We walked into the most adorable Cuban cafe in Melbourne and were greeted with giant smiles and fantastic service! We had delicious pastelitos, empanadas and picadillo along with Cuban drinks and authentic Cuban coffee. Great ambiance and decor. While passing through Melbourne for work, I stopped by this place. Place is very clean, awesome service from the owners who were involved in making the food. I had the Cuban Caprese (spicy version) and it was fantastic. The Cuban bread was pressed to perfection, and while eating the ambiance was very 'Homey' with a modern feel. I spent four days in Melbourne with my wife while she attended a conference, and this was by far my favorite spot I found there. The owners were extremely warm and friendly, the sandwiches were delicious and flavorful, and prices were extremely reasonable. Great vibes all around. The sandwiches are well made, and grilled to perfection with melted cheese and popping flavors. We tried the Cuban sandwich of course and the "Cuban sloppy joe". The Cuban coffee had a punch! To me, it was much better than espresso due to the depth of flavor and non-bitterness. We also tried the mamay milkshake. Beautifully crafted and great tasting. The owners could not have been more hospitable, making great recommendations of items to try, providing us with some spicy home-made chimichurri sauce, and even offering to help find contractors in the area. I watched a man walk away with the pan con picadillo and he was ravingggggg about it. The ambience is modern Cuban with beautiful green glass decor and the fanciest espresso saucers. My pinky had to go up!! Needless to say I'm already planning to stop by on the way to work for a little Cuban coffee (gasoline!) and a tostada.
