I wish I could say I had a positive experience and enjoyed the meal based on the positive reviews it gets. However, my experience was quite the opposite. I walked up around 5pm on a Tuesday, in which they were pretty slammed with Happy Hour guests and spring breakers (which i totally understand, it's going to be busy)... I was met with a sign out front that said "check-in". Of course I obliged. (I'm a rule follower and have worked in the food industry... and used to hate when customers would seat themselves). I waited awhile and no one noticed i was standing there or greeted me. I took it upon myself to finally just enter the facility to find someone that could help me to at least communicate what I needed to do to get a table. I caught the eye of a middle age man (not sure what his role was... i'm assuming manager) and he comes rumbling out asking what i needed and I answered with oh, it's just me. I wasn't sure what I needed to do to be put on a list, or.... he immediately cut me off in the most smart a** tone and said "well you walked right past the sign"... Firstly, i was flabbergasted that he took such a derogatory tone with me for no good reason. Secondly, in my head I'm thinking "what!!? You mean the sign in scribbled chicken scratch that says "check in" with no host stand present and no host for that matter tending to the front to manage new guests?" If this a**hole knew anything about quality customer service, he would have kept the nasty comments to himself , smacked a smile on his face and said "welcome! How can I help you?" It's pretty simple stuff. Apparently these days it's too much to ask for. The ownership of this company needs to get real and train their staff on customer service. This business will nosedive quickly if they can't get the basics down. Better service found elsewhere, dont waste your time. Oh and I didn't even bother staying after that remark, no one deserves to be spoken to like that. read more

A great place for a casual lunch along A1A We decided to stop at Long Doggers on South A1A for lunch and had a very nice experience. The restaurant is a colorful, casual place with a lot of surfing and local items decorating the walls that fit the beach atmosphere of the area very well (it is located across the street from the beach). There are inside and outside tables available, and although the restaurant was pretty busy when we arrived for lunch, the staff was still able to find us a table without much of a wait. We decided to sit outside. It was a sunny day, but the seating area was comfortable and surprisingly did not feel hot. The restaurant is a stand-alone building located on the corner of a larger strip center parking lot, so there was plenty of parking available during our visit. They also have a drive-through if you want to pick something up rather than eat at the restaurant. Long Doggers has a good-sized regular menu, but we decided to try their $10 lunch menu. We both ordered the smashburgers with French fries/kettle chips. Our meals came out quickly, and both the burgers and extras were excellent. For $10, I thought it was a great lunch and very reasonable considering the quality and amount of food we received. The staff was very very nice throughout our visit, and our waitress was excellent and took very good care of us. Overall, between the casual beach atmosphere, outdoor seating, good food, friendly service, plenty of parking, and a very reasonable lunch special, we really enjoyed our visit. If you are traveling along South A1A and looking for a good casual lunch, I would definitely recommend giving Long Doggers a try. Enjoy! read more

Stopped in for the $10 lunch special, and for the price, it was solid. I ordered the single patty burger with Swiss cheese, which came with potato chips and a beverage. The burger itself was decent, but the patty-to-bun ratio was off. The bun was good quality, just way too big for the patty. I'd honestly rather see a smaller bun so the burger doesn't feel like it's hiding. On the plus side, the toppings were on point--just the right amount of lettuce, onions, and sliced tomato, which helped pull it together. My wife ordered the Swap Chicken Goofy Foot, which is their plant-based chicken substitute wrap. Her take? It was okay. Not bad, but not impressive either. It tasted exactly like what you'd expect from a meat-free chicken swap in a casual beachside spot--edible, simple, and forgettable. Too much other stuff in the wrap. It didn't wow her, but it also didn't offend. Would she order it again, probably not. That pretty much sums up the experience. No frills, simple, decent food, decent ambiance, and great service. The wait was minimal and the meals arrived quickly. Excellent service! This isn't the place you go for culinary surprises--it's the place you go when you want something easy, reasonably priced, and reliable near the beach. We are here from South Carolina for a baseball tournament. I called around 3:00 and spoke to a manager about accommodating a large group of us for dinner. They reserved 4 big outdoor tables for us that were ready upon our arrival. Our waitresses were amazing and patient. The food was delicious and fresh! The manager hung out with our kids for a few minutes, gave them along Dogger stickers and ice cream. It was a wonderful experience for all of us. Highly recommend!! read more

We recently went back to Long Doggers after a hiatus resulting from a dismal selection of Hazy IPAs (which has been brought up to the managers several times). On Monday we were pleasantly surprised when they had a Fresh Hazy IPA. Imagine our surprise when we found out that beer cost $11.50. Yes, I said $11.50! Even the manager was surprised. This same beer is on draft at The Mansion for $5. Long Doggers...if you have going to serve that expensive of a beer, please tell your waitstaff to let the patrons know when they order so they are aware. read more

10 year fan of Long Doggers. I usually get the shrimp or fish basket with fries and coleslaw. I visited last week after being away 4 months. The fried fish was not at all what I've come to expect. It was thick, dry, flavorless, tough. I checked it twice to make sure I had not accidentally been given chicken. The price had gone up to $19 for the 2 piece basket. I didn't finish it. I mentioned this visit to my son. Long Doggers is the first stop when he and his family visit. They were here 2 months ago and mentioned the same disappointment with the fish.
