long Doggers Eateries Inc. I have been to are excellent. I am even willing to wager all the Long Doggers I haven't been to would be perfect scores over time given that the majority of their restaurants I have been AND they have perfect scores. With that in mind, Hemingway's Tavern is one of two unique restaurants outside of Long Doggers under the restaurant group, the other being Meg O'Malley's. After multiple other visits which includes the opening of their take-out window/area, Hemingway's Tavern is not only consistent, but they have improved. My favorites from them are their crab and conch cakes, conch soup, Cuban sandwich, and key lime pie. Please note I did not say they had the best of the best of any of the foods listed on the Space Coast or anywhere in general, BUT their food is consistently delicious abeit not being the best, still more than satisfactory. As one of the restaurants under Long Doggers Eateries, I cannot say enough how much I want people to try them out. P.S. - Previous review is still in effect as is. This is my must-go-to spot in Melbourne. Everything from the service to signature cocktail and main dishes were incredible! To start my bubbly bartender, Cassandra, made me a Key Lime martini and oh my was it decadent! Creamy, slight tangy and refreshing, this is the epitome of dessert in a Graham cracker rimmed glass. I absolutely loved the Key West Bowl with super tender and juicy mojo pulled pork wit chimichurri sauce and pineapple salsa over jasmine rice ! It was savory, sweet and a hearty portion. The fried plantains were a little mushy, but still good. The only thing I would have enjoyed better would be to have the plantains cooked a, server My fiancé kept saying how the linguini carbonara with blackened chicken was some of the best carbonara he's had in a long time! The caramelized onions were perfect and the blackened chicken was tender while adding a kick to the dish. It has a fun, relaxed environment with a big bar and plenty of tables, but there is usually a wait - so consider making a reservation. Will definitely be back next time we're in the area! read more

They're smoked then fried perfect flavor of smokiness and the flavors were perfectly balanced. Truffle Fries: I don't believe there's a lot of description needed because afterall they're Truffle fries, they were crispy outside and soft inside. Beignets: So light and fluffy with the right amount of crisp on the outside, dare I say, they were better than the ones I had in New Orleans....there said it! Had a early birthday dinner here. It was our first time and found it to be a quaint spot and very active place. Has a bar area that seemed to be bustling. Your choice of indoor /outdoor seating. We loved that they had the typical "ventanita" (side window) for a quick cafecito. Our meals were all delicious, and their pork dishes seemed to have a house flavor I had never tried before. It was neither too BBQ nor the typical lime and garlic flavor. But a cross between smoky and slight sweetness. I believe they have their on Guava concoction for seating the pork. It was very tasty and left you wanting more. We did not have dessert , but their display of guava cheesecakes and flan left us knowing we will be back soon! read more

This place sits in the corner of a beautiful lot with massive established trees and hanging Spanish moss. The servers have always been good and the food is worth a trip. I had a great chorizo melt and there were plenty of vegetarian and gluten free options on the menu. Dessert is fantastic, featuring an authentic key lime pie and tropical cheesecakes. Went here per recommendation of our local hotel staff. Wish we would've taken pictures but here is the verdict. 1. Cheese bread bites - this reminds me of the bread they serve at Texas de Brazil. The aioli served with the bread was delish. 2. Guac and plantain chips - this has to be some of the best Guac I've tried. The plantain chips were so solid and fresh. If sharing this app, I'd suggest asking for extra chips. They give you about 5-6 but you could use more for the amount of guacamole served. 3. Caesar salad - I'd suggest skipping this. Was a good salad but it's a bit overpriced for what you'll receive. Think of one of those bougie Caesar salads that has full pieces of romaine and isn't fully chopped. 4. Cubano sandwich - this sandwich was awesome, well toasted, perfect flavor and everything we'd expect from this type of sandwich. Coleslaw was pretty meh so if you can upgrade, I'd suggest paying extra for something else (unless you're a diehard coleslaw lover). 5. Bread pudding - very rich, comes with about 5 pieces that have plenty of Carmel, condensed milk and whipped cream. Great desert choice if you have a sweet tooth. This place is so cool. I have been there at least six times. My favorite dish is the garden stack on coconut bread. We start off with appetizers. The smoked fish dip, the conch fritters are huge and loaded with conch. We have also tried the portabella mushroom burger with a side of cole slaw and their delicious french fries. Done perfectly. We arrived at 2pm and it magically was Happy Hour! Their advertised Happy hour times differ from at the restaurant. Not sure if it is a Tuesday thing. We started off with the beef empanadas. Then I ordered the special which was a lobster pasta. It was divine. We also ordered the truffle fries. Who can refuse truffle anything!! The other members of my party ordered grilled shrimp And added it to a salad. The other got an entire snapper with rice. I had 2 key lime martinis because they were that good! It was desert in a glass! I took food home and was too full to eat desert. The other guests had expresso martinis. I cannot wait to return next time I am in town. read more

I went to Hemmingway's this afternoon and met up with 11 lady friends for lunch. We were seated on the patio. It was a hot afternoon, but we accepted the seating in order to avoid an hour wait. When it came time to order, I had my eyes set on a lobster roll and ordered it. I have had these delicious rolls before, but when my plate was put before me, I was very disappointed, but decided to give it a try. The roll was toasted and lightly filled with a few greens and pieces of what appeared to be overcooked lobster meat. I am used to and expected a lobster salad with lobster meat mixed with a delicious aioli and aromatics. What I received was nothing like that, but a roll with "naked" lobster. I must say that the lobster was ok even though it was cooked beyond reason. Hemmingway's is one of my favorites, but lobster rolls are not on their top menu items. I do not recommend them. Go for a burger or sandwich instead. read more

Deein, our waiter, was wonderful to our party of 4! Yes we went for the food, the Tuesday margarita specials , great covered outdoor seating and very convenient private parking lot, however meeting Deein was an extra special bonus. He was extremely professional, pleasant, accommodating all of our needs and very attentive. The margarita was delicious. Our varied selections of food went just as well. We had the Cuban sandwich , a steak sandwich with side salad , house salad and a special which was a Chimichanga slightly deep fried with tender meat, rice, cheese and plantains that was not greasy and very tasty. Portions were excellent with nice flavors and not salty nor greasy. I even got an order of their plantain sweet bread pudding to go for a snack later and the half for breakfast. Their dessert case is right across from front door and you can engage with the dessert staff which can be very useful when making your decision. They were very happy to engage with customers. The bread pudding came with a caramel sauce, a delicious creamy white sauce that had a nice hint of vanilla and whipped cream all packed individually so you can choose your own toppings to drizzle or just eat plain because it is just that good! The bread is a combo of Cuban and Coconut Bread. Comes warm but delicious cold out the refrigerator next day or a quick microwave reheat. Deein didn't rush us either. We did arrive by 4 PM and left at 5:30. Have been there a few times now over the past year but this is a first review. Always consistently good food and professional waitstaff. You can tell everyone is trained in great customer service from the moment you are greeted to be seated to your exiting the premises. It's refreshing. Wish other establishments would follow in your footsteps. PS. I even attended a gals birthday c elaboration and they accommodated all 12 of us! Anyway, me and my friends LOVE this cheerful and very well-run restaurant and bar. The menu offers an expansive selection of meal options, from appetizers to soup & salads, sandwiches (including Cubans), to main dishes. I love their Grilled Garden Stack, Conch Fritters with island remoulade, and Smoked Fish Dip with house-made plantain chips! SOOOO GOOD! They have seasonal drink offers for holidays, seasonal food specials such as Lobster Fest (ran for 6 weeks during the height of lobster season in the Kays) and of course, daily happy hour food and drinks.
