I was pleasantly surprised to find such a large area within a gas station designated as a restaurant. I was craving cafe con leche with buttered Cuban toast--it hit the spot. They have a great selection of foods, pastries, drinks! A lot more than I expected from a spot like this but I am so glad I found it! And it looks like they're on grubhub too!

After months of searching for good tasting Cuban food, we decided to drive to Palm Bay to Checkout Henry's Cuban cafe for hot food. We've been to their satellite location to get breakfast items but didn't offer hot food. This location is inside a gas station. That ladies working the counter were very friendly and attentive. They had the hot food visible to make your decision easier. That had ropa vieja, picadillo, tamales, pork chunks, and desserts. You can eat there as they have a few tables or you can order to go like we did. The food was great tasting. Big portions. Highly recommend if you are looking for authentic Cuban food.

Excellent service. Restaurant is impeccably clean. However having had amazing Cuban food in south Florida this does not even come close. Cafe con leche. 4 out of 5 stars. Guava with cheese 4 out of 5 stars. Empanada 2.5 out of 5. Lunch 1/4 chicken meal with black beans yellow rice plaintains and 1/4 chicken 2 out of 5. Chicken 0 out of 5 very dry and no seasoning yellow rice 1 out of 5 no seasoning looks pretty but no taste. Beans 4 out of 5 has seasoning plaintains 3 out of 5. Overall okay a bit on pricey side but wouldn't go out of way. Convenience but food is just meh nothing fancy. Awesome service and cleanliness though!

First Timer! Passed this place for a year before we decided to stop. We ordered the pressed Cuban Sandwich. My first bite..I didn't believe my buds. Second bite I told my Husband "they didn't have to do us like this, but they did". That marinated shredded pork was UNBELIEVABLE, tender, flavorful. The Cuban Bread was the freshest! Our favorite spot from now on. Oh the establishment was Spotless as well.

Not from the area and came looking for a hood cuban. The restaurant is located inside a gas station convenience store so don't be discouraged that you're in the wrong place. Staff is super friendly. Regarding the food, the cuban I had was alright, nothing special but not the worst. Admittedly, they did pack it with meat but there wasn't much flavor to it compared to others i've had. The cheese was good but overall it was just a little dry.

Henry's Cuban Cafe is located in a gas station in Palm Bay, Florida. It is not far off on Interstate 95, so it can appeal to both locals and travelers of the highway. We were of the latter, heading back to Orlando from a business trip down to Fort Lauderdale. The interior is pretty straightforward and nothing fancy. In fact, you can see the design from the gas station that this was. The service here is extremely friendly, personable, outgoing and a definite benefit to this restaurant. I went with the rope vieja with rice, beans and yuca. I also ordered a papa rellena, which is a potato ball and a personal favorite of mine whenever I am in a Cuban restaurant. As a testimony of the personable staff, the woman behind the counter told us the translation of "ropa vieja" (which I already knew). I also asked for a hot sauce and the personable woman behind the counter handed me some and proclaimed it the "best in the world." Again, she truly is an asset to the restaurant. The hot sauce was definitely pretty good. Sadly though, the food itself was pretty mediocre. The yuca was good, the rice and beans were not too good and the rope vieja was, well, mediocre. My papa rellena was lacking in both the meat inside and the flavor overall. I will have to give it three stars.

Yummy Ropa Vieja with plantains and beans and rice.

Yummy food in a nice and clean convenience store setting - very clean with plenty of tables. Seemed to be a local hotspot.

The food is so good! We crave a Cuban sandwich once in a while and Henry's never disappoints. The pork roast is tender and juicy and the black beans and rice, I could eat every day.

Stop here!! So yummy, the cleanest and best gas station restaurant I've been to. Don't let the fact that it's in a gas station sway you from making this stop. Went for dinner at 7:30 just before they closed and food was still so fresh. Authentic, delicious and affordable.

It's located on the corner of Emerson and Jupiter, parking has been easy the few times I've gone (medium sized private parking lot). Ordering is pretty quick and my empanadas and coladas (cuban coffee) with sugar we're prepared very quickly. I haven't tried their cuban sandwiches or hot foods yet but they look delicious in the display cases. There's a small bar by the ordering counter you can sit at or there are more tables inside for indoor dining. They provide hand sanitizer and there is no mask requirements for customers or employees (as of Jan 2022). I was needing a pick me up and when I saw this place it reminded me of Miami and was satisfied with the colada. My plus one liked the empanadas so I had to come back a few days later to try them. Feels like a hidden gem in Palm Bay when you want a taste of Cuban cuisine. I would rate it 4.5 stars from my first two visits.

We got up early on Christmas Eve and opted to find a cool breakfast place. After a few minutes in Yelp, we found Backwater which is nestled in Historic Downtown Melbourne. Parking should not be a problem but if you can't find some on your he street their is a public parking garage not to far away. Upon arrival we were seated pretty quickly and all the staff were very friendly. Our server Amy was awesome and recommended a few breakfast items that were awesome. We opted for the Greek breakfast and the Cuban Benedict which were both fresh and excellent. We also split their seasonal Cinammon pancake as well which was great as well. Pancakes are huge so make sure you leave some room if you plan on having one. All portions were healthy as well, no skimping at Backwater and everyone was in the Christmas spirit as well which was awesome! The atmosphere is friendly, laid back and welcoming which is great if you are from out of Town. So if you are in the area, make sure you check them out for breakfast or lunch. I am sure you will not be disappointed! So in fact he spirit of the holiday I will adjust my customary ending to say Merry Christmas, Happy Hanukkah and a prosperous and blessed Happy New Year to all of you! Enjoy and Bon Appétit mes amis!

**INITIAL REVIEW**…read more Most of my fellow Yelpers know if food were categorized by a genre, breakfast and brunch has a special place in my heart. Ergo, I am on the constant search for more breakfast and brunch places to add to my repertoire. With that in mind, I must stress that Historic Downtown Melbourne a.k.a. Melbourne Main Street has an amazing number of breakfast and brunch places. But the one I admire the most is The Roots Restaurant Tavern, which I will shorthand simply to The Roots for the remainder of this review. Though an address is provided, it must be stressed The Roots is a little "off the mainstreet" of Melbourne Main Street. Just west of the train tracks, the road splits in which the northernly direction is the continuation of New Haven Ave. or the actual Melbourne Main Street. The Roots is on the southern road, right next to The Iron Oak. Take note that The Roots is quite a cozy location. On the outside, The Roots has this look of an old saloon out in the wild west. There are a few tables and chairs for outdoor seating, excellent for people-viewing while eating your meal. Inside, The Roots looks delightfully tacky with all the knick-knacks hanging around and about on the walls. Imagine how Cracker Barrel used to look before the new CEO decided the decor should be more minimalist. But my statement on how The Roots looks small from the outside definitely shows when you are inside, too. The place is small. They definitely utilize the space as best they could, with large party seating being in the back for only one party. Still, take note of this limitation. My waitresses were very kind and attentive when serving me. But I am sure you all want to know about the food. The times I have eaten here, I have had three meals: The Eggs Benny Flight, and Pancake Flight, and Shrimp n' Grits. I will detail each in the pictures of food (if I have them), but I will say that everything here was delicious. My one lone criticism is that some of these flights are best enjoyed with another, not by yourself. On a sidenote, the restroom is clean and stocked, but there is only one and it is unisex. As I said earlier, The Roots is the best breakfast and brunch restaurant, well for me, in Historic Downtown Melbourne. So it is understandable why I am giving them a five-out-of-five stars for their review. Food, service, and ambiance are all excellent and the issues are way too minimal for me to consider them having any major affect. If you are ever going to eat at The Roots only once. My suggestion are the flights. Either eggs bennies, pancakes, or mimosas, you can't go wrong with any of them.

It's a cute place and fun to go to. I got the pancake flight and loved I could pick different…read moreflavors
