My husband and I dined for lunch today for the first time and I have to say we were blown away by how delicious our meal was. The restaurant is so cool inside and the service was amazing. Server explained the scratch kitchen concept and a little about their history and offered his suggestions. I enjoyed the Coco Grouper Sandwich which is coconut encrusted grouper with their homemade key line tartar sauce, arugula, house slaw, red onion on a fresh ciabatta roll. My husband ordered the Hot Honey Fried Chicken Sandwich with cheddar cheese, red onion, cowboy candy and hot honey. Both came with Boardwalk fries that were fresh and hot and crisped to perfection. They gave us a side of the garlic aolie sauce to try and it was good if you like that kind of dipping sauce. We thoroughly enjoyed every bite and would not change a thing for our order. The sandwiches were amazing and we highly recommend. Not sure what it took us so long to check this place out after moving to Viera last summer but we will definitely be back. Visited 28 North after a work event with a group of 12. We were seated immediately outside with a table already ready to go. Server had waters ready which was great. Outdoor area is really pretty in the middle of the town center with a small park area nearby. Drink orders seemed to take unreasonably long, say 20-30 minutes once ordered, with a couple folks being skipped who didn't get to order until everyone else's drink finally came. Finally able to order food at that point. Appetizers came out probably 30min later and then main courses took another hour.... we were all seated by 6pm and food finally came around 8pm. My cowboy steak sandwich and the appetizers were all amazing and tasted great! My review would be 5 stars if the wait hadn't been so painful. No apologies or explanation from the staff. While we waited for a table, I found myself watching the kitchen line and caught a glimpse of a glorious Hot Honey Fried Chicken Sandwich. I'm so glad I tried it and would recommend. I visited that place today to celebrate my sister's birthday. The waitress took my order, but what bothered me was that the staff seemed completely indifferent. In the end, I cancelled my order because everyone else at the table had already finished eating. When they brought out the dessert, they only provided four plates for sharing--even though there were seven of us. I think they could certainly improve the service they offer, but I don't think I'll be returning to this restaurant. read more

I only got the Poke Tuna and it looked beautiful and the sauces on it were delicious. But when I got it, I noticed that the tuna was very dark. I get this item a lot of times from other restaurants and I have never seen it quite that dark. But I was in a hurry so I ate it in about halfway through, I was starting to feel nauseous, but didn't think anything of it. As the hours went on, I got more and more ill. By six hours, I was sicker than a dog. Since it was the only thing I ate, I can only guess that it came from that. It's unfortunate. Because I can tell that they really do care about their dishes. Maybe it's just an item they don't sell a lot of so the fish doesn't get turned fast enough. But I heard from other guests while I was sitting there that their food was delicious so I'm guessing that they do have great food. Craft cocktail menu has a variety of options for any gin, vodka, bourbon or rum lover. I had the fig mojito which was very refreshing , at first it was a tad too sweet but after adding some club soda it was perfect. My husband and I split the Mexican nachos, seafood risotto and fruit /cheese charcuterie board. Food was 10/10. Service 10/10, server very attentive and anticipated our needs throughout. Pleasantly surprised by this local scratch "bar". The waitress explained the concept of the establishment, history, and name sake. She was very knowledgeable of the menu and made a few great recommendations. I made a meal out of the Cuban nachos and crispy brussels off the shareable menu. Because it was our first visit were where presented by the manager a glass of champagne, like who even does that! So many delicious dishes to try we have since been back. We came once before and the food was fantastic. I forgot to review then. We made reservations for 10:30 on a Sunday this time with a party of 7. Only 6 ended up coming and they weren't rude about it. Our table ordered the French toast, 2 kids cheeseburgers with fruit, the hog breakfast sliders, and the western omelette. One of us had a Diet Coke and it tasted off so they switched out the syrup and it was much better. They were so nice about it. They actually knocked it off the bill and we weren't even angry or rude just thought something was off. The food was so good! I ordered the fruit with the kids cheeseburgers and I was so relieved it was berries- instead of the cheaper melons that you get elsewhere. The hog breakfast sliders were PERFECT! I loved the sauce on it. Greg - our server- was so attentive and super sweet. I had requested for a quieter area of the restaurant and they sat us in a booth and because it was early they kind of seated people every other table so it was definitely a pleasant experience. Inside is like a nice upscale pub. I like that it's not near the busiest places at the mall so parking isn't a headache most times. Lovely spot in Viera! After doing some shopping we decided to pop in to beat the heat and get a drink and some bites. I was pleasantly surprised with their incredible beer selection, tons of great Florida breweries and styles to choose from. We shared a French onion poutine and spicy albondigas and both were wonderful! Servings were generous. I will say that the temperature of the poutine was a bit inconsistent but we stepped in after a pretty intense lunch rush, and they were still delicious. The service was excellent, from host stand to our server, everyone was friendly and constantly checking up on how we were doing. I highly recommend stoping by 28 North if you want a great mix of unique flavors and a diverse and thoughtfully selected drink menu. read more

While the food at this restaurant is good, the overall experience was deeply frustrating due to a complete lack of organization. First and foremost, our server Lewis was outstanding. He was professional, kind, and incredibly resilient while being placed in an impossible situation that was entirely not his fault. Watching him repeatedly have to return to the table to explain that yet another wine we ordered was unavailable was uncomfortable--not because of him, but because the restaurant failed him. There were two of us dining, and we ordered one of the top-shelf wines listed on the menu, a $100 bottle of Stag's Leap. It was out of stock. On the menu, the "nice" wine options are extremely limited, with a huge and unreasonable price gap: one bottle at $100 and the next at $190, with nothing in between. The only other alternatives were cheap bottles that you could buy at a grocery store for around $10, which felt inappropriate for the quality of food being served. We then ordered another $100 bottle from a different wine list--also out of stock. A third attempt, a $70 bottle--out of stock again. At this point, every quality wine we attempted to order simply was not available. This is unacceptable inventory management and does a serious disservice to both the guests and the waitstaff. What made this worse were the excuses given. We were told the person in charge of wine ordering was too focused on an event to pay attention to restocking. That explanation is invalid and frankly disturbing. If you're offering wines at these price points, they should actually exist. With firsthand exposure to a very successful local restaurant, it's difficult to justify a $190 price point for Nickel & Nickel, particularly when it's positioned as the only premium option Because of this chaos, we didn't even get to order a bottle of wine until we had already finished our meal. Only after Lewis personally called the person responsible did a bottle suddenly "miraculously" appear. To summarize: the food was great, Lewis was exceptional, but the wine program and organization were a mess. No server should be left feeling embarrassed and helpless because of poor management. read more

This was our second visit here and I'm so pleased to say it was just as good as we remembered it being. To start we got the Asian nachos which had so much flavor and depth, they really were a perfect start. Drink wise I went with the sweet potato fries... I'm a sucker for ube and jt was so unique and complex all in one, I really enjoyed it. The star of the show was my entree. I got the bistro filet that comes pimento grits and broccolini, my goodness was it delicious. I did wish the Cajun butter came a little more melted but I sliced it up and laid it stop the grits and it melted in nicely. My husband got the we meat again sandwich. My father had the snapper dish and said he would highly recommend as well. The fact that they have an in house pastry chef here is so very cool. 5 stars - Cuban nachos: pile of crispy plantain chips that were thin but just thick enough to carry the tender pulled pork. The gruyere bechamel sauce was delectable and I sopped that up as much as I could. Pickles were thin cut triangles and lightly pickled to add just a bit of tang and slices of avocado to mellow it out. I'm not a mustard gal so we got that on the side. 4.25 stars - Brussel sprouts: charred tossed in a sweet Thai chili sauce was unctuous in a good way. 4 stars - Fries: double fried, good size, hot, and delicious. 4.5 stars - Steak sandwich: my son enjoyed the thin steak on a sliced baguette. 4.3 stars - Beef empanadas: tasty and crunchy exterior but flavors more like a ground beef samosa without potato dressed up like an empanada. 3 stars - Staff: from the waitress to beverage manager to the pastry chef, all were super friendly to come talk with us and made the experience even more enjoyable. - Cocktails: pretty good, a lot of fruity types you expect around here plus things like an old fashioned with a large whiskey/bourbon list. - Wine: good amount by the glass including bubblies Midlights: - Steak skewers: 4 full skewers was a good amount and was cooked fine, but were extra salty and couldn't taste the miso glaze flavor I was excited about. 3 stars - Salad add ons were pretty spendy. If you're looking for a place to be ignored, frustrated, and outright disrespected, then 28 North Gastropub in Melbourne, FL, is the perfect spot for you. We arrived on a Friday night expecting a decent experience, especially since the restaurant was less than 50% full. You'd think that meant quick and efficient service, right? Wrong. Despite the empty tables, we were left waiting an absurd amount of time just to be seated. No explanation, no acknowledgment--just complete disregard. Once we finally sat down, things somehow managed to get worse. We waited another 10-15 minutes before our waiter even bothered to bring us water. But here's the kicker: while we were still sitting there, parched and neglected, a couple was seated right next to us, and within two minutes--yes, two minutes--they were greeted, given water, and their order was being taken. The blatant favoritism and lack of consistency in service were absolutely infuriating. At that point, any hope for a redeemable experience was gone. If this is how they treat their customers when the restaurant is barely half full, I can't imagine the chaos when they're actually busy. Needless to say, I will never be coming back, and I will go out of my way to make sure my friends, family, and colleagues avoid this place like the plague. The waitress explained they had a new chef and a new menu which we were excited to try. We ordered empanadas for our appetizer and they were delicious. The sauces really complemented the beef. My fiancé ordered a burger and I opted for the steak and pimento grits after seeing pics of it online and it did not disappoint. The manager came over and asked how our experience was and we told him it was great. When he heard it was our first time coming in, he sent over two glasses of champagne. I wish there were salt shakers on the table I feel like that would have made the food taste a little more flavorful. My husband and I give this place a 6.5 out of 10. Happy hour had good deals on drinks. The orange crush beer was fantastic. We also liked how they get almost everything local. I don't think we'd get this again tho. Next time we plan on getting just drinks, eggs and maybe the charcuterie board. Entrées were very expensive to be a bland and oily. We don't think the steak sandwich had any seasoning on it. This spot is sometimes hit or miss for me. I always find it odd when more than half the restaurant is empty, but they ask if you have a reservation and have to go ask someone if you can be seated. Great place for a date night for drinks and a small meal. The menu changes often with some gourmet ingredients. However, you can dress up a burger , but if the beef has no taste it becomes and underwhelming dish. I tried the pork belly sliders and felt the pork belly itself was lacking flavor. Without all the other ingredients in the bun it would have been lack luster. For the price, I would have expected a wow factor from the dishes. Spouse said the burger was just OK. This place stands out in a literal circle of other options in the Vierra shops/marketplace. It's located on the inside circle kind of across from the Books-A-Million, and as Emeril would say... BAM! This place is good. I'd recommend just as another Yelp! Elite recommended to me. Upon arrival, as a party of 1, I was a bit confused as to the seating options open to me. The bar was a bit crowded, there was a wait for a table, so I opted to sit outside on the non-heated patio. It was a chilly night so some heaters would have been nice. Once the bar opened up a bit, I waltzed inside and grabbed a seat at the bar and the bar staff was kind and let my server know where I was. For a drink, I had the Tequila Mockingbird which was tasty and spicy. As with many cocktails these days, it gone with just a few sips. I'd probably get something different next time (maybe something more shippable like an old fashioned). For my meal, I got the grilled cheese club which looked amazing so much that two other parties at the bar perked up and asked what it was that I ordered. There was cheese melted on the inside and outside, it was cut into 4s which made for easy dipping into the tomato "soup". Pretty good. I think they forgot the bacon though as when someone asked me about it (a 3rd party that said they may order it), I realized I didn't have any crunch or smoky bacon in mine. Bummer as Bacon is King! Had I noticed before I finished it, I would have said something. Also, the Bartending Staff was killing it. I was limiting myself to 1 drink as I was driving and didn't really know where I was going, but wish I would have just sat at the bar to begin with. Next time! Their duck fries were a novelty The grilled cheese sandwich was actually pretty good. Bacon, avocado and tomato spread... The only reason it did not get the fourth star is that they had one server for twenty people...he got a little overwhelmed and forgot to take orders or bring me a second drink...after asking twice.
